Thorpe Park Trip Reports
I don't even think they bother with fastracks anymore, they just don't reply.

That's not how it should be though!

So it's still an issue then. Think I'm going to have to write to the park about this, there is no excuse whatsoever for such lacklustre operations on one of their major coasters.

As soon as my park on RCT3 actually starts to get good it starts crashing all the time because my computer is so crap! RANT!!!

New For 2015?
Ridiculous pricing for the quality you get!

But from what I can see, he only told her the time he thought he would be back if there wasn't traffic. How can you avoid traffic jams?

New For 2015?
Not sure if I'm happy about Thorpe getting an in-house pizza brand or not. Annual Pass discount is good, but the quality at Towers was dire whereas Chessington's was good, so I'm not sure about it.

Fright Nights 2014
Well my friend asked me that today... Storm Surge doesn't need covering up, it needs bulldozing!

They are just vile! In fact I hate any kind of bugs but they are just the worst - basically flying spiders!

Thorpe Park Trip Reports
Oh right - sorry! Is there a reason why dispatches are really slow on Colossus?
-
Vampire
Yes, but she put two of us in the back row and one in row 2 which is not on. I am all for filling empty seats, but not by splitting up groups. (SRQ hint hint Chessie!)

Damn, wish I'd waited for it now! Although they did seem to be dispatching very slowly.

That's not on at all! How the hell can she blame you for traffic? Next time you're in the car with her and there's traffic start blaming her! Ridiculous...

Sunday 21st September 2014 RIDECOUNT: The Swarm x2 Stealth x2 Nemesis Inferno x2 X x2 Saw: The Ride x1 Slammer x1 Rush x1 Vortex x1 Tidal Wave x1 Loggers Leap x1 Rumba Rapids x1 Angry Birds 4D Experience x1 Dodgems x1 TOTAL: 17 Highlights: - Swarm fire going off on every train! - Seeing the Fright Nights mazes being constructed - can't wait now! Lowlights: - Very slow dispatches on Colossus, to the point where I thought it was on one train! It had queues of 100 minutes whilst everything else was at 60/70 at the most. - Lack of urgency from most staff around the park (still...) Overall a good day.

The batcher in the station was awful last week. She actually split my group up to fill an empty seat (as there were 3 of us). How about get a Single Rider Queue!!

Fright Nights 2014
The wood around My Bloody Valentine is now all the way up. Really think they should take the E10 posters off the side as you can see them from Inferno!

Adventure Island - Southend
Out of interest, what is the staff situation? Although there is another way of looking at it - happy guests will spend more money.

Adventure Island - Southend
For that reason, I really want to visit Adventure Island. It's a delight to be in a park that genuinely cares about customer enjoyment, and actually wants to shift queues. Also, they seem to be the only park in the UK with consistently good opening times, as let's face it they are poor at most UK parks. I just wish they had one more thrill coaster, as it does seem a long way to travel for one. (However Time Machine looks amazing!)

The Asylum! Fright Nights or Scarefest?

Rameses Revenge
I'd just be happy if the thing was open when I visited! Haven't been on it for two years now.

Fright Nights 2014
After doing some thinking, I've come up with a list of things I would like to see improved at Fright Nights 2014: Cabin in The Woods Improved ending. The set was good, but nothing happened! They need an actor in there (possibly the most horrible looking actor in the whole maze - what about the guy with all the saws through his head?) to chase people out. Also doors or flaps there so that people queuing can't see people walking running out. Some form of audio in the queueline, even just a quiet ambient soundtrack would do. My Bloody Valentine Consistent lighting, and more of it! Last year the maze was brilliant when all the lighting was working, however sometimes it was completely pitch black in a lot of places as lighting either wasn't working/was switched off. This made it a painful experience, but also ruined it as there was some really good theming in there but you couldn't see it! Consistent audio - sometimes the "chase" soundtrack wasn't playing which removed the atmosphere from the maze. Audio needs to be on all the time! Actors to be more consistent, and use the space well. I saw loads of hiding places for actors, but they weren't being used! Instead, the actors chose to stand in completely visible places for most of the maze. The Prodigal Son soundtrack (which was playing around Stealth) needs to play on the speakers outside the maze! It would create such a good atmosphere, yet last year there was nothing playing out of the speakers! Saw Alive Actors to actually understand the Saw films, rather than just going "Boo!" Rooms that are themed well should be a bit lighter. Again, what's the point of having theming if you can't see it?! Maybe some spotlights that just light up the theming would be a good idea. Blair Witch Project Better actors Ambient soundtrack (which I have heard it will have, which is great!) More theming Better use of the shed at the end General park notes: Park wide theming is a must this year! Queueline audio for the mazes is so important. It creates a build up of tension and atmosphere, whereas last year there was no tension built up beforehand in any of the new mazes as there was no audio playing. I think that with these changes Thorpe could have a world class event. Last year was good, but I think they can build on it a lot and hopefully create an amazing event this year.

Rush
Maybe faster batching and restraint checking and longer cycles would be better...
