Regardless of ride experience as I doubt anyone has been on Sledgehammer, it has been plagued with downtime. So much so that it has been SBNO for nearly entire seasons at a time. I think this the real reason why there is only one.

I don't care if people want to set up their own sites but some of them really need to stop posting 'exclusive content'. This picture is linked back to a guy who even says it's his unofficial work.

You could try looking at some internet radio stations. I used to listen to quite a few Reddit stations which were pretty good and had a huge selection of tracks. The streams are split by genre as well which is nice.

It's a pretty depressing state to call a relocated water ride which has had minimal thought and care put into it as 'medium investment'.

Meanwhile at USF, the Springfield expansion is rumoured for the middle of the this year and will supposedly (Universal are doing the putting up construction walls but not announcing anything trick again) a Kodos and Kang flat ride and shops, restaurants and bars from the franchise. Rumours are also picking up about a Jurassic Park expansion. I wonder how Disney is going to respond to all of this (hopefully not Avatar land).

Wrong episode of American Horror Story plays and there's massive spoilers in opening scenes. Season 7 of Dexter was awesome.

The upper lot is going to be a complete mess for the next few years due to Potter and this along with Shrek and possibly Waterworld hitting the chopping board. Despicable Me hasn't been given an opening date but predictions are late this year or early next year. The foundations of that area are screwed though due to a certain mechanic at the end of Terminator. The space available is a lot larger than in Florida so they will hopefully get a different ride system but they may just make two show areas. True. The gun-toting nature of the show makes it at times a bit hard for me to swallow but the effects and build up make it more than just another 3D movie.
-
This is just so much better than the Despicable Me ride. I hope the Florida version sticks around for a while longer.

I'm sure these rumours get crazier every year. The Swarm backwards thing I guess is mechanically possible and gives the ride another gimmick but the queue system would be an utter mess. At least Six Flags flip the entire train and give an old ride some TLC. Superman and Mr Freeze make sense backwards as well. I actually think a 3D show with some edge like Terminator would go down a treat at Thorpe.

Would it be too crazy to suggest putting meet dates on your phone, calendar, paper and reminding yourself?

Let's take a look at 10 lamazing songs from 2012.

I honestly really dislike The Killers after Sam's Town. Ed Sheeran I'm not a fan of on record but can be brilliant live. -

I imagine rent and running costs (security alone will be a good chunk) will be much, much larger than usual fairs. Plus it's in Central London. If the demand wasn't there, prices would be lowered or the fair scrapped altogether. -
I have to use a mini Tower of Terror badge because of member signature limitations. #tpmproblems

Sure the ride type will have been refined but USH opened Transformers this year which is the 5th ride of this type and the 2nd Tranformers ride. It still has the $100M tag floating around. Anyway all this falls apart when the current Thorpe can't run water effects, let alone a fireball properly. In the future, who knows.
-
Sorry to knock you down but it's to prove a point. Those types of rides in particular have a predicted cost of $100M+. The research cost in comparison is chump change. Then you have the licensing cost which considering that both Universal and Busch are at least part owned by the same Group and also know how highly all 3 versions are rated, they are not going part easily with the designs. This is the company that has bought some sort of exclusivity deal for the Forbidden Journey system. Overall I'm not sure it's possible to create a dark ride interesting enough for Thorpe's target audience rather than a coaster with the budget it would be given.
-
Too true. I'd like to see ideas of what people think a £12M (including marketing) dark ride (which would mean no coaster until probably 2018 so would have be pretty amazing) would amount to. That's the predicted research cost for the top end dark rides.

I want something which is smooth, fun, reliable, non-inverting and has a decent length. Not keen for Intamin because even their airtime stuff have restraint problems.

Yeah, if you want to talk tickets, BOGOFs are a double edged sword because they are great advertising but their initial deal has become so easy to acquire that it becomes the real price in a sense. Devaluing a brand like this can be risky.
-
It's not as simple as "bad economy - high prices guys!". It's not even similar to theme park ticket economics. True that thorpe can charge whatever they want but if it's too high, then occupancy will drop and in turn so will profits. I just think that for the first season at least, they are banking on the novelty.
-
Easier said than done when some public transport won't even be running by 9am on Sunday. There's nothing stopping people working out who is going to be at the park at 9 and you'll get more rides done in the first hour with a smaller group as well.

I might do more detailed stuff later but I've been on the new Test Track. I really liked the idea of it, mainly because I am a sucker for Tron and customisation. The problem is that the two ideas battle each other for front runner and just destroy the story. The new visuals mean completely removing some tests with minimal replacement and the customisation while cool in the pre and post ride areas do very little for the ride itself. The old Test Track didn't feel very Disney to me but it made the story clear and the narration throughout the experience explained what was happening. Overall a cool idea which is poorly presented. It doesn't feel complete experience which is a shame.
