Why can't Chessie or Lego do it? It's obviously to do with the parks thinking it will not be as popular as you might think...Lego DID used to open over the winter period, with the majority (if not all, memory is hazy) open... That's a plus... The negative? It was empty... Granted this was before AdventureZone or whatever they call it, but it probably felt to the management that it just wasn't worthwhile that they opened for Christmas...Evidently, I'd guess Chessie feel the same... It currently has it's Zoo Days, so will no doubt use them as a precursor to how busy they feel the park will be... Oh, and of course they have numerous bits of maintenance to do... Buccaneer isn't even THERE right now... And considering also this is when the park areas begin to teem with vehicles left, right and centre, it's not the safest place, then we add in staff payments and the like...Of course, they could do something at the hotel... Oh wait, they ARE! Well blow me down the park's actually KNOW what they're doing... CHESSIE DO SANTA STUFF!!!!1111Rich you list Adventure Island and Paultons as the two parks who do it... One of which is in a busy costal town, the other is a small family park with two rides that need major maintenance work... Two parks with their biggest rides both being Gerstlauers in comparison to parks with Vampire, Dragon and the rest? And York Dungeons, and Edinburgh Dungeons, and so on...What about all their Sea-Lifes as well?I've never been to the Tower itself when in Blackpool because I've just never really felt like it... And considering how popular the Merlin Brands are there is a very obvious reason why they're doing this for the Tower... And it may also help Blackpool in the long run... The thing about our sea-side resorts is that they are just not as popular as they once were... It's that simple really... So if Merlin can get people thinking "Oh the London Eye is good, let's check out the Tower Eye" and get more punters visiting who may not do normally will mean some more money in the future...Also, why are we complaining about Cheese in Blackpool? The whole bloody place is tacky as hell!

I wonder, if Merlin purchased Caterham would I then get a brand new sea life centre, 4D experiences, my own Dungeons and maybe even a bit of Octopus Gardens.It would no longer be called caterham on the hill. It would be.. Caterham on the Eye. I love it.

A ride like Storm Surge but not?Sense, your post does not make...And regarding Ice Age as an IP, they did the random attraction to tie into the third film, but they shouldn't dedicate an area to it, like Shrek for Towers, it's had multiple films and just cannot go any further... It should be left in peace... Originality is something Chessie should focus on due to the park's in place structure... No more IPs Merlin!

Inversions in many cases are not the point of the coaster...Stealth is one of them... In my top 5 coasters 1 inverts, and that's Nemesis, only 2 more inverting coasters appear in my top 10...Tbh, I'd rather pick on your idiocy of removing an entire coaster just because the sponsorship is going... Let's look at what Six Flags are doing atm when removing their sponsors on rides, are they removing the Tony Hawk rides? No, renaming! Evel Kenival? Rename! Terminator Salvation? RENAME!Then again, your plan involves 4 coasters in TWO years!!!! I know this is for people's ideas, but can we not at least be relatively logical in our ideas? Jesus wept...

It doesn't go at the same speed... 20mph is a BIG difference...And all Accelerators can rollback, in fact I wager a guess that all launched rides can rollback... Sometimes the power from the system just isn't enough... It's happened before I'm sure...Also, it's GOES... And, DOES...

Granted the backwards section isn't long (or of any length in fact), but the launch up-hill and the coaster portion (and roof on fire) provide an extremely fun and enjoyable ride that made me want to go on again and again...Top Thrill DragsterQuite possibly the BEST accelerator in the world... Lap-bars, seat-belts, an amazingly tall structure and some awesome SFX (and a grandstand, take THAT Stealth), give this ride an excellent atmosphere... And when it's the first ride to make me nervous in years and then cause me to be extremely pumped up afterwards for 30 minutes, just shows how amazing this ride is...The BeastAhhhhh Wooden coasters are always fun, as are rides that you can watch from various areas of the park... But this ride goes against all reason... You only see the first (of two) lift hills on this, and then you get treated to 5/6 minutes of a very fast jaunt in the woods, picking up speed continuously over long downward straights... In the back and front this is amazing, and when you add pitch black night into the equation, it truly is stunning...Tonnere de ZeusAnother Wooden coaster, but this isn't nicknamed "Ton of Air" for no reason... Beautiful setting against the lake and again you don't see that much of the main bulk of the ride from the pathways/queue, just the ending and the brakes (of excessive stoppage and DOOM)... It's just an insanely fun ride that you will not spend in your seat 90% of the time...

