  1. So... not the same then!
  2. I know, but it's how ToT uses that which sets it apart. They may be the same design, running the same pattern, but no to things are ever truly identical and they certainly don't feel the same. Paris gives a (amazing) sustained feeling of weightlessness which the others don't.
  3. Certainly doesn't feel that way to me. Even if the sequences are the same the speeds must be slightly different? I get loads more weightless times on Paris, it's the way it decelerates from the fast ascent just a touch harder than my body naturally would, flowing into a decent which is a fraction quicker than gravity taking me alone combined that gives a sustained feeling of weightlessness like none of the others have.

There's nothing worse than a damaged lady garden, it's always best not to recklessly plough through a bush.
  5. I prefer the Paris version. They seem to have perfected the drop sequencing there, giving much more weightlessness than either of the American incarnations. But yeah, Spiderman is number for me. At least until WC16 opens...
  6. This doesn't sound right to me. Can find nothing else about it anywhere and it's simply not how coaster design works. I call some fanboy moron stinging people along, happy to be proven wrong though.

Hope things have got better since. The biggest step in fixing mistakes you've made is recognising you've made them, so you're well on the way! I think we've all done something similar to a certain extent at one time or another, the only advice I'd give is now you know something needs doing, do it; the longer you leave it the harder it will be, things won't fix themselves, and you'll regret it down the line if you don't.
  8. This should be the parks new strapline!

Been meaning to post this for a while, it is clearly the best thing released so far this year. Decade maybe. How has it not troubled the charts? The record buying public are weird.
  10. 6 should be pretty standard anyway, not something exceptional to celebrate! For me down in Essex the opening times really are a limiting factor; I'm not going all that way for a 6 and a half hour day. I'd spend the same amount of time travelling as I would at the park! Increasing hours at the last minute is all very well, but a trip like that for most people is something you pan further in advance than a couple of days. Towers have the rides, park and infrastructure to command the truly national draw they consider themselves to have, but the operations of a regional park.
  11. 5 nights does seem quite low, I'm sure there were quite a few more last year. I think they have pretty much all sold out previously too so seems like an odd decision, I guess with island beats there's a of events competing for a limited number of nights across the season. A quick check shows the Shark hotel is fully booked on all MoS dates already!

  13. It's all about the setting... Beautiful beautiful Tilbury.

Just got the result back, I ONLY BLOODY PASSED!! I'm amazed, I thought it had gone so badly. Means I can go for promotion now (well, promotion to do the job I've been doing 'temporarily' for the last 9 months anyway!), which is nice.

No one here seems to be speaking English any more? Random old film mention. I saw 'Ray' the other day, biopic of Ray Charles. As brilliant as it was it turns out the Charles was a bit of an arse and really wish I didn't know that, kind of taints the thought of him overcoming such adversity to achieve what he did. Great film though.
  16. Strange that they haven't drawn the wastelands of Tilbury in the background of any of them!
  17. Have you tried uploading them upside down?
  18. They didn't rip it off, they bought one. More places should!
  19. If even the French think you smell bad you really do have a problem.

I'm sure that'd be a fine location for a major wooden structure, those stations are not in the least bit flammable.

For anyone that never got to see it, magnificent is not an overstatement of the effect the original lighting created. It really was magical having the fountains appear to freeze over your head. If they could reinstate that lighting to the finale it would almost make up for the mess that now precedes it. A relatively cheep and quick win Chessie. Do it!

Much excitement. Much potential for planners to tell them to piss off. Good luck Towers, if this really is what it sounds like it is I have a feeling you'll need it...

    Ooohhhh....
  24. Haha, I can imagine them sitting there spinning like those little shiny beach windmills while people are trying to get on and off!
