The lack of mention for Dragon Falls makes me think we might be waiting another year for that facelift? Why would they not include details now? It's clear there are a lot of other things being done around the park, some of which were unexpected, maybe the resource has been put elsewhere for this year. If it was found other things needed doing it would make sense as Falls can open in it's current sorry state, maybe some other things would not have been able to.

Good idea for a chat based ceremony! If it's tonight I'm not around, if it is later in the week I'd be up for that.

A two and a half hour train journey awaits me in either direction, so I might just drive. If not though...

Good thought. Although from the surroundings both currently sit in I hope not, unless they're doing an extraordinary amount of work on whole areas I think it would stand out quite badly.

Just randomly watched that video again. That display really is so well done, the way the firing is reflected in time with the phrasing of the music is spot on, love visualisation of sound like that. The Smiler part especially with the Fake Blood I Think I Like It track, unfortunately it is a bit smoke logged at the time but the way the firing goes across one way with the lyric and back the other way with the beat is great, simple but really effective. The whole thing reminds me a bit of the Star Guitar video, one of my favorites. Also, I didn't notice it before but the inclusion of 'I'm Falling To Pieces' in The Smiler segment is inspired. That can't be a coincidence, so funny!

The S+S brothers? At least one of them worked out well, and I still love the other regardless of its failings. Surely this year will see some investment for the park in previously closed attractions, along with the hotel? The value of the 'hotel' as an investment is misguided at best in my opinion, but I still think the park itself will do well with whatever they do with it if they go at it with the same attitude and sense as they did with last years bits.

Work xmas night, drunk, merry, could have stayed out, had to come home, dancing badly, 90's music great, new music ****, manged not to get in a fight, Chicago's is a dump, gonna feel crap tomorrow, will be worth it.

From the point of view of someone who wants a proper hotel this is just turd polishing though. If they'd got to work on the full hotel when the original plans were first approved I imagine we'd be looking at the first phase opening with the start of next season? What concerns me about this change is the investment it has now required. When they were leasing (or whatever the arrangement was) from snoozebox I imagine the actual outlay from Thorpe was very minimal, now they are doing it themselves it will surely take significant investment. That'll be money that is not being spent on developing the proper hotel and has to be recouped over a number of years before we can move on to bricks. They've shown they could walk away from snoozebox at any time, they can't walk away from they return they now need. The real hotel looks further away than ever.

Does seem strange to open these extras without advertising the, It's almost like they don't really want people to turn up? Food outlet cleaning issues really shouldn't happen, have they already forgotten the press Alton got s few years back when the health inspectors went to town on them? Please share. Pretty please!

Thanks for sharing, I'm sure that will be lots of help to people once the open season comes round again. The 'will I fit?' question seems to be one of the most frequently asked here!