So to celebrate Marc's love of restraunts in the Thorpe Park area we're hopefully going to play a little game.On Selected days people can choose what restraunt Marc will visit and for whoever guesses correctly they win ten points. Like you you mean?I mean the day I saw you at Chessie for the 'meet', you woke up late, got Marc to leave the park and pick you up, came in at 1, and when you met up with the rest of us you spent 99% of the time on your phone...And then you left at like... 3... You can say it's a bore all you want, but if you only give a park 2 hours for a chance then you're not in the right mind-set... Especially when you don't even try and talk to other people just on your phone...

Where does one begin? First I suppose I'll say what I think will happen over this closed season. I'm also only thinking about stuff that is actually possible- Addition and expansion of toilet facilities- Improvements to both car parks (we already know this from the planning application)- General spruce up of the park, lick of paint here and there, general maintenance on the rides- Bubbleworks de-branding- Toy Town getting a re-theme- Possible changes to Vampire to celebrate 21 yearsWhat I'd love to see happen at the park over time:Transylvania (to become part of Europe)- Vampire getting a massive theming overhaul everywhere- Transylvania to get a bat cave- Bubbleworks to get ripped out and replaced by a new horror theme and ride system, the same as Phantom Manor at DLP and taxi ride at Madame Tussauds London. That would highly improve capacity issuesPirates Cove (to become part of Europe)- Games building to be taken down and replaced by a pirate-themed play area for kids- Part of the grass area becomes like a Pirate village - act as an entrance to new ride- New ride to take up most of the grass area (still thinking up ideas)- New 'sets' to hide boring areasToy Town - to be rethemed to one of the other areas- Toadies to be replaced by two flat rides, one themed to the rest of the area and one themed to Mystic Asia/Wild Asia- Trucks to make way for new grand entrance to Land of the DragonsLand of the Dragons (to become part of Europe)- New retheme to make it a more of a medieval European town- The main building should be gutted for new restaurant, exterior themed to a castle - New restaurant will be themed to like a grand knights victory dinner, type of food would be burgers/meat etc like the bbq places in the other merlin parks. It would also have two floors to make room for more table space- Cafe nero would be gutted to make way for the kitchen area for the restaurant. - The show area would become a shop for the area, selling fake knight gear (plastic swords etc), princess dresses and dragon stuff- The canopy capers would change layout and become the castle fort walls with some bridges and stuff- New entrance that replaces truckers would have a drawbridge and small moat- Fury would now travel through the castle wall with some lighting effects, make the second lift hill a bit more interesting- Griffins Galleon would now be outside the castle walls with water now surrounding the ride, meeting up with the moatNot sure if the above is possible but it'd be coolWild Asia - now incorporating Mystic east- Peeking Heights replaced by a new ferris wheel that works and can load fully- Berry Bouncers moved to and re-themed, hidden inside new tall pagoda building near the ferris wheel- Rock work to return to the falls. - See-through wall at the top of falls to be replaced by fake fibreglass wall with fake backdrop behind it- Inside dragon there needs to be a new wall so corrugated metal can't be seen- Silly gold mining thing to go making way for new cascading waterfall down new rock work- Waterfall to flow into existing water feature in the area causing a new cool bridge to be made- New toilet building create near Falls building, heavily themed- New thrill ride amongst the trees where the walk between the two areas currently is, where the railway used to run. (would tree clearing be excepted though)- New heavily themed rollercoaster behind the Lorikeets area - themed to a very wild Asian jungle, think Anubis meets Nemesis, basically Gertslauer launched coaster dug into the ground.- Temple of Madness or whatever it's called to be replaced by new Vekoma Madhouse with several pre-show rooms and a very cool storyForbidden Kingdom - Becomes part of the Africa continent theme which also consists of Wanyama village and reserve- Toilet and first aid buildings to be moved to the side to make way for new grand entrance to Wanyama expansion.- New jeep ride for Wanyama behind new entrance- Tomb Blaster and Ramses Revenge to get a major overhaul in maintenance and theming departmentMexicana- Runaway mine train is given a new lease of life with a complete overhaul of rockwork and theming- Games and photography building along with the Children's zoo removed- A new animal enclosure opens that fits within the theme - buffalo?- A new thrill ride also opens with lots of 'sets' to give the area more of a Spaghetti Western town look- Rodeo site expanded and new big building housing a proper Mexican restaurant opens- Current diner and game stall removed to make way for a family friendly flat rideOther- Safari Skyway needs to be completely re-routed, re-tracked and given new cars which don't feel like they're going to fall apart- New route would go over the bird and monkey garden and towards the Wanyama VillageThat's all I can think of at the moment but I think that should be enough to think about for the time being
