  1. The only option I have of going to Alton Towers really is going with my family. I would go with my friends on the train, but the cheapest off-peak fare is £36 return. After paying for admission/food/drink etc as well, I'd be looking at over £50 each for a day out. I haven't been since 2004, so am looking forward to another visit whenever that may be.

I used to love it. I still like it, but to be honest I'm getting a bit bored of it. I prefer Quantum to be honest.
  3. 'Sup Lewis.
  4. That would be my perfect game! The park and business aspect of RCT3, and the graphics of No Limits on the coasters and flats. I'm with you there.....

Neither do I, but it's nice to have a full ride line-up if you know what I mean. It takes away some of the atmosphere from the park, if any rides at all are down.

Lol. Seriously though, it really scares me. I wake up thinking how I'm not going to survive the court cases.

I have a recurring dream that my best friend and I kill people.
  8. Thanks very much Mark. It looks very much like it will be quite similar to my days at Thorpe in that I will get probably around 5 or 6 walk-ons at the start of the day, and then if I time the rides right, I can probably manage queueing a maximum of 30 minutes.I think I might be going on Saturday, and catch the train that arrives to Chessington South at 9.49am. This should give me time to walk to the park, and get through admissions to still get a few walk-ons.
  9. Thank you!
  10. I'll try both and see which is easier. But then again, I suppose it depends on the traffic on the day with the bus, whereas you can be guaranteed that the journey will always take the same amount of time when walking. Another Chessington question because I haven't been there in such a long time....Do the queues build up as quickly as Thorpe's do? I.e.: If you arrive for 9.30am at Thorpe, you can usually get 3 or 4 walk-ons, and then the queues start to build up. Is it usually the same at Chessington, or do the queues not build up until later on in the day?

Well Will sort of answered your questions earlier in the fact that SAW is a drop, and Oblivion is a free-fall drop. If you know rides well, you should be able to imagine the difference sensation-wise.

I agree, but it is shocking how many more people are sick on this than some of the other rides in the park.
  13. My current journey is looking quite simple:1 hour to London Victoria5 mins to Clapham Junction25 mins to Chessington SouthTotal time: 1 hour 30 mins
  14. Thank you. I'm going to try the walk from Chessington South, and try the bus as well. I'll see which I prefer. How long is the walk? I just looked it up on Google Maps and it didn't look too long.
  15. Oh that's good, thank you. I am just planning my train route up there, and am glad that it's a nice easy walk.
  16. Has anyone on here done the walk from Chessington South to the park? Is it easy?
  17. Paul replied to Rich's topic in General Discussion
Yes, but they are open in Thrill Chill to try to make some extra money, rather than just from the Main Season.Plus, you can't really compare the availability now to what it was in Thrill Chill. For a start, half of the rides were closed.
  18. Paul replied to Rich's topic in General Discussion
I didn't say that they actually did make money, I just said that that is the reason why they opened earlier for Thrill Chill. Their aim was to make money. Whether or not that happened, I don't know.

I would just find a hosepipe and fill the pool with water!

Has anyone seen this video? It's quite funny to watch it, but it's incredibly painful when you fall off and you're not expecting it. I should know, I did the same thing on Master Blaster.Another clip :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNjk54lAQFQ&feature=relatedHow stupid do you have to be to do that?

    Thus making Oblivion better
  22. I love the sound of the Detonator lift returning to the gondola after the ride cycle, when it clicks into position.

The only reason that I haven't ridden Vampire, is because I haven't been to Chessington in 6 years! I also haven't ridden Fury, Rattlesnake, or Rameses to name a few. I will write about what I thought about it whenever I get back. I was just watching a POV of Vampire on Youtube, and I didn't realize how lengthy the ride is! It looks amazing!

    Lol .
