Thanks guys, been a real help. I think Ive got the day planned out now. I'm only gonna be at the park for 2 hours :/ So knowing this there are a couple of rides I wanna do because I'm nosey and wanna see if anything has changed and that would be X (X:/NWO), loggers leap and The Swarm or Saw. Could anyone give a rough idea for queue times at all? I know itll be opening day an all, but it would be really useful with any information at all.

Completely random, but I didnt know where to pit it. Basically I'm going to alton towers during the april half term. My friend has bought a MAP online and it needs to be collected there. He is unable to go when I go, so just out of curiosity, can I collect it on his behalf? If he wrote a letter with his details on it and saying that I can collect it for him and a passport photo of himself. Could I do that? Thanks

Only direct references to Saw like the puppet will have to be replaced. And traps from the film - the trap just before you go up the stairs behind thd fence is from the third film (the rack trap), youve then got the quadruple shotgun hallway just before you get to it, razor wire trap - as your going up the stairs, neck splicer - in the station area, then all the billy dolls, they'd have to retheme the bathroom trap - maybe just get rid of the toilets in it and jigsaws head in the scales when your going down the exit stairs. I tjink those are all the 'saw related elements' which either would need to be removed or tweeked.

Its not opening in March, Towers released the information on their mini site saying it wont open till May.

One thing I noticed in the video, its not 'World's Beating' its 'World's First'. So maybe their doing both, a worlds beating, worlds first, or the special element is a world's first.

Alton Towers has definately confirmed it I dont really like the name, seems more jokey than serious, almost going completely against 'The Sanctury'. Ahh well, The Smiler.

I have to say, if they do turn the back two rows round, the actual seats will look stupid. Think about it, the wings are going to be on back to front on the 'alien', asthetically I think itll be stupid. If it does go through it does give a newer experience, kind of after shock of going through/past things.

Firstly this was mentioned ages ago... Sounds like a plan to me One concern though, x is in the lost city not Egypt so would it go with the surroundings around it? It would kind of, coz its all mystical. Maybe not an Egyptian one, but maybe south american one or something. Also it is rumoured to be rethemed with a sponsor of ministry of sound so I don't think a Egyptian pyramid and nicki Minaj screeching at top volume would go well together That is true, but that is just a rumour, but we'll hopefully find out soon.

Ive been thinking how the 2nd clue could link into an X retheme. Maybe, just maybe they are going to theme it to an egyptian pyramid, call it 'Scorpion Attack'. It would fit with the 3rd ue, basically telling us which ride it is, the 2nd clue is the new theme and the 1st ckue was the fact its being rethemed (the evolution of a ride). What do you think?

The only thing I can back up with, that this clue is to do with X, is the original advert for it. You had people breaking in (rebels), who wouldnt submit to the programme (submission), and the catastrophic killer, again a computer virus which takes people (attacks) and their never to be found, and again the fact the clue spells BACKWARDS out anyways. Thats my piece.

'Beware a catastrophic killer which attacks rebels defying submission' If you take the first letter of each word, it spells 'BACKWARDS', X:\NWO related I think. ^^Also the original theme, a computer virus, a virus is a killer, it destroys and you cant stop them.

I believe we only have 7 possible locations now aswell with Storm Surge taking up two of the possible locations shown in the MTDP. At this moment in time theres only 5 plots for this year that I can count, because 2 of the plots are on an island thats not even ready yet.

This is a great advertising method - although a bit weird if you are not a theme park fan and have never heard of SW7. :)Does anyone else think that there is a lack of PR online though? With The Swarm at Thorpe last year there were loads of videos giving away clues about the ride, but in terms of official ones from Alton Towers regarding SW7 this year, we have had nothing so far.At least they aren't doing another Th13teen though and saying that it will have an age limit etc... See I personally think them going down the internet route would be wrong for the theme. Unless of course they do some videos which look realky old/tatty and have subliminal messaging, like they did for sanctury. Or maybe put the sanctury video online? I think for the old school mental hospital vibe they have kindbof given off, putting posters on the streets fits with the theme better.

That song isnt owned souly owned by Alton Towers. The song is called Hall of the Mountain King (or something like that). They just have to buy the rights to use the piece of music, they just cant use it in the same way Alton Towers have. Another place you can see it used is the Inspector Gadget theme. Its all the same notes, just played slower/quicker.

This is a real long shot, but maybe take Mrs Fungles Safari's track and cars, retheme the cars, and attach guns and have it that you are battling the Swarm that way? Could explain the whole evolution thing andnthat as well, but like I said, its a long shot.'

According to some people and Tower Times and some people on twitter, Alton Towers released an advert for 2013 that was on TV I'm not sure when or where but they said it was aired at 2pm today and will be put on later I think.
