I was going to sat exactly the same thing, but I thought that you were his wing man so this has thrown me a little. But it was my first instinct so... ##votetommy

The opening image is a composite so does not reflect real life, I know that, but it should at least be made out of things which do exist. I refer, of course, to Falls and its non-existent drop surrounds surrounds. Chessington - please stop pretending you haven't ruined things. If you are ashamed of what you have become please fix it, rather than pretend it hasn't happened. Thanks! (If it turns out they have fixed up falls this year I take it back. They haven't though, have they?)

That is not correct. They hold many concerts and festivals which are gated and ticketed, access can be restricted. I can't imagine they'd want to go down that route, but with the excessive crowds I could see a time when the council what put a stipulation on their licence to find a way to control the numbers to maintain safety. EDIT: yes Tommy. My phone decided not to show me your poat before I replied.

The only real problem with not expanding is the physical capacity of the place with its ever growing popularity, there have been some crazy long waits to enter as Christmas got near and I'd hate to see it have to go ticketed.

Hollenblitz needs to happen. As insanely popular as it is I think they do need to keep some sort of turnover of rides and attractions to keep people coming back rather than trying something else, this year felt very samey to me. It's a bloody massive park, I'm sure they can expand it if they need to; they are not bound by any physical boundary. At the moment I think it has become too segregated; if the market stalls intermingled with the rides I think it would benefit both groups and the flow of people. It was actually quite hard to even find somewhere to pick up a drink in parts of the ride area this year.

? of course you can. I understand it, but it's just a mess of restrictions and exemptions. The stuff on the 'premium' should be standard, the restrictions on the standard make it and 'off peak' or 'lite' option. The prices don't necessarily need to change, but the marketing does.

No, it was a really bad idea. The actual advertising was spot on, hinting at it and being all creepy and enticing. The problem was the POV on the breakfast TV program, that was a bloody stupid thing to do after all the secrecy, and made it look a lot crapper (same thing as happened with Saw) than it actually was. Along with the build up marketing, that was just daft and through everything in the wrong direction.

I think it is more common at parks that have year round / very long seasons, because there isn't really a start or end to base it in. Seems like a really bad idea for our parks, not only does construction disrupt the park and often make it look a right old mess but if what is to come is a big thing it destroys the first half of the season, with people holding out for the opening day. And then it opens into peak time rather than having a slightly quieter period to iron out the kinks in. Just seems like lose lose to me. Plan things further in advance, use those massssive closed seasons effectively and have things done a couple of weeks before the gates even open. Why ever not?

That's quite enough of that. I am, of course, a good guy. I must confess to not being terribly familiar with myself. I keep staring at my reflection and thinking how much I look like Professor Burp, but alas I am not he. Anyway, be nice and I might just let you stand under my umbrella when you might need it. As properly dodgy as Tommy seems already, my vote is going to go to someone inactive thus far. Just because, screw them!

Best selections* yet. *excluding Macarena, obviously.

It's long been rumored the Enchanted Village is not the only new thing for Towers this year, and that the old beastie is finally to be replaced with a kiddie coaster on the same site as part of Ceebies expansion. Photos taken by TowersStreet during the Christmas event seem to show that work is indeed happening on the site. So what's it to be? I've heard Zamperla custom kidie coaster. No idea on the theme though, what Cebeeies property fits? How about Pingu? Make it all look like ice and the cars styled as a sliding Pingu on his stomach.

Thorpe are recruiting for this season, if anyone is interested.

Amazing news.. Not had one of these bad boys since about 1995. They are damn good!

Thanks, I did! Nursing a hangover now though

Well done for remembering this thing existed! And great choice, loving BBC myself at the moment too.

The fault may have been caused by a power cut, power cuts are never entirely avoidable, but I think the problem is with the inability to get the thing back to the ground again; something that should always be possible with or without power. Until they can demonstrate they can do that reliably it probably shouldn't be open. Agree it's totally non news though.

The same swing ride at Cardiff winter wonderland that made the 'news' for swinging about a bit gets more coverage for breaking down a bit.

Wow, beginning to think this this is actually cursed! Such a shame, hopefully it doesn't have any lasting consequences.

How on earth can a 'premium' annual pass randomly not include Legoland parkin? Mental. These things should be 'as standard' anyway; an annual pass to Merlin attractions should provide just that, not come with a tonne of exclusions and extra charges. Sell an 'off peak' one by all means, but this is marketed all backwards and only serves to frustrate people who end up feeling ripped off whichever option they go for.

There was a brilliant documentary about them on Radio 1 about a week ago that's well worth a listen if it's still on iplayer. Played a fascinating selection of clips of my favourite track of theirs at various stages of development, great to hear how the it progressed and developed into this beauty...
