  1. I managed to juggle working at Chessie throughout my entire two years of College and still got Triple Distinction...Now Chris does make a valid point that not everyone can get help from parents, I am lucky in that I can (I have enough chicken and fish to last several weeks from CostCo) get help from them, but if I couldn't, then my years at Chessie would be 10x more useful than they were...It's all down to personal choice and life... But I'm certainly one to support any 15 year old actively looking for a job... Minimum wage at that age is fab (even though Chessie does not give out minimum wage, near enough 6 quid an hour last time I checked)...Again, if you can get the balance right, go straight for it... If need be hours at Chessie are easy to alter if you make friends with your TL

    Glee!

And now it would seem they're going to do a Bieber episode...Porbably be the only one where they 'improve' (in the loosest sense of the word) the original songs...Dire American crap...
  3. ^You see, because of my birthday being when it is, I didn't have to worry about my GCSEs... Since I'd done them before I was 15...So I had A-Levels to contend with instead... So my points still stand... I even took several days off in Easter just to revise, so it's all a case of getting the balance you need...
  4. Why? I started working when I was in 6th form... I applied at the start of the first season I was 16 (I.e. 2007, since my birthday is August)... If you can balance the work from school and job then you can easily do both... I know I did...
  5. ^For me, working at Chessie for 3 years helped improve a lot of stuff about my life, and also improved my money situation...Some people do really want to work at theme parks and their industry, mainly because of an interest in it... Working at Chessie has certainly... opened my eyes towards the industry in general and how it's run... There's certainly something to be learned there...And of course applying for jobs atm is a bloody nightmare... I doubt I could get a part-time job right now if I ran around Stafford with CVs... Why not plump for somewhere that will take people on willingly without that much... Not sure on the word really, but hey, long story short Josh, lay off him and let him apply if he bloody well wants to...
  6. You could just wait till Summer... Saves hassle and allows a bit more free time on school related times...Or ring them... I'm assuming you emailed them but you're more likely to get an proper answer if you call them and ask to be put through to a HR person...
  7. That makes no sense... I applied at their cut-off age (16) and there was no trouble... Unless you're trying to explain that you're currently 15 and due to turn 16 soon hence the unsureness about it all...
  8. Wasn't this the thing that leaked the parking payment news? And no, because my AP runs out in October, and also I will probably end up having it upgraded to Premium at some point... (Especially if that is a birthday present)...
  9. Alternatively, it won't have any form of ingenious backstory like A-Kid said as Mr Wardley believes that normal guests don't give a crap about backstory? It will probably be some form of dark theme where we have to attempt to escape something bad happening but naturally it happens and we're caught in it, then manage to escape... Although... That WANTS!
  10. Erm. Okay...Are we playing that with the assumption that by breaking a world record makes your ride world class?Josh kinda hit the nail on the head with the difference between setting and class. Two completely different things really and sometimes hard to separate depending on what people are looking for.It also will no doubt be affected by what rides people have been on. A serious question to all who believe rides like Saw and Colossus can be deemed as 'World Class', how many coasters have you experienced? Experiencing lots of different rides certainly will make a massive difference as often those with more rides under their belt have a lot more wealth of knowledge to pick apart rides and compare. If someone hasn't set foot outside the UK (or home area), then of course such rides would be considered such as that's the limit of their experience. In my top 10, I have 2 UK coasters and that's it. Personal experiences of rides come into play just as much as opinion of rides.
  11. Only if you use it in a certain fashion... It's extremely easy to help organise things between many people quickly who may not be as easy to get into touch with for various reasons...The people who spend their lives playing Farmville however... Urgh...

    Glee!

Because it's the internet... That's why... It's like it was made for arguements as they occur everywhere every minute of every day...For the record... Glee is an absolutely awful thing that kills off classic songs like Don't Stop Believing... ARGH!
  13. Welcome to the Merlin Entertainments EDF Energy London Eye and 4-D Show...Basic jist is a 3 year sponsorship of the attraction which will be added as the place goes into a quick rehab period... I guess we'll find out how well Purple and Orange go together...Also the Metro has a report on the public opinions of some...EDF? In MY London Eye?!
  14. ^It is THE best log flume in the world... I hate the fact that some people on other websites reckon now is the time for IOA to replace it...IDIOTS!
  15. Can't expect much when your budget isn't exactly high...Much rather him there rather than... Nothing quite frankly...
  16. JoshC loses points for calling many awesome people (Stephen Fry, Simon Pegg, many more) ****s...What Mark said...Twitter is fun...

    I'll be first... WHO?
  18. Cancellations of projects can and will happen, but since this one is more due to Dreamworks pulling out I agree, Towers evidently messed up something bad...
  19. The idea behind the placing of Abdab's in the Vampire queue is good... It provides something extra to look at and they are dressed in a way to fit the theme... Though it would be good if they moved, considering the lack of budget Chessie have, a decent addition for a small cost is always a plus...However, I have seen too many times where kids are jumping through the fencing to play on the the trailer one... Dunno about the other two but I guess it's the same...The Vamp queue does need more work done onto it, preferably including some gothic fencing and some other things...But I don't think Chessie did anything wrong with adding them into the queue, and the revamping of Tomb Blaster is perhaps the most successful thing by redoing and old unpopular ride and making it excessively rerideable and popular attraction...

I'm struggling to find anywhere interesting and local (I.e. London) to do my Industrial Placement... Not fun...

Thought that was Staines, even the train announcers say it with a slight side of disdain in their voice...And Ricky, I don't live in Stoke, so get a sense of humour and your facts straight...

There is life outside Staines and Thorpe Park...There's many other places to meet...Down the M25, or up the A305...And a lovely place up north with coasters that are a treat...To the tune of "There is Life Outside Your Apartment from Avenue Q[/bored]I'm also ill and been spending today watching Lord of the Rings once again realising how crap Orlando Bloom is as an actor...
  23. I was being sarcastic as Seb's comment was based upon that exact point.
