  1. But worth every penny....except a JD and coke! Also worth noting that you can get what I'd call a good deal on their hotels. Bell rock offers a room with no view of the hotel grounds and I booked it for £400 for 2 adults for 3 nights in Oct 13! Similarly...colesseo do a room under the bar for around the same price, although I wouldn't like the noise!
  2. Bottom line is, if you need a number 2 at towers....go to the hotels!

Sounds more like a children's ride, that's my issue with it! Better name than Rita I guess! As for stealth...I still think the park was going for irony, it's their tallest ride but there is nothing "stealthy" about it!
  7. Erm.....from memory, Towers' certainly didn't last year!

Someone at Thorpe is being very clever with the clues to give themselves a laugh at enthusiasts who think The Swarm will be turned backwards! They are just fuelling the rumours for s***s and giggles when it's nothing to do with swarm! That's my theory!

The evolution of a thrill park into a tacky resort!!!
  10. Towers in Feb and March, Chessington and Thorpe in March, Portaventura in June and Europa Park in October I'll visit the merlin parks numerous times but that's all I have actually planned for now!

If X gets a retheme, my issue would be that it shows the park intend to hold onto the ride when there are much better rides it could be replaced with!

Well we've done well to get to almost January before talking about an X://nwo spruce up. Just like we've done EVERY year since southparks.org

It's a no brainer, even though it means me driving an extra 160 miles, I'd much prefer to stay in splash at the rates quoted above. I think they've priced themselves way too high, even a premier inn locally is far cheaper and I'd imagine far more comfortable. I would expect prices to be around £100 for a room that sleeps 4 when all is said and told

Rip off, won't be staying, the end.

Is there? I thought that CCR ran in between saw and the loggers tunnel?
  17. Technically not an on ride photo but here's my onride footage from blue fire from the start of November...I pull some strange faces!

So it doesn't actually matter if the holders are automated or not, just that they need to be spread out more
  19. Graeme replied to th13teen's topic in UK Attractions
So it's the public in the uk that cause baggage problems? Why don't they stack? No physical bar checks, so the ride hosts don't have to stand by a seat and wait for the person to place their bag in and then physically check before moving on. At europa it's just a visual look at lights for the most part and off you go. I stick by what I say, in my opinion merlin have got it right with pre batching/air gates luggage holds, they're more secure and allows a quicker throughput, even if we do blame people who are "useless at life" as the reason for station holders not working. These luggage holds negate that, thus making it the sensible option
  20. Graeme replied to th13teen's topic in UK Attractions
I can because it has no impact on throughput, riders still have to put their bags over. The automated systems at europa are no different throughput wise to ones see on nemesis etc except they are automated! I think merlin have got it right on all major attractions installed from Rita onwards...get riders to get rid of their bags before entering the air gates so it has no impact on dispatch times.

When we talk abut these automated cupboards, I only saw them on blue fire so they're not everywhere
  22. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't Alton struggling to fill their current hotels?
  23. Terenzi horror nights for me
  24. Does anyone know if they extend opening times of the main park from 1st - 4th November? I can see they do on the 31st October
  25. That video is FANTASTIC!
