  1. So basically, like with the Superman's before it, the person was probably over the recommended size limit and due to the negative g's was flung out of the ride... A sad, but expected end to this incident...
  2. Nope, just the patience to stand in a long and boring queue whilst you watch Fastrack and Forwards people get on quickly...

Apparently it was all ready to go on Monday, but required signing off... Not the weeks of death and destruction some people were proclaiming it would mean to the ride... I would say it would take them longer to access it at the very least than the 2 hours for Swarm because of the tightness of the area, so from the incident to Monday being fixed up makes sense imo... EDIT - It's reopened... Panic over lads!

Apparently the reason Gerstlauer have been called is to basically say "She's good to go" after a quick check... Of course, the problem is that they're currently dealing with a slightly more serious matter in Texas... So unsurprisingly, the issue itself was dealt with pretty damn quickly, just like Swarm's was... Just getting the company to sign it off is the issue...

I'm more interested to find out WHAT Gerstlauer have been called tbh...
  6. School days </3 Hateful, hateful days apart from the first and last hours...
  7. Plus most foreign countries have air con everywhere... Every building in America is like a freezer...
  8. And 1 train op... So, Fastrack?
  9. A new 'Trooper Bear' apparently... *Theme Park Collective
  10. Length of Hero - 1'282.8ft Length of Smiler - 3'838.6ft Length of Swarm - 2'543ft Let's not compare 2/3 months of construction against rides that are bigger and longer and hence have more to consider ok?
  11. The trains for the Intamin multi-looper are testing!

From what I was told from an aerospace engineer one bolt is the case, just as a precaution in case of the engine catching fire for whatever reason... #weirdengineeringfacts
  13. I think Six Flags use Q-Bot... Which is insanely expensive and is constantly linked up to the park's database to limit numbers... Q-Bot is a very decent system imo from when I used it at Heide Park as well...

One bolt holds a plane engine to the wing... Temperature shock is the most likely cause yes, especially given the severe temperature change we've had since Friday... EDIT - One hell of a close up from TST...

Heat expansion on the metal is the issue here, with the built up pressure already existing within the structure built up to cause the bolt to sheer (as designed when embracing high levels of stress/strain) and ping off into the sunset... New bolt, bit of cool-down and I'd imagine we'll be alright to go... As Sidders said, the best comparison are the warping train lines...
  16. Intamin clearly jealous that other ride manufacturers were stealing their murder thunder... [/tasteless joke] Regarding Texas, if the Superman incidents are anything to go by, size might mean the difference... Though staff not checking physically is another thing to consider (especially at Six Flags where it's all visual because in reality, it's all you really need)...

How long was Swarm down for when it did this?
  18. To be fair, they've always had the Merlin Magic Wand thingy in regards to being charitable... Really going to town with the family stuff atm though, don't think we'll see much change though until 2015 in regards to how the attendances variate, as with Thorpe, it has a really big reputation in regards to becoming the whole 'thrill capital' and not particularly the nicest park to have a day out with your family... Hence they have to fight against that reputation first before they can actually reap the benefits... That will be the biggest hurdle in all of this...

Typical Gerstlauer and their poorly manufactured rides, not as if any other manufacturer ever has this problem...
  20. The Belgians recently took affront to Walibi looking into a paid system, and have since changed their plans... Apathy is a lovely trait of the British...
  21. Also, few people complain about Disney because they have the capacity to run it reasonably well and limit the hell out of it... Apart from Midway Mania or so I hear...
  22. Standard time it takes Katun to put on a second train is 5 seconds from my experience...
  23. You can just ask them for one... Although no one really understands the point in them... There's not enough for people to trade them properly either... So as per, it's a flawed but good idea...
  24. A weird mix of the American counterparts and home of the delightfully unique Space Fantasy Mack Spinning Coaster, this park have recently debuted a Resident Evil (Biohazard) variation on the scare maze genre with the addition of guns... Groups of 8 enter and do the usual stick of destroying whichever class virus this one focuses on... Sounds like an interesting idea and a neat addition to the park... It's also led to this food offering... Source - http://kotaku.com/a-frightening-look-inside-japans-newest-resident-evil-833310331
