Alton Towers - How Busy Will It Be?
We're using two of the Sun free entry tickets (well, we actually bought them off eBay because I'd rather poke my eyes out with sticks than read The Sun ) - are these valid for ERT?

Alton Towers - How Busy Will It Be?
Roll on the 22nd October Last year we didn't stay late as we only stayed in a Travelodge for one night (before) so this year can have a full day on park as we are staying 21st & 22nd

Alton Towers - How Busy Will It Be?
Hi Fred - schools aren't off on 22nd Oct are they?

Legoland
When I went to Legoland with my other half in June, we witnessed an attempted queue jump - by a group of obvious traveller kids on the Boating School ride. They were "trying to find their mum in the queue" apparently - us, a particularly annoyed woman and her husband behind, and a group of Indian chaps succeeded in not letting them get past - and when we got to the front, the woman informed the Ride Op what they had done - and the Ride Op then checked with us quietly to check she was telling the truth - he was a bit gutted that we backed up the story because he knew what he was about to have to deal with, the poor chap! Needless to say, after we pulled away in our boat, we didn't see another boat behind us for the entirety of the ride - reason being the kids were kicking off on the loading platform and refused to leave. We really really felt for the poor guy who was operating the ride but fair play for not letting them ride

Alton Towers - How Busy Will It Be?
We're off to AT on 22nd October - am I right in saying most schools are off the week after? I'm guessing it should be one of the quieter (quietest?) days to go during Scarefest?

The Smiler
Anyone else think it's a bit concerning that Alton Towers haven't made an official word on the closure - or put anything on Twitter (unless I've missed it)... could it be something serious?

The Smiler
I'm supposed to be going to Alton in October, wonder if The Smiler will be fine by then?

Stealth Ice Cream Shower Photo Shoot
Was just saying to Mr. Fish - I'm not sure if photo 5 is me next to planenut at the front - there was one ride near the start where he ended up at the front and I filled the seat next to him Can't believe they used a pic with an empty train! EDIT: Don't think it is me, t-shirt is too yellow Is it Fish?

X
Rode X yesterday for the first time since it's "rebirth" - have to say, with the funds available I am quite impressed, and has certainly breathed a bit of life into what was an odd ride... thumbs up from me. Particularly like the light effects in the queue line tunnels, and the ride itself certainly suits the new "family orientated" Thorpe.

The Loggers & Rocky combo was another highlight of the day for me! Never have I been so drenched on Loggers - Complete and utter face full of water EDIT: There's a handful of photos on my Facebook too - but no people in them mind you

Rush
Appeared to be back on 2 swings today

Stealth Ice Cream Shower Photo Shoot
I've just got back to Portsmouth - alas no free ice cream for us but there was a group photo in the fake snow shower after our many rides on Stealth pluk - worry ye not, despite us being the first rides of the morning, and us being on 20+ trains, not one rollback happened. Good fun in the Swarm queue that started out as 15 mins and ended up being nearly an hour because of an E-Stop, a V*-Stop and a technical fault. I'm pretty shattered and I only did Stealth about 10 times and left about 3pm, so you lot still on park will be shattered by hometime! Another fab opportunity and day out thanks to TPM and Thorpe Park - well done to all concerned! (Oh, and - I really like the new X. First time on it, impressed with that they've done!) * "essential cleaning"

Since it's an early morning, to make the event extra extra special, could a rollback be arranged please? Kaithanxbai

And now it's closed again....

Stealth Ice Cream Shower Photo Shoot
Was up at 5:40am this morning for work - looking forward to setting my alarm even earlier for tomorrow for a jaunt up the A3!

Stealth Ice Cream Shower Photo Shoot
SO looking forward to this now I can be squeezed in - thanks so much Thorpe Park and TPM! I'm driving from Portsmouth, going to leave about 5:40 I think to be on the safe side! I won't be staying all day either, as I have commitments in the evening, so probably will depart around 2/3pm. I'm not fussed what route we take after early morning Stealth - I'm easy, just coming for the Stealthin' and the socialisin'!

Park Operations
Sounds like the Tidal queue was correct - wow. Still, maybe that'd make the soaking even more satisfying after that wait! I agree on Slammer - I wouldn't be surprised if it does open before the end of the year, but I'm guessing Merlin don't want to chance their arm too much what with Ramases recently - wouldn't be too good for PR. Rush on one swing would be a no-go for me too. Hope it returns to 2 swings soon, as that will help dissipate the queues. Certainly sounds as if yesterday was an exceptionally busy day.

Rameses Revenge
True, very true. Wonder if it'll come back exactly as before or modified?
-
Park Operations
Cheers for the clarification - wow, those are some epic queues. 2hrs 40 mins for Tidal at peak? Thanks for the Slammer info - that's a shame if that's true. I haven't had a ride this season, and I don't think I will get one now by the sounds of it! Rush on one swing....? Can only assume that there must be a problem with the other swing for that to be happening with a park of that capacity! My friend said she only got on one ride in the time she was there, and since it was a school party (I'm guessing younger kids), and if she was there 11-3, and they had to have lunch, then that's evidently quite possible!

Rameses Revenge
No RMT and now no Ramases until 2014 then...

Park Operations
Shocking eh? Maybe it's the sheep mentality of just joining a queue without knowing what it's for? Apparently some queues today were up to (and over) the 2 hour mark - not sure if anyone can verify that but that's what my friend told me (admittedly not a theme park fan so don't take it as gospel )

Park Operations
A teacher friend was at Thorpe Park this morning, this was taken at 11am. Fast-track tastic! My view on Fast-track - I've never liked it, and never will like it. And, more to the point, I never have, and never will buy it
