Alton Towers Trip Reports
Duel opened at 1pm?I'm sure as hell I went on it at like, 12 :)Yeah there were a few odd breakdowns here and there, Skyride, Rita, Rapids and Oblivion all had issues that I saw, but all opened again (Blivvy was down for about 10 minutes)...Also, no Hex? Poor show old chap... If there's time for Charlie there's time for Hex...

Introduce Yourself
Looks like Hayley Williams...

Th13teen
Went on it again today with my Mum who had never been on it before...She really enjoyed it, and I realised the high amount of airtime the actual drop component brings... It is actually a rather fun ride really, and it's certainly grown on me and bedded in more than Rita ever will...Plus the launch

SAW: Alive
Well, many on here were thinking that the actors were very hot stuff this year...

Rant
I'm not going to go through this all again...At least you get media coverage... Drogba so much as sneezes and you get a Sky Sports News report on it...

Th13teen
Thirteen does do what it's designed to do... And be a good enough coaster for the families to replace Corkscrew... With a very likely higher throughput to boot...I enjoy it to be fair, as I wasn't taken in by all the hype and never expected anymore than a family coaster, and also, the drop is actually very well done even if I would feel the ride would have been better served with said drop nearer the beginning to set off the ride rather than the middle...Plus, it has the best launch in the park <3

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
And THIS has a storyline?Aside from the probable obvious "Stuff's going down, you need to escape blah, blah, blah" (Not a Thorpe based dig, but worldwide)...

Heide Park
It's still outrageously CUTE

Tidal Wave
If people think Tidal Wave's water is dirty they should go to Flamingoland and do their spillwater...THAT IS DIRTY!

Chessington World of Adventures - 2011 Meet - 11th April
Absolutely appaulling excuse, clone yourself!Ok, I've now chosen my side of not going around with TPM for the day, however will probably appear at the 10:30 meet to see and hug people! As an aside, who here will be going from Clapham and getting on the 8:55? Hopefully a few cos I don't want to be alone

Gardaland
Is what I do when looking at trips abroad...Then research deeper into the parks...I would happily go to places that everyone hates (Movie Park in Germany, Six Flags America)... Just because I don't care for public opinion... Even a park that brings in millions a year can be crap, so having such stats thrown at me makes absolutely no difference... Never take things at face value... Never... If all enthusiasts had that view parks like Knoebels, Kennywood, Oakwood and Parc Asterix would probably be forever overlooked by their bigger rivals... And that's just not a good thing...Don't need to compare parks to see awful operations these days... It's generally obvious how good or bad it is...My point in the comparison of coasters that it's only fair game if the types are the same... Comparing rides like Nemesis and Colossus is quite frankly stupid, but Rita and Stealth is fair game...

Gardaland
Well comparing parks half the time is like people comparing rides like Saw and Oblivion... Pointless...No-one should rely on other's opinions about going to a park... It's INCREDIBLY hard to compare parks of certain calibre to others...Indeed, there's very few parks that can have direct comparisons, and that's generally the Magic Kingdom's of the world... I often seen very little point in comparing parks to each other, because each park is different and has it's own fundamental system of operation, there's so many variable factors to take in it's often impossible to actually balance them all together...May as well compare Dreamland with Europa Park...

Gardaland
Why does everything HAVE to be a competition?Does it really matter if a park is deemed by some to not be as good as another, I'd rather go to a park with a blank slate (like I'm doing for Germany thankfully) and not continuously comparing it to another park in a different country with a completely different method and style of running things...

More importantly, why is Flake Lorenz from Rammstein advertising BK?

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Well considering Raptor IS THE SAME RIDE TYPE AS LC12 then maybe you should show some more interest in the reviews of people...Why is it wrong to be interested in other projects away from home? So what if I don't get to go on it for years if at all, what if it's a World's First ride? Even if it was only pictures watching TTD get built was amazing to see, same goes for a few other rides like Tatsu, Kingda Ka, World of Colour, Cars Land, Starry Night Ripper and many more I don't care to mention cos I'd be here all night...The point is, not only is there more to life than Staines, but just because you're not going on a ride in the near future doesn't mean it can't be an exciting development and should warrant more attention than it's getting compared to a pile of dirt...

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Ok, so basically because something isn't likely to be ridden in the future I shouldn't be excited?Sorry Cars Land, Insane, Alpengeist, Black Diamond, Cheetah Hunt, Starry Night Ripper, Blue Fire, Dizz and Van Helsing's Factory, you just can't hold my attention anymore since I'm not gonna be riding you in the near future...Do whatever, but the fact is that there's at least something more interesting to talk about with Raptor (which should be of interest considering it's the same ride type of LC12 ANYWAYS), then a pile of island dirt being moulded...

Gardaland
*ahem* Parks don't need to be full of special things... And hell, Mirabilandia only has two 'stand-out' rides that you've listed... I barely hear anything else from the park apart from Reset...EDIT - Plus the competition is a bit... Well... Spread out when you talk about Etnaland (which is on Sicily rather than the mainland if I recall) and Rainbow, which is 4 hours away minimum from Mirabilandia... Sure there's 4 'major' parks, but I think Raptor's style and look is more to do with how they view the Italian/European market, it that they actually do like a good story and theme added into their rides...

Gardaland
I literally jizzed myself...

Hansa Park
DIE SCHLANGE VON MIDGARDTheir new Gerstlauer family coaster set deep within a story... You want pics? Here's some!It won't open with it's completed theming (the park did this with Fluch von Novogorod, but judging by the pics so far, I don't think that is a bad thing... Especially judging by how Fluch looked WITHOUT theming...
-
Hansa Park
Since I'm getting excited for going here AND I've just seen a new POV of their biggest ride I'm making a topic for it...Located in Skiersdorf Germany, this was originally opened as the second Legoland park, but only lasted a very short time and became HANSA LAND!Home to 4 coasters with a 5th on the way, it has a few stand-out weird rides... And focuses a lot on some great (and not so great theming), including:DIE GLOCKE NESSIE RIO DORADO ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDFLUCH VON NOVGOROD! A launched Eurofighter with ENCLOSED drop/launch/lift and amazing theming... Expect a MASSIVE trip report in June... Including their new Gerstlauer family coaster, the SNAKE OF MIDGARD!

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Well if we all only bothered with rides that we were only gonna ride in the near future it'd be a rather boring (and lonely in some topics) forum wouldn't it?Might as well close the Aussie park thread then...
