I don't know about the shipping containers (although expected), but I love that architectural theme. The station actually looks like some abandoned asylum.
This is top notch marketing. Get baarrected http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2264281/Just-grin-baaaa-Mysterious-smiley-face-symbol-sparks-internet-debate-appearing-hundreds-sheep-country.html
According to TowersStreet, The Sanctuary will be making a comeback for the 2013 season. Also, Oblivion will receive a much needed repaint and some TLC. Excellent news!
Didn't Alton's LDP state something about a future thrill attraction for the valley? Lots of enthusiasts are under the impression this will be a hyper coaster of some sort.
Ooh, a pet thread.
Introducing my two feline friends:
This is Oscar (or The Osc. as he's known in our house ). He's about two.
...and this is Tilly - my long-haired tortie. I've only had her a couple of months, but she's settled right in
I've just seen the latest aerial shot on TTF. It looks like they've started work on the station building, but the whole area is still way off completion yet.
Thorpe Park
BPB
Lightwater Valley
PortAventura (just waiting for the park to release their opening times).
I meant to do half these parks last year, but things always came up at the last minute.
Interesting that. I wonder if Oblivion will be open to the public if SW7 is finished on time? One can imagine the whole area being a mess with construction vehicles and equipment.
Alton Towers have obviously learnt their lesson with NST; Deadlines are always difficult to fulfil when it comes to ride construction. I don't even care about the themeing TBH, I just want a lovely new thrill coaster. As long as AT take their time and ensure the ride is top quality, I'm happy.
I'm a musician myself and a big lover of the romantic era in classical music. I especially adore the works of Chopin and Liszt.
Some of my all time favourites:
Ballade No.1 - Chopin
Un Sospiro - Liszt
^ You went on a new ride 15 times in one season. IMO that's exceptional, so why moan?
This is one of the biggest projects that AT have ever pulled off, so of course SW7 will see long queues in its opening year. No one's forcing you to ride it.
^ you say that, but I bet Rita will still have a 40 minute queue for much of next season
Seriously, I'm sure SW7 will help regulate the crowds across park. That'll be three areas with major, new(ish) attractions.
Quite a few people hold the same opinion. As someone said to me on Facebook, why were AT so quick to claim this video as fake, on the Sunday night before Christmas? Very odd indeed.
My first ever ride on Rita back in 2010. It's one of my favourite rides at Alton, although I hated it at first (as can be seen in the pic )
Blivvy
One of many ORPs of me on Apocalypse at Drayton Manor
Nemesis
I personally find Oblivion pretty dull these days. The ascent to the top is still exciting, but the whole ride experience just doesn't cut it for me any more. I prefer drop towers if I'm honest.
Actors during opening week would really add to the atmosphere IMO. For the long term, I'd rather SW7 have it's own ride character...something along the lines of Oblivion's Lord of Darkness. It'll be interesting to see how SW7 and the Sanctuary will tie in with the whole dystopian X Sector story.
Tell us what you have in your collection, or better still, post a pic

I think that's everything
