Comparing prices to older coasters isn't well balanced, as it's got a lot more expensive to construct rides and do all the landscaping as well. Times change, and costs go most definitely up.Plus, Merlin are well known to include all the extra costs (theming, landscaping and marketing) into the final cost. What Mark said is right though, a lot of people had a good proper moan at Merlin for going with Gerstlauer instead of something like B&M. Good to see them proving the doubters wrong.

More pictures of Wild Eagle as the loop is completed...Hmmm B&M

Call me patronising, then be patronising in your post. Pot, kettle, black.I just can't win here, people moan about my cynical and negative posts, then when I be positive about things, people pick stuff up in them. Yes I do know B&M have stopped doing pre-drops in recent times, but without really focusing on the bit leading up to the first drop (you know, because of the massive dive loop that is much more interesting), I was expecting a more steeper exit off the lift hill instead of the really small gradual thing we see currently. Something we see leaving Hydra's station perhaps before the Jo-Jo Roll?Plus ninja'd by a post that says nothing bar dots? Evidently a joke lost on us with simpler minds who don't want to know everything. Sorry folks, maybe another time. I'll go back to being negative.

Not all of us spend hours staring at every small details on the plans. I like to be surprised if some respects during construction and indeed, opening and initial riding. It's kind of a shame heavily detailed plans are so readily available, really removes the discovery and true wonder at what's being built.

No pre-drop eh?Slow descent into the dive loop it is then... Lovely.
-
Actually sexy.Need to go.
-
They spent 6 grand on a camera? What piece of theming is being sacrified for that?
-
Dunno WHAT ride could have been the inspiration for this... No siree...Looks 'cool' though

New coaster for Billund...Polar X-plorer as part of a new Polar Zone, which will also feature a slide and restaurant... The ride will feature a freefall drop, and PENGUINS!Unknown if it's Zierer or Intamin though...
-
^Yeah, there's still AGES to go yet because of where the bottom of the first drop sits. It's going to look rather imposing.
-
Also, that's a support. But yay for construction. Imagine all the trackwork will be done by the end of the season, then it's taking fuzzy photos from Monk's Walk for several months of the theming. Hooray!

http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/marvel/avengers/Oh I want this... A lot... <3

The trims aren't there YET. But based on other B&Ms, those two holes on the side mean it's prime trim location.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/japan/8818400/Japan-offers-10000-free-trips-to-foreigners.html Evidently, now is the time to plan a trip to Japan... Take me to Tokyo please...

^I don't mind Facebook links until they spam up walls and news. It was incredibly annoying during the initial weeks of Towers' Greatest Coaster voting, and if my News Feed will be full of "X has been taken by the Swarm" then count me out.Rest of the site finally loaded, awesome background. Well done video. Just needs to keep with the updating which is something a few sites don't do.I'm also getting excessive Raptor vibes. Which is good.
-
No Swarm, I do NOT want you to post on Facebook as me. I want to follow your construction without you interfering with my life. Also, could it not take longer to load?EDIT - Yeah, given up waiting, anyone want to give full details/images of what's on the site?

Wild Eagle rises from the ground...Nice and steeply might I add ;)EDIT - Just found a picture of Verbolten's special trick track... Looks rather different...

Sexuality will always be controversial, purely because of the general sense of outcast it does bring to someone's life.Of course maybe in the future, more people will be understanding in the playgrounds, but it's up to the parents and teachers to ensure that it is something that should potentially be discussed in classes. But of course, if we were to introduce such a thing, the small-minded unwanting minority would no doubt yell loudly and stamp their feet thinking that their children would be 'corrupted' or some such nonsense. It is still ridiculous though bullying in schools over it. Something does need to be generally done about it.

^Think what Dan means is the additional theming (or for Thorpe, lack thereof), rather than the actual attraction line-up...And yeah, sod Experiment 10... Never in a million years for me please... But it's good that something rather unique has turned up over here... I think only Thorpe will ever have the gall to go to the level seen over in the States (on scariness levels), but maybe newer creative teams will make these events much bigger and better in future...

Nail on head. The Wing-Rider concept isn't about speed or forces, it's about interaction and the open sensation you get from the seating. If that final inline is taken quickly, then the near misses will be, well missed. But if taken slowly, the experience is heightened much more. Kinda like how Colossus goes through them at about 5mph.But of course, trims are the bane of our enthusiast lives, and hence should be mocked and ridiculed because they ruin coasters just by existing.

B&M have recently been doing a LOT of steep lift hills... Recent Hypers like Diamondback, Krake and Raptor are all nice and steep... Not really that noticeable on the rides, but it can look really good from the off-ride perspective...Also, LOL TRIMS! To be expected these days... Whoever said they couldn't have them because there's no straight track must be feeling a tad foolish now

The Lion King 3DWhilst I'm not a fan of 3D as an overall thing, I just couldn't resist seeing the best animated Disney film ever made in the cinema... And it seems that many other teenagers feel the same way, reconnecting to childhood is quite a nice thing to do, especially when it's as simple as seeing an old classic film on the big screen...I got chills from the opening scene, and essentially the usual emotional responses for each scene followed (MUFASA!!!!)...Good news is that the 3D works... It really adds depth to the scenery and does indeed add to a few scenes here and there specifically... Can hope that if they do this conversion to other films, they will also share the quality...Even better is that the awful Morning Report song featured in the DVD isn't in it... Huzzah! Purely original version...It's still brilliant, go see it... If only for Jeremy Irons <310/10
