Apple all the way, absolutely loving OSX Lion at the moment. Here's an appropriate one... Bolliger&Mabillard or Intamin?

Some sad news today for the coaster industry today. Ron Toomer, one of the more prominent people in the company Arrow Dynamics, passed away last night after a 4-month battle with cancer, at the age of 81. >Source< Here's a list of some of his more known creations:Vampire-Chessington The Big One-Pleasure Beach Blackpool Desperado at Buffalo Bill's Resort&Casino Corkscrew-Cedar Point The Big Bad Wolf-Busch Gardens Williamsburg The Lochness Monster-Busch Gardens Williamsburg Magnum XL 200-Cedar Point (this is the coaster that broke the 200ft height, a big accolade for Arrow Dynamics) Gemini-Cedar Point Ragin' Cajun-Pontchartrain Beach (relocated to Great Escape&Splashwater Kingdom) Cedar Creek Mine ride-Cedar Point And of course many more⦠A random fact... but Ron rarely tried out any of his coasters, due to him having a motion sickness problem since a young age.R.I.P Ron , the coaster industry wouldn't be the same as it is today without you.

A clearer view of the station track was taken by Theme Park Guide today, as well as some other images of construction, nearly all footers are thought to have been put in as well. Yay for vertical construction pics, it might just be station track, but it's going up!

This is just a rumour/speculation video... But if the iPhone 5 ends up anything like this, then just WOW! Laser Keyboard, oh my god, that would be amazing.

I agree with Mark about the ride appearance at the park, I've visited about 4-soon to be 5 times this season, and Inferno hasn't had all of it's wheel covers on on ANY of those visits, one train was missing about 4 on my last visit, while the other was missing about 2... I think the thing about the audio is that it just needs one big overhaul, get Bose in and tell them to sort out EVERY SINGLE THING that isn't working, yes I know this will probably cost alot, but at the end of the day it's the little things that add up to making your day&the park better. On the other hand, I'm a fan of the new chart music at the entrance&front of the park. It gets you all excited and ready for your day at the park. If I'm honest the old entrance music wasn't the most entertaining thing to be waiting at the entrance too... I much prefer Nicki Minaj, Gaga, David Guetta, Rihanna, Britney, and all the chart music they play now, it works well for the park. But I would Never want to see Chessie or Alton end up like that. Samurai seems to have had a pretty bad season, Slammer has had a pretty good one than usual though to be honest, both running great too!

On Saturday, WWTP was only playing in the bottom half of the Stealth plaza, and not in the bit near Sunken gardens or in the Stealth queue (I presume this is something to do with one "zone" being turned off because of the Swarm's marketing board things being up)? Also, Stealth's launch on EVERY ride didn't do the full countdown, it was more of a *revving noise as train gets ready to launch* then just "3" and it was almost as if the operator had deliberately pressed the mic button to stop it... ;)On a plus note, Canada Creek's new system is good, covers a much wider area, can imagine it will be great at FN&Blow it up.

Warner Bros. Movie World Australia is set to get a new S&S El Loco next year, under the name of 'Green Lantern'... S&S have gone all out on this one though, as it's going to have LAP BARS ONLY! Also it will have 8-person cars, similar to that of the original style Eurofighter cars. Could be pretty good with them lap bars, and surprisingly I actually like the look of that green track, the SFMM Green Lantern colour looks awesome too.

Britcitchris Family Hols - Pt 3. Wicksteed Park.
Luke_A replied to britcitchris's topic in Your Planned Trips and Reports
Ahh, Wicksteed Park, brings back memories from when I was little, probably the first Theme Park I ever visited, used to go there quite a lot as a young child :') Am I correct in saying the Swinging Ship runs on some sort of pneumatics, creating a sound similar to Rush (obviously not as loud) because I can remember the noises it makes scaring me and sometimes making me cry Haha! I suppose it's one of my nearest parks too, being as I live the other side of Northampton to Wicksteed. Glad to hear you had a good day anyway. -

