  1. I am going Monday, so what rides shut during high winds Saw Colossus Stealth Swarm Vortex Loggers Lead What else? I mean seriously, its going to be mazes all day long haha
  2. First maze is at 3 and you have from 3-3:30 to get to that maze then the next will be 3:30-4...but they are always lenient towards these times because they understand there are always problems and issues that slow people down even in Fast Track! From what I remember you have to get the Fast Track tickets from the Advanced Sales Box...however if I were you I would go in and enjoy some rides until about 2ish then quickly nip out to the Box and get them then...because we bought fastrack online last year and had to wait 30-45 minuets for those bloody tickets, when later in the day there will be no queue! Hope that helps in some form!
  3. First of all can I say a big thank you to Thorpe Park, I think we need to make this very clear, they didn't have to do this event for Annual Pass Holders and generally they did an excellent job, through the experience and mostly pleasant staff throughout the evening! I will start with some negatives however there are plenty of positives from this event, which is a lot of be said in comparison to some recent Fright Night Years! The Lighting and Lack of smoke could have been improved, it was a shame to have areas such as the Swarm flood lit, and some areas had almost no lighting what so ever so you were in total darkness (I kind of prefer eerie green/red lighting rather than trying to feel your way round sections of queue or park) The smoke just wasn't really apparent anywhere apart from one or two places, and of course in the mazes themselves, but a bit more smoke I feel needs to be pumped into it! Your Next was literally non existent and I feel maybe amending the "roaming" to a dedicated area of the park, somewhere like Neptune's Beach area where everyone walks past! As has already been said about the Mazes generally very very good, perhaps a slight disappointment that My Bloody Valentine was mainly recycled material, and perhaps the tension was lost a little, especially with the lack of good loud audio and smoke...but still this is preview night, its expected. I am concerned over the Queue lengths for Cabin in the Woods, which generally was an...interesting...maze, maybe not scary but a damn improvement on The Passing, I am worried it got to around 60 minuets queue on a quiet night, and I do fear the old 3 hour queues returning for such a maze during Half Term, so Thorpe Park may need to consider restricting Fast Track for especially this maze. Asylum was good as always, still the same complaint...TURN THE VOLUME UP!...besides that great, actors lively and climbing all over the place, smoke a little thin in the Asylum and the end scene is drastically improved, adds much more intensity to it...Just wish they could hide the chainsaw better, but yes, very good! Saw Alive, same as before but still very good. Cabin in the Woods, different and I would like to try it again to see what I missed...but the doors are confusing, and most have no clue what to do when they are inside, you are only told once, "the doors must be fully closed behind you" which should be emphasized, and the only problem with this maze is it is very easy for a mass group to accidentally all move into one small room together! So maybe finding some sort of system to improve efficiency. My Bloody Valentine...probably the weakest maze in my opinion, but at the same time had the best jump scares...all the mazes this year lacked this concept...this year Theme was set before hiding place, therefore MBV was great at the jump scares in a confined space, so as long as the actors learn and maintain their adrenaline it should be very good by next weekend! All in all a very solid Fright Night, it won't compete with Scarefest for sheer excellence of the mazes, but that's not the point, Fright Nights have a good package with just a few tweaks here or there...as for the Blair Witch...well you know what Terror Zones are like...it streteches all the way from CCR to the Nemesis Inferno/Rumba Rapids road...very very very dark, not much in it, lack of smoke, lack of actors, pointless shed at the end...tweak this just a little bit and it should be a good high octance Zone...in many ways I wish they had brought back that old Terror Zone and used that with the Your Next Actors as well as the Blair Witch. Therefore I look forward to others opinions, but once again Thank You Thorpe Park for a lovely evening, the queues were relatively quiet, Saw was walk on, Stealth and Swarm were also, so thank you for limiting numbers. But Thorpe I hope you read this, please please please think about Fast Track carefully with some of the mazes, the throughput is not great enough to do Thorpe Parks usual trick of over selling...In my opinion I felt restricting Fast Track from Cabin in the Woods until after 6-7 would be sensible, at least let general guests have a chance to get on it with OK throughput before these times are butchered by fastrack and disabled, that's not a prejudice view its just true, if CITW last night was 1 hour, imagine what it will be like when you add Disabled and Fast Track every other group! So please think carefully. But thank you, I hope you do another event like this again!
  4. It was just a thought being as everyone is talking about the outside maze, there is somewhere tucked away...but yeah as I said unlikely but you never know what Thorpe Park will do...hay to be fair they are having a Triathlon through the middle of the park!
  5. One more place a maze could go is the Sunken Garden, behind Stealth where the Flying Fish used to be! Its unlikely but possible!
  6. In general as a fan of the mazes I prefer a £5 entry fee and get on them as much as you like, however I don't agree we have to pay extra to get into the theme park during that time. However it is Thorpe Park's rules, and I much prefer feeling like you are getting something extra and can go on the mazes over and over again if you so wished, rather than be restricted to one go on the Alton Mazes and what I would call silly money! The Price of their mazes cover the cost of Fastrack for the Thorpe Park Mazes!
  7. Why didn't they create the "Snoozebox in the woods"! hahaha...It could have worked haahah
  8. I recon the Annual Pass day will be the usual Pre Booking Ticket that is required every year, that's all! I just hope we get a decent amount of time to try the mazes on AP evening and that they don't over book to the point of over capacity!
  9. Now I ask the question, how much will Fastrack be this year for the mazes? Will there be singular Maze Fastracks? Will the Bundle be ALL mazes (including Saw Alive)? And if Thorpe Park do not capitalise on this Cinema/Movie Theme with Halloween paparazzi and a red carpet (with all the Halloween Essentials) for photo opportunities to sell to the General Public, then I think Thorpe need to rethink! LOL For example at the Entrance there can be Saw Props, My Bloody Valentine props, etc, which can be perfect photo opportunities, not forgetting all the free promotion Lionsgate get from all the images that are spread! Also they better sell of the films and merchandise...why not capitalise on it all!? Just a shame some of the main rides can't be themed around them, ie My Bloody Valentine would suit Nemesis Inferno (as a support to the main mazes that is) and of course Cabin/Blair with Loggers Leap...just a few props etc...still this is me getting over myself! haha
  10. Interested to know whether the Mazes will tell a story or will be just a simple run through like most of the Previous Mazes...I would hope for some sort of story (as in being told whilst you go round) but I doubt that will happen because of throughput...looks like I may be buying a few DVD's! haha
  11. Lets Guess where each Maze Will be situated...My Bloody Valentine in the Passing/X No Way Out, Saw Alice in the usual spot, The Blair Witch Project in Neptunes Beach and the other one in the Asylum Building! This looks fantastic, obviously Thorpe Park do have a tendency to fail initially, but with a professional and big budgeted Lionsgate behind them, I can't imagine much could go wrong (touch wood) So I look forward to this, and I thank them for finally stepping over that annoying line and bring in something that the Americans Would do!! Oh yes and I think this answers everyone's questions about Saw's Contract coming to an end...I think not, an extension of a few years seems to be on the cards now! Unless the event goes terribly, which I hope it does not! Just a shame it was no Texas Chainsaw! Oh well, always next year!
  12. It honestly all sounds like the passing...Oh well. I just hope it goes back to the original style of Fright Nights, the big event, rather than just the add on! I wouldn't mind anything along the lines of Texas Chainsaw, etc. That could do it for me. haha
  13. I honestly see this as a trial to see how well Smartphones will work in having the potential to be able to sell Fastrack via a phone, thus reducing staff costs at kiosks and adding convenience to the ever large tech generation of Thorpe Park's Population. It also ensures rides during their opening few months remain steady rather than facing huge queues, etc. This is my opinion anyway, take it as you will, but I really do not see Thorpe Park offering this as part of the service, possibly to Annual Pass Holders, Hotel Guests and VIP Guests but not so sure it can work for the masses. All in all, fair enough Thorpe Park.
  14. I love it that Thorpe did one of my ideas about making the selected seating a different queue to the main one. Hahaha...How long has the queue been for the back seats recently!? Thank God they got rid of the Swarm's Front Seat shambles!
  15. What have the queues been for this recently, I went the other day but it had just broken down as I got to it, and I did not get to ride. Thanks

