Depends, if it was heavily themed then yes, and would really support the family image the park is going for, but the whole family, even the older brother. So, err Yes ;)If you could work at either of these, where would it be?Chessington or Alton Towers
  2. Sorry!, Forgot to put that on, the closing date will be the 1st of November!

That's a cruel one... hmm I'm gonna go with Samurai, you can get unbelieveable rides on it.By the way I'd personally have Quantum at Chessington Vortex or Slammer
  4. Ok the last Challenge was a bit of a fail, mainly because I forgot ;)But with Halloween upon us, there would be no other choice as a Challenge but Halloween! So the challenge is just To get the best picture you can of something to do with Halloween at any of the Merlin Parks.I thought with a huge group of you going tomorrow you could all get some entries then , so remind each other :PAnd anyone who's going over the next couple of weeks, take some pictures! :)Good Luck Snappers!

As bad as Rumba Rapids is, I'd prefer it to Depth Charge.Quantum.. Leave it at Thorpe or Move it to Chessington?

    Legoland

From what I've heard the existing area "Wild Woods" will be split, and then another area will be built up next to it. Not a clue what new rides are going to be added though.

The most likely, IMO, thing the world first will be is... Basically inside the building, the train goes onto a piece of track which then does vertical movements like an elevator although obviously a lot sharper and quicker, I also think there'll be special effects and audio whilst in the building. Hopefully I've explained that quite clearly, but I agree with you MonsterDan I think this coaster looks like a standalone coaster, not even looking at the fact it's a world first :)If you look at some construction pictures, the train enters the building, and it exits it about 8/10 meters below, going backwards. So I think the above sounds the most likely.
  8. Eventually the plus/minus thing will balance out. I started off with a few minus' but as others have said, it's nothing to worry about. I'd just think extra carefully when your posting.Another thing I've noticed though lately with all these new members is the amount of pointless new topics,New people's I recommend you really do search everywhere to see if a similar topic exists, and then ask yourself is it really 100% relevant, or are people going to find it interesting/fun to talk about. An idea I had recently is, too create a few more roles in the forum and have a couple of "Forum Manager" type roles, where 2 people especially knowledgeable about that particular park would get that role and can patrol that forum and make admins lives easier. Also new members could PM a Forum Manager about whether a topic is worth starting. So there could be 2 Forum Managers for Thorpe Park2 Forum Managers for Chessingtonand 2 Forum Managers for Alton TowersWhat do you guys think? I was pretty pleased with myself when I thought it up.
  9. Yep, definately, on a day which ended up filling to capacity, in the morning I was allowed to stay on Nemesis Inferno 3 or 4 times ( can't remember exactly ) without getting off.Ahh good times :)But these tips really will help anyone.

Pictures of the forest part of the ride are now available. In my opinion this looks absolutely unbelieveable!Towers TimesThanks to TowersTimes
  11. That sounds awesome! :)Very excited about this year's Halloween Hocus PocusThe fact it's a maze but not a scare maze really appeals to me I'm still struggling to imagine exactly where it is though.
  12. I am so jealous of all these people who have been these past few days! Sounds amazing with all the queue's so low, I would probably actually try a maze for the first time
  13. As Paul has said, excellent topic :)The worst thing you can do is walk around the park seeing what the queue's are like, you could end up walking round 2 or 3 times, and even then you may still think there all too long, just at the start of the day, prioritise the rides you MUST do, the rides you want to do, and the rides you'd like to do but your not bothered about. Gandhi's advice is spot on in the order you should do the day, especially about getting there early, you can get Colossus, Stealth and Nemesis Inferno done a good handful of times by 11, and will really start your day of before the park becomes all atmospheric and busy as the day goes on.Also as Paul said, you'll struggle finding queue's with short queue's after 12pm, in fact there likely to be very long/extreme, I am another one who used to walk around the park until I found something I could be bothered to queue for.And as others have said, Fright Nights, can be a brilliant day out so enjoy it
  14. That can be fixed by Thorpe simply running it at a more intense setting that's actually worth queuing the time it gets, It in my opinion is the most "hit and miss" ride on park. Sometimes you get absolutely fantastic rides, but the majority of the time, you don't. It won't be leaving anytime soon though, it is iconic and it fits in perfectly with Lost City, it also is a great start and end to the day seeing it swing high over the lake.
  15. Agreed, on forums in particular, you can read something and in your mind hear it as quite aggressive. Everyone on this forum that I've spoken to, is absolutely great fun and brilliant to talk to and discuss what we're all here for, Thorpe Park, Chessington and Alton Towers ( The main ones ) Usually things aren't intended as they come across.
  16. Recently I've noticed quite a lot of new members, a few of which have received many -1's. It's great we're getting new members but the post quality shouldn't be compromised. Therefore I thought it'd be handy for a Tips for New Members topic, where anyone can post tips or advice they think would be handy for new members to know.A few of mine:- Before anything else, read all Guidelines and rules topics- Before posting, I recommend watching the forum for a few days at least and seeing how it works, where information is, to minimize the amount of new topics where the information is somewhere else.- The obvious check, and check again spelling and grammar, just make sure it makes sense! Some of yours ?
  17. Out of anything, my favourite ride in the dark is Nemesis at Alton Towers. At Thorpe Park, it's Saw, that fateful time when it took 3 hours to get on in an 1 hour long queue let me experience it and it really is brilliant in the dark. Not 3 hours good though
  18. Sorry, but how do you do the spolier thing ?

Sorry to double post, as I said, rcdb does , very occasionally get things wrong, and they did jump the gun with the name situation. The page is now back to saying "unknown" as you can see hereIt may still be called Surrender, but I'm glad that at the moment we can think it's not
  20. Much MUCH busier than that... ( I would think)It's been busier than that on Sunday's before Fright NightsAlways always always think it'll be heaving otherwise it will almost definitely put a damper on your day.

Agree completely!Whilst it's not a bad name, it's not good enough IMO.I will also be going during Adrenaline week and at the rate there going at the moment, there will be a lot for us to look at!

Not very often but they do make mistakes, They started off saying Saw had 4 inversions, and also it says Nemesis' G-force is 3 ( which would be the same as Air's... ) which is wrong as it's 4.Also, if the lift is like The Hulk's at IOA, that would be fantastic as that is pretty brilliant. This ride just keeps looking better and better.
  23. Thats another thing I love about Chessington, it still dies down towards the end of the day, whenever I've been to Thorpe, it's stayed busy right till 10 ( or whatever the closing time is)I tried to get to Halloween Hocus Pocus as soon as I could to try and get it at it's quietest, but the 26th I am expecting to be busy.
