I would also have to say that I feel Thorpe Park's themes make the whole place seem more special when you visit. I am a big Thorpe Park fan, but when I have been to the park with chart music playing it just seemed to feel like an over sized fun fair. I would say the chart music is OK for certain special events but it should never replace Thorpe Park's music for good.

That concept art looks really cool. I think this will be a great addition to the Dungeons and should be really good fun.

Hi AstroDan, thank you so much for your in depth tips and advice. We will definitely take this all into consideration when we visit. We have planned a four day round trip with days 2 & 3 in the park, but we have already decided that if at the time we feel like we need a little bit more time to cover everything we could always buy a couple of 1 day tickets on the 4th day and spend an extra half a day there before flying home. We are both really looking forward to it. On another note do you know when the Rollercoaster Restaurant is due to open? Even without any reviews for the food it might be worth a visit just for the experience.Thanks againPhill

Hi everyone, I'm Phill and I am a big Thorpe Park fan, I think I always have been since I first visited when I was a little kid around 1987.I have been hanging around the forum as a guest and then as a member for a while now but I am only just getting around to posting.In the last few years I have visited the following parks:Thorpe Park, Chessington, Alton Towers, Legoland, Drayton Manor, Disneyland Paris, WDW, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. My Wife and I are looking forward to visiting Europa Park in a few months time.

Tragedy strikes as rare anthropomorphic African mammal gets its head stuck during kids show!

We are going to Europa Park for the first time in a few months time. We're really looking forward to it, to trying out the coasters and especially Geisterschloss/Ghost Castle (Thorpe's Phantom Fantasia/ Wicked Witches Haunt used to be my favourite ride when I was growing up). Do you have any tips and suggestions for first time visitors? Also can you recommend any of the restaurants both on park and resort?

With a nice long ride, one drop in the dark and then a great double drop with some nice airtime it has to be Loggers Leap for me. Plus when I was a lot younger the 'clunk-clunk' sound of the anti-rollback devices moving into place behind the boat, on the final hill, used to really scare me. Possibly more than the drop itself.

Phantom Fantasia and Wicked Witches Haunt were my favourite rides when I was little. It is such a shame that these great dark rides are no longer around. I agree with many people on here that it is likely that it would not have made it through the Tussuads era without having lasers added to it. But I still wish it was around as I have yet to ride another dark ride that is quite like it. Obviously it was very much inspired by the Disney Haunted Mansion rides but Phantom Fantasia/Wicked Witches Haunt had its own 'a little rough around the edges' look about it. We have a trip to Europa Park booked for later in the year so I am really looking forward to riding Geisterschloss (Ghost Castle), which is the Mack ride Phantom Fantasia was based on, to see how similar it is besides having the same ride car system and a very similar station area.Has anybody ridden on Geisterschloss before?

It really would be great if this does go ahead. Unfortunately I missed both the previous Thorpe Blast events but have heard so many good things about them. Plus it would be great to see fireworks returning once again to Thorpe Park.

We were at Chessington on Saturday and witnessed the ride break down twice. The first time we were in the ride building overlooking the platform when they had to evacuate all the boats. And the second time was later in the day we were walking over to the ride to use our ride exit passes to go on when we saw the boats stop again. Does anybody know what the problem was on Saturday?
