  1. The only element which I think supports this is the fact that AT have already disclosed they want Sonic moved...and how conveniently Thorpe Park want more family rides...
  2. Now I for one do not believe that this is true, however it does seem to have alot of weight behind it. Many people over on Towerstimes seem to believe that Sonic Spinball will be relocated to another Merlin park. Most think it will be Thorpe Park. Weeks ago I would have just laughed it off, but since the removal of the "fat heads" and the realization on Merlins behalf that Thorpe Park need more family rides...it could be true. We now that Alton Towers plan to move Sonic Spinball anyway as documented in their LTDP published 2 years ago or so and I personally would say it would be a waste of money to move a roller coaster like that to a different location within the same park. Therefore it would move (possibly) to another park (all to make way for their Adventure Land/Farm revamp). Chessington - No already have Dragons Fury Legoland Windsor - No, last rollercoaster deemed too loud and Sonic Spinball is very loud Other International Merlin Attraction - Possible THORPE PARK - looking to appeal more to families, family coaster...could attract a new audience and win back the 10% lost last year? I do not believe it, but in some ways it does make sense. Heres the thread - http://forum.towerstimes.co.uk/alton-towers-future/new-2014/
  3. Hmmmmm, great collection...what does the Depth Charge notice say?
  4. Ive been looking on the ride times website for Alton Towers recently (http://www.ridetimes.co.uk/) and has anyone else realised the masses of downtime Oblivion has had since The Smiler has been open. Not great for an area which received so much investment.
  5. I personally struggle to count most cobra rolls as an inversion and they very rarely take you fully upside down...
  6. I expected a lot more from this ride. Admittedly SFMM do not exactly need it to be an amazing ride as they have so many of them, however as pluk said, there is so much wasted energy, it goes from launch to breaks in seconds...
  7. Wish I could come but my MAP ran out recently so cannot really afford it Enjoy anyways
  8. Dates to save for the diary...is it a whole hour dedicated to Wardley and The Swarm or a segment?
  9. Oh man I want Candy Hollands job!
  10. Reassuring. Usually though I can tell the queue by seeing where the line starts and how many trains the ride is running/what setting the flat ride is on so barely use the queue boards...fanboyism.
  11. It just seemed like it was a fairly last minute decision to do it. I could have been much scarier or authentic. I do hope that they can perfect this type of attraction this year because the throughput (as the TN live feed said) was great.
  12. The trains look ugly as "The Curse's" tent during fright nights!
  13. Hmmmm don't think anyone has guessed this... "The highly anticipated return of the scare zone between Rush and Quantum" That was a truly great attraction for us enthusiasts to see the old TP memorabilia.
  14. To be fair they were only cut off of the ride because of the safety harnesses doing their job.
  15. But the ride is on it's last legs anyway...I cant remember a day in the past 4-5 seasons I have been where it hasnt experienced downtime. Surely this malfunction would have just sped up the process in replacing the ride. Especially as the general publics perception of it will now be that it is unsafe as it was plastered all over the press.
  16. Oblivion hands down...the only ride which "thrills" me still.
  17. The pit itself really does suit a topspin but I'm sure something bigger and better could go there...drop tower? ZacSpin? etc...
  18. Not sure if it has been posted before on here but there is a very good fly on the wall documentary from the 90's about Blackpool PB. It has 6 parts and ive watched them all back to back...well worth a watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ1jNmMfcRg
  19. Detonator is the one ride I cannot stand at THORPE PARK. Ive been to the states and done Kingda Ka etc...but I just hate Detonator.
  20. I could see this as an opportunity for Chessington to show truely which way they will swing... Fix it (unlikely in my opinion) or replace it with a new thrill ride or; Remove it and either leave it as an empty space (like what the left of Runnaway Mine Train was like for seasons after the removal of a spinning ride) or replace with a gentle ride so to say. I can see Chessington going for a thrill ride because with THORPE PARK saying on this forum that they are going to broaden their appeal, whats to say chessington won't too? I know it is a small space but something could go there?
  21. A little off topic, but can you send a link to the plans for dungeons at county hall please
  22. Bye Bye you absolute legend!!! And I beleive that there are a few old TP logos left on x:/no way out trains.
  23. Hopfully as the closed season is less than a week away they will fix it; but what is in my mind is will TP think that as the contract with Twisted Pictures runs out soon (I think) will it be worth fixing?
