Mad Coaster Man

Now that Fright Nights has been announced to be in a partnership with Lionsgate, I can't see the ride being rethemed as soon as we all anticipated (2015/2016). While refurbishments (however unlikely) and possible rethemes are possible, it seems like the Saw IP, or at the least another Lionsgate IP is here to stay.

Not good news at all for me... Over the past few years I've visited Thorpe Park less and less often. With the addition of my GCSE's next year, I'll be seriously considering whether it's worth renewing my pass for now. Well done Thorpe...

Seems unlikely, to say the least. Chessington has developed in the last 15 years and Thrill Seekers are being directed to Thorpe and Alton. Chances are, they'll remove it and eventually replace it with something else (or leave it for ages like they did with Rodeo. Still, the last "Big" ride left at Chessington now is Rattlesnake.

Seems a bit far fetched but you never know.

Merlin have never got my date of birth right on any of the 7 or 8 passes that I have owned.

I tend to find that there is one car that jolts more than others, on that car the front left is always the worst, must be the bearing or wheel.

After having ridden X a good few times, I have one complaint. There is not enough leg room. I am about 5'7" and I really struggled to squeeze my legs into the ride car, my dad on the other hand spent almost a minute trying to fit into the car and had an uncomfortable ride.

It really is a lot better than it was in the previous few seasons.

I enjoyed it but each to their own.

Thorpe have just left the signage. Leftovers can also be spotted on the height measurement sign.

So much hype for such a terrible attraction. Shows that the marketing department did their best.

Due to Fire Safety restricitons and similar, you still have to queue outside and then queue from the ramp upwards bit just before the baggage drop off point.

I will admit, I was hoping for floorless trains but these still look really nice. Can't wait till opening now.

Speakers are (I assume) standard Bose or similar branded speakers which are all mounted on a large central cylinder along with the majority of the new lights. Noise level is loud enough but is considerably quiter than any actual club or rave.

I queued just under one hour. And yes the music sounds like generic club music.

Just rode this today. It's far better than expected. There is a large central column of lights that are synced to the music, as well as various lasers and other lighting effects. The second hill seems better towards and the ride is far better than it used to be. Also on the exit the "Thorpe Park Power Supply" has been plastered over. Overall I'd give it an 8/10 over my original 6/10.

The Tribal sounding music is playing in the station. It's not the worst music in the park ahem...Storm Surge...ahem.

Compared to the concept art submitted with the plans, this looks terrible.

Today it seemed to be behaving itself. Ride cycle was decent and it didn't paticularly struggle to park. However I can agree that the seats are really high compared to last season, I had to rely on my imaginary gymnastic skills to get into the seat.

Stealth was shut all day today. May have been because the temperature was close to dropping below 5 Degrees which I believe is the lowest temperature that they can run the ride at.

I doubt it, the Swarm doesn't look much like anything out of Gears Of War. Also Thorpe Park have previously showcased games such as Left for Dead 2 and Dead Space and they don't have any rides based from either of those games.

Yeah, some Space Mountain style light tubes would be pretty cool, but knowing Thorpe, the braking sections will probably be the bits that the tunnels are placed around. Still, we can hope...

This will never happen but remove: Depth Charge, The Beach, Storm Surge and the Arena and have a 300 foot Giga Coaster in their place. Or a Topspin!

I don't mind the BBQ place but I normally eat at KFC, I trust the brand and I haven't had a dodgy meal there yet...
