  1. So we have a smoking fire truck at the entrance to the island... and a flaming fire truck in the middle of the island... this is shaping up nicely!

    Random

    How imaginative.
  3. I'm sorry but not enough room is not a good enough excuse, maybe it they scaled everything down a notch they wouldn't need to cut half their coasters off the map, or have rides seemingly next to rides the other side of the park. This does adhere to Thorpe's Map as well but at least they have rides roughly in the right place.SAW Alive is pretty much next to Zodiac and Storm Surge is technically taller than X:/ No Way Out. Thorpe have dis-proportioned their Major rides so they look big standing out. If Thorpe scaled down their major rides it would be pretty accurate.
  4. Not really, it just happens to be in a well landscaped area of Britain I'm pretty sure they didn't infill those hills all around it you know.
  5. It's the same as last years one? Alton's is more geographically challenged than Thorpe Park's map. Last I checked Nemesis wasn't flying over Runaway Mine Train. Maybe the parks are competing for the most confusing map! Also Alton make it look as though Enterprise is new for 2013.

    Jobs..

First day back at work today, oh how I've missed it!
  7. So after reading about it on the website, it doesn't actually say anywhere that it will be played at the park.

    Jokes

I named my iPhone "Titanic" so when I enter it on iTunes it says 'Syncing Titanic' and I feel like a hero when I press "Cancel".....
  9. And? The principle of the point was anyone and everyone can go in as of when they like.... not risk being refused? A lot of people have MAP's as well you know.
  10. But the entrance music wasn't ride music?
  11. Wait what? He said the restriction was being lifted.... therefore they can go in when they like? Are you saying they SHOULDN'T be let in?
  12. I would of thought the foundations for the tower thing on X-Flight would of been layed prior to track construction
  13. At least it's nice they are getting advertisement towards the ride from every angle.
  14. I am somewhat sorry Dan for your thoughts, I am by no means making a claim I know more about the event, because as it stand I know no more about the event than you. I was unfortunately giving off a point where-by Benin and yourself are relating a negative comment towards the park in an unnecessary tone. Unnecessary because all you know is a band is playing at the park, you do not know what they will be playing, where they will be playing or why they are playing.I guess what I'm saying is, don't criticize something you haven't got the full picture on. Oh and by the way your disclaimer is false in the means that I've watched you shoot people down before for defending the truth (yes I am talking about myself). I spent a year away from this forum for the fact that I got shot down at every comment I made. Looks like I'm going to be bullied out the forum yet again by the likes of yourself and other amongst this so called community.
  15. I'm sorry I forgot you are part of Thorpe Parks events department, you obviously know every detail of the event to justify this comment.
  16. I'm confused... It is to my understanding that some of you 'get off' over the way a ride is 'ceremonially' opened in America, but when a British theme park tries to do the same, that makes them bad? Have you even given them a chance? Like heck, what would you rather, a crappy ''drags gate cross concrete at entrance to mark the opening'' OR '' drags gate cross concrete at entrance entering to a live band... Typical.
  17. Thomas the Tank Engine or Paddington Bear!
  18. to me 30 years isn't a bigg... Might I point out that 30 years fell in 2009 at Thorpe Park the same year SAW - The Ride opened to the public. It may of been a coincidence but it satisfies me beyond a crappy show about Madagascar. Like Benin I too would of preferred a decent ride to accompany the '25 year' mark.
  19. I think the official advert will be plastered everywhere... from Facebook to thorpepark.com. This was probably an early bird attempt to get the ride open in the public as much as possible and talked about... Evidently it has worked.
  20. So, in the first 2 weeks of opening how many meets are there? I've lost count.
  21. They are recording for the upcoming SWARM advert
