  1. People always forget that reverting back to the original is never as good as it was... Especially without the creative minds behind it, it would just feel so forced... LOOK, IT'S NOSTALGIC AND THEREFORE GOOD!
  2. Coar, imagine the wage you must get to come up with the illusion of the interior being different to the exterior... I want that job!
  3. I think most of us said goodbye to it back in 2005... Wonder what IP will be used... Probably Hotel Transylvania...
  4. Who are Thorpe/Merlin aiming to compete with these days? Just curious is all...
  5. To be fair, anyone can rent out the park...
  6. Did Blackfish close the park though? This is nothing compared to it either... Lots of parks in local areas have noise problems, even Europa, they will deal with it in some way...
  7. It was probably cheaper to film it as a modern day adventure rather than set up the whole thing as Victorian... Which is a shame, Victorian era could produce a great immersive theme... It's just an over the top juxtaposition to confuse people at the end of the day...
  8. As if it would ever come to it being shut down, they bring so much to the local area (the lawyers telling locals to moan are being typical lawyers drumming up business), and any application will be rushed through very quickly... Have some sense and logic about this guys...
  9. But would it be really that worthwhile to the park? People aren't going to come back in the future for a new VR experience on the same ride... Plus if you really want to change the story, unless you retheme the walkthrough portion, it will always go underground...
  10. Clearly SOMEONE is lucky enough not to have to endure Southern Rail!
  11. To be fair, you see people screaming on the commute to London, so it doesn't mean it's good...
  12. Park in last week of summer term busy times shocker! It just sounds like a normal summer day, dunno why people here are seemingly getting hyped over it...
  13. And the reason they removed the free entry? The park was full of drunks and homeless people (cited from conversations with local B&B owners), and of course not everyone who visited the park for free would spend money in the park... When are these 10pm closures? We're using a similar argument that Thorpe is busy during Fright Nights, so it should close late during summer, but Summer Nights were empty all the time (hence their cancellation)...
  14. Multiple requests for trade deals because when we leave we have to create brand new ones, that's not exactly surprising news... FTSE is high because the pound died a death so everyone is buying up cheap... Plus the eventual stability of the leadership means that the banks have calmed ever so slightly... Never see any news outlet using stats to benefit an angle either... Ever...
  15. Is there potential to make money full when the rest of the town pretty much opens at 8pm?
  16. It'll just be a similar system of timings like what Disney used for Space Mountain's original soundtrack, which would extend or reduce depending on the train's position... Given that the grey smoke is the loading screen in question, and that the plc will know by the time the ride starts where the others are, I think there's possibly too much being made out of what is common technology...
  17. Is it really that complicated though syncing stuff up to computers these days? You just need some hardcore processing power to ensure that its all done as smoothly as possible, its all going along pretty much the same time and effect timings aren't exactly new technology... The first VR section, being live action will be less demanding on the system as well, which is probably why the CGI section is horrid (see also Nintendo doing Star Fox Zero at low res so it could generate two simultaneous views at once at 60fps)... Just because a system is demanding on processing power doesn't mean its complex, especially when there's only a set amount of potential things being streamed... If it were 58 completely different videos, then THAT would be complex...
  18. I'm sure that's the excuse for the dreadful graphics... What will these systems have? A gyroscope, processor, graphics chip? What's the stats for the Samsung or Oculus compared to the Vive? Mean if most VR systems are just using smartphone power then surely the complexity can't be that high? Weren't Figment doubtful about the readiness of VR to such a large scale as well? That in itself rings the bells of alarm...
  19. There is a park hotel though if you're feeling flush (no idea how much it is)...
  20. The main worry is, what happens to vr based attractions when either: 1 - Interest in VR dies down. 2 - VR is in every household and its not special anymore. Let's be honest VR is certainly nowhere near as complicated as a mechanical ride system... Comparing these glitches to Air's snapping driveshaft is a very apple and orange... Long term, and after new ride hype dies down will show where we stand in dark rides appetite in the UK... Perhaps short termism will win out...
  21. If its a machine thing then it shows how this technology wasn't really ready to be used in such a mass market manner... Might be ahead of the curve as the majority won't have experienced vr before, but technical issues are to be numerous...
  22. The whole PARK is well themed, its very unfair to them just to say the two latest rides are... The Medusa room could be so fab <3
  23. It's not exactly controversial when its quite a common opinion that Taron is great without being fantastic (from sensible goons)...
  24. I wondered how long it would be until we welcomed the Law of Diminishing Returns back to the forums...