I felt it was a good improvement to X No Way Out, the idea is great, however the music is simply not loud enough, if you are to base this ride on Music and Light, especially a poor 'thrill' ride as this one, the Music has to emphasis its existence ..Concert volume will do it justice and the rest will be perfect for the ride, on the ride it needs a bit more smoke and louder music besides that...all is great! The ride sections seemed so short going forwards, when going backward each section to the next break run felt a lot longer than forwards, but oh well, much better ride now...Just need it to be louder, much much louder, I don't care if it is uncomfortable to be in the queue/ride for long, that's the idea of the ride...to be a night club!
  17. I would have thought most would have swiped at the opportunity to declare that Thorpe have increased the price of Fastrack yet reduced the amount of attractions you can get on with it!
  18. I see the Freaky Fastrack this year only covers The Curse, Asylum and Experiment 10, and does not include Saw of the Passing! Yet it costs £14 this year!! My word!!

    Slammer

Its not going to close for ages, it may not be a favourite ride and it may have down time, but it is not viable to close a £3-4million ride when it only opened about 5 years ago!!
  20. Wow, who is actually suprised!? Its Thorpe Park! They never seem to keep the effects going, although I would expect them to at least survive one season! Its a shame really, but I am not surprised, its nothing that was not going to happen in 12 months time! I never took any effects for granted or made much of them, because I knew, sods law would indicate the moment you take someone to show off The Swarm, the effects would not be in operation! LOL
  21. You had an alright day then at Port Aventura! I hate Furius Baco, its soooo boring, and there is nothing too it, and the launch is not as good as Stealth in my opinion! Condor, is not as forceful as Detonator because Det pushes you downwards whereas Condor just lets you drop! The fastracks are getting more expensive and more popular, because of what they offer, also the Hotels have stopped offering them free for PA hotel guests!
  22. Wow, its a shame the UK theme parks do not seem to keep the theme going after a few years! It feels like Merlin is similar to my father who states, everything must last a lifetime before he will replace them! LOL
  23. That is a hideous thought!!!! We all know that under that roof is thousands of non-stop zig zags, with the heat of spain aswell as the heat of thousands of people!!! No thank you! I don't care how amazing it is!!! I would rather die!
  24. Wow, that Tutuki Splash incident was certainly cause for concern! It only would have taken one loose leg to fall between the concrete and the boat when the second hit, and that could have been goodbye leg!! Jesus, thats a little worry! I hope those guests at least got complementary fastrack to ride Tutuki Splash later! ...before anyone says anything, yes I know, obviously the ride would have been shut! Although knowing the spanish, they would have just given it a kick and it would have opened again!...I joke! On another note, if you have not heard PA new theme song for this year, its brilliant and its played as there main song for there main show 'Music Generation' which is fantastic, and easily a predicessor to China Town! Here is the song They also play it as one of the main songs at the end of the day parade! Overall its a great song, and really suits! Also the Music Generation show is a complete MUST if you plan to go, I don't care if you wan't to go on another ride, you MUST go and watch the show, it really is fantastic, and its in the Gran Imperial Theatro, so you know its going to be one of the main shows, and obviously good! We saw it 3 times when I went this year! Just enjoy it, and do listen to it, especially if you plan to go!
