  1. I just played it for the first time and thought I'd done really well. I scored 234,000ish and then looked at the leaderboard and saw in third place was 2,818,200. I clearly stand no chance haha. Since that game I have been scoring lower each time!
  2. I had never personally known The water fountains to ever break or go wrong until last season and ever since it has broken several times. How is it they can keep them working for 20 odd years and suddenly they can't on a regular basis? Crazy!
  3. What I don't get is that people say Samurai is ruined because it was used on decent settings in the past and is not designed to run all day every day. But the Beast has operated since 2001 as far as I know, all day every day and still gives a decent ride! Just two more year than Samurai which also received a refurb in 2003/2004.
  4. Just read this on the TPM facebook page, but see it hasn't been mentioned here... "Storm in a Teacup has had a slight audio change - it's goodbye to WWTP Radio and Big Bob Jones, and he's been replaced by the lovely characters from Tetley themselves!" It says "slight" audio change with new voiceovers and no more WWTP during loading so does it still have the usual SIAT theme that played when the ride starts? Also noticed Samurai loading has gone back to the dull 2007 track that was used for 4 or 5 years.
  5. Images of the position of cars before crash here. (Hopefully link works as never used site before) http://postimg.org/gallery/pfhqn3hq/
  6. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10318089 Rewind the video back to 16:44 (time of day) and you can clearly see the train stalled on the circuit and the full train sat at the top of the lift (as per the blocking system). Somehow 10 - 15 minutes later the train at the top of the lift started moving again, which obviously shouldn't have happened. I'm sure we will find out at somepoint what caused it to start moving. What I don't like about The smiler is that when it stops on the lifts and needs to be evacuated it is rolled back down slowly rather than evacuated on the lift. Maybe they attempted this but it started moving the wrong way. I'm sure we will find out at somepoint what caused it to start moving.
  7. That must have been yet another recent change as I am going on Sat May 16th and only 10 days ago it said 10 to 6. Absolutely ridiculous! And then they will wonder why attendance drops this year.
  8. Definitely not true at all. I think its very useful. I have told everyone who visits any of those parks on there about the queue-times website.
  9. The track round by loggers leap did look as if it had been "cleaned" When the park opened at the start of season but like JoshC. said there is no visible work taking place. I still personally think they have a plan for it though because literally nothing apart from the track damaged by the cherry picker has been removed. I mean would they seriously have left the track there for almost 5 years if they were sure they wanted to get rid of it. Even the level crossing barriers haven't been taken down. All seems a bit strange to me. Cant see it reopening this season as such though.
  10. We had three trains built up last year and still it would only operate on two due to other health and safety reasons. Although I am sure I heard the reason it couldn't run three was something to do with the chain on the second lift and that was replaced. Plus the train looked to climb the lift faster than normal when I saw it recently, so maybe who knows. Fingers crossed.
  11. I also thought they had the wooden Wild mouse ride, King Solomon's Mine from Pleasureland Southport too?
  12. This video seems to show it giving a good soaking at around 4:45.
  13. Try riding the front left outside seat. Thats the only seat I've done and it was pure hell! The car shook so much I thought the wheel assembly was going to give way. Then the restraint clicked down a further two notches giving me cramp. Came off with a bad leg and pounding headache which I rarely get.

    Nemesis

Someone asked why the water was no longer red on Nemesis and this was the answer from Alton Towers: Hi Steffles, environmental legislation now prevents us dying our water. Looks like we won't be seeing it red ever again.
  15. A minor fire had supposedly started earlier in the forbidden Valley fish and chips restaurant according to towers times Facebook page. What is it with Alton Towers and fires!?
  16. Saw ran with 6 cars Wednesday and the operator shouted through the tanoy twice asking the staff to speed things up as they were quite slow. Only Swarm was being loaded and dispatched quickly on Wednesday. Stealth not too bad. Colossus was painfully slow at loading. 20 mins for front row with only 7 people in front of us.
  17. Was at Park today and x, vortex, detonator and slammer down. Vortex had a ladder in the middle of the seating area but couldn't see any work going on. Slammer was being worked on at ground level all day and still has its scaffolding. Depth charge and storm surge also went down briefly today too.
  18. Lets hope it's more reliable, but we also said this last year!
  19. Accident on Green Lantern in Australia. A wheel mechanism apparently fell off. No one hurt. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-31898746
  20. This is interesting. Thorpe Park are going for an off peak and peak pricing strategy this year. The gate price is extortianate! Technically a £10 increase on last year if you visit holidays or weekends!!!! Off Peak: £49.99 Peak £59.99 https://www.thorpepark.com/tickets-passes/ticket-information/tickets/
  21. Of course, I didn't mean that was the only reason. Only mentioned it because when it used to start playing I would hear staff on many occasions say something, for example: "yay time to close the queue".
  22. Another reason it was great when the end of day music was played. All staff Park wide knew exactly when to close the queue lines off at the correct time.
  23. Hex - The Legend Of The Towers (4) Nemesis (8) Oblivion (3) Oblivion + Hex -
  24. Yep it was confirmed as 7th and 8th on the half term map and various replies to posts on facebook.
  25. Bubbleworks (6) Dragon's Fury (7) Rameses Revenge (3) Rattlesnake (3) Vampire (6) Rameses + Vampire -
