  1. Yeah, I love it when he laughs. Is there a download on the net for his squeaky little laugh?
  2. Well between the fire of '99 and mid-2004 I was determined to never go back because of that fire ruining the place, and I didn't until being convinced by a mate that Colossus and Nemesis Inferno are 2 of the best rides at Thorpe. So come mid-October 2004 I went for the first time in just over 5 years, loved it even though I was there for 2 hours, and then went next in mid-July 2005. So it could be said I held a grudge which I have now let go of.
  3. Can I just comment, we have 2 topics for Alton Towers music, this one and "Your Alton Towers media".
  4. Why must you be my shadow on every post?
  5. Have you seen the amount of reviews on the net for Saw? Some of them literally slag it off to the max. And although I don't agree with them 100%, to a certain extent, they're right. I saw a documentary on YouTube where rollercoaster experts are talking about Saw and how Stealth and Colossus are better.
  6. Does anyone know the music used in this advert for More Than insurance?http://www.tellyads.com/show_movie.php?filename=TA8333
  7. The pictures are not worth the money, Annual Pass holders don't even get a discount, do they? Good for a laugh when you've just come off a ride but not to buy. They're really strict about you photographing them now, understandably.
  8. Rameses - the worst ride in Surrey.Even Ripsaw's better.
  9. The words self and Stealth sound very similar, so I always say:"Place your heads back, hold on tight and brace yourStealth"
  10. Me too! I went last month for a day and it was having problems just when we went to queue for it.
  11. How long has Slammer been down for? This is my first oppurtunity to catch the news for about 10 days now.And for those who want Slammer gone, you're in for a long wait.
  12. These 2 pictures are from several years ago:Love it, the 2nd one is the best.
  13. If you mean by "windmilled" where it stops in this position and lets the 6 pods rotate, then yes. Like in this picture: No! Then there'd be no sky swatters left in the world!
  14. Top Thrill Dragster doesn't have a bunny hop - look:Also, loads of on-ride videos of it on YouTube. I know what you mean, you can't feel the 97 degree bit.
  15. Me too, for me it's more like a case over "overcame" Thorpe. Chessie's still good to go to, the novelty can wear off.
  16. I can't see Stealth from anywhere except the M3 or or M25. It's been said to be seen from Epsom Downs on a clear day, but I can't see it.
  17. I'm a big fan of Dead Set - anyone here seen it? Awesome. Anyway, I wanna get hold of one these clocks they use in the control room:For those who don't know the top 2 figures display the hours and minutes, and the bottom one displays the seconds. Also, the ring of dots counts with each second, e.g if it's on 25 seconds all the dots between 1 and 5 positions are displayed.I realise these are mainly used throughout broadcasting and getting hold of one isn't easy, as I've searched high and low on the net. Anyone have any suggestions of how to get one of these? Even a computer-based one would be good!
  18. Well you'll love me then, as I have it. Put your e-mail addy in a PM to me and I'll send it to you as soon as I can. No, it's not the outdoor speakers. I think they're tall and thin, possibly tubular.
  19. I looked on RCDB.com. The results:Kingda Ka, the world's tallest, is 456ft high - top speed 128mph Top Thrill Dragster, the second tallest, is 420ft - top speed 120mph 36ft shorter and 8mph slower.

That's fair enough if it doesn't really suit Thorpe in your opinion, but it's more of what the customer wants, and what Thorpe think would fit in well. We're all looking to try new types of rides. With a sky swatter, an air-powered swing, a 205ft high launch coaster, a 100ft drop tower, the world's first 10 looping coaster Europe's wettest water ride, these aren't exactly your everyday rides at a theme park. Thorpe have a lot of "some things different", and to put a flyer in would not only top it off, but I am certain it would make the place more popular.

That convo you overheard was definately a lie. For a start, they probably haven't decided on what type of coaster it'll be.Thorpe have gotta get a flyer though.
  22. *remembering* Oh yes, I remember now.I dunno what I prefer, red or silver corners! Silver corners reminds me a lot of the Chessie theme.
  23. The queues were as long as Thorpe's, I remember seeing them. But the wait was shorter at Chessington.
  24. Hmm, hard to tell from that picture whether the pods have been repainted, however, wasn't the fence completely black before? Whatever it was, it looks good like that now.I'll always remember the time when I first saw Samurai at Thorpe Park towards the end of 2004. I had spent the whole season at Chessington getting used to no Samurai there, and when I walked across the Colossus bridge and saw Samurai running in it's new colours with its lights on, I was like "There it is!", as if I had found something I had lost. I had seen images of it on the net in it's new colours, and this was during the days before I started going to Thorpe Park regularly.