Okay... so I also visited Thorpe today, got to the park about 10 mins before opening (9:30) and headed straight for Inferno then Det first seeing that Stealth wasn't going to open until 10... The swarm has had what looks like it's electricity transformer fitted; to the right of the maintenance shed, that's all I noticed going on today... other than the fact that there are still some footers to go in (some were still left on the pile) and workers were on site all day moving mud and stuff around... Good Points about the day. Stealth 'posh English man' offload station announcement now playing. Stealth smoke back&Inferno smoke VERY thick with all the lights working brilliantly! Ride teams dispatching nice and fast on all rides, not much hanging around by consoles. Most queues ok, only bought fastrack for Colossus&Saw: the ride. Les Coogan was absolutely brilliant today! will get onto that later... Not so goood issues...Inferno only on 1 train until the queue got bigger in the morning. WHY??? (the team were excellent when it was on 2 trains however) Slammer &Samurai down all day, this was stated on the website though so it was kinda expected. Rush went down to one swing at about midday, was going VERY high though and producing some awesome floaty air. Saw had a few moments of downtime, I was lucky enough to *just* be going into the saw plaza when they said it was back in operation at about 12:00, got on about the 4th car, it worked for about 10 mins then was down again, got a fastrack later in the day anyway for it. Queues were just average to be honest, Colossus 60-90mins, Saw 50-80mins, Stealth 60mins, Rush 40-60mins(1 swing), Nemesis Inferno 30-40mins.Pictures!From about 3/4 of the way up Storm Surge's lift hill... zoomed in and not much too see, thought I'd post it anyway. Les Coogan doing his thing, with a pretty flower in his cap and a strand of pampas grass which he was 'tickling' people with to get their attention and also using it to 'dust' the Swarm's rig by the Sunken Gardens. Les doing some dusting, he was actually really funny today, and the 'police' were more free with him which I think was great as he was really interacting with guests well. The Swarm's site from the Stealth offload, you can see to the right of the structure that there is a grey box which looks like it is covered in heat sink type grills, I believe this is an electricity transformer.Site overview (notice footer columns&rebar still left in the right of the image)Zoomed in shot of the footer bases left and the transformer in the background.Les hiding from the 'police' behind a bin, he was knocking on this bin repeatedly as if someone was living in there, then said "oh, I don't think he's in today, must be out" We were eating some chips and he looked over disgustedly and said "oooh you like potatoes then" :/ Haha. He also had some notes with him, some reading "The Cake is a lie"&another saying "I've lost my keys" with a picture of the Stealth truck pulling the caravan pointing to a tyre on it labelled "flat tyre"And I leave you with Me&Les. Thanks for reading, another TR next Saturday, hopefully with track... Les also told me to put my picture with him on the internet too...

Didn't really know where to post this... but here's a recent interview with KMG, definitely one of my favourite ride manufacturers; also one of the leading "easy" flat ride companies for fairs&smaller parks. >KMG interview with Ride Rater.<
-
That's because *most* of it has been removed from the ride, mainly because of a recent petition.
-
Double post eek, but with worthy reason... It's brilliant that GCI keep posting these pictures of the new woodie right to Facebook.

Me and one of my friends on the KMG Speed (Booster) "Oxygen" at Weymouth Carnival a few weeks back. These rides may not be as good as a Capriolo, but I do still love them very much... And I had the surprise today that this exact same ride toured by Edward Danter will be at my town fair, replacing a Jump&Smile YAY! (I'm the one in the green Stealth jumper on the right of course)

I agree with most of the points above... I enjoy Colossus very much and think it is a brilliant ride, even if I have to ride it in the front seats to get a better ride experience. Yes, it does shuffle quite a lot and can be rough through some elements (*second corkscrew*)... If I have to ride a coaster in different seats to get a better ride it doesn't effect what I think of the ride experience overall. You have to remember Colossus was quite a big change for Intamin at the time of design, as the type of trains it has had never been used on an Intamin looping coaster before. Then again, companies learn from their mistakes and in the case of Intamin they have gone and designed the new style trains (Maverick/Cheetah Hunt/iSpeed). I have to say that whenever I hit the brakes on Colossus in the front seats after being flung through that last inline twist my first reaction is "Wow" and it never changes... oh... and THAT hangtime in all those inline twists. At least it didn't have the old design of Intamin trains... eh
-
Great news for the coaster industry and Intamin then! I suppose when Intamin come to constructing the coaster they will change a few things such as the number of supports/the positioning of them, as they have changed quite a bit from say when Colossus was built to the more modern Intimidator305 or Skyrush track/Support design... One thing I do like about the 12Inversion coaster's design is the couple of "Maverick style" airtime hills on it, these coupled along with the newer style of Intamin trains should create an awesome ride, as long as the four corkscrews don't turn out to be like Colossus' second one... And yay for the Norwegian Loop, they're so photogenic and awesome looking!

Nicki Minaj is not impressed...Anyway, I LOVE Nicki Minaj and I think Muny is one of my favourites at the moment.

It looks like it says "blow S * * * up" does it not!? Bit of a risky name if you ask me :DEDIT: On the opening times calendar, it says 4,5 and 6th of November late closing, yet this Blow it up poster only says 5th and 6th, hmm...
