Sorry, that is just nonsense. That couple of minutes multiplies and multiplies for each person as the ride is going round empty, I think you'll find the amount of rides guests can get on is quite a big factor in their enjoyment of their day (and therefore likelihood to return). This problem does not exist with the hold at the start of the queue. The lengths the parks go to to achieve throughputs, they will not be happy if this has an adverse effect.

That doesn't make sense as a reason to move it. Both points are exactly the same inside the building, but with the added problem that that bag queue directly stops people getting on the ride where as the long queue line after it at the front creates a buffer so the ride can still be filled.

AFAIK the move was purely to stop the bag drop backing up the queue right before the ride so causing empty seats, photos returning was never on the cards. Don't know why they've moved it back, it worked much better at the front even if it looked a bit of a state. If I had to hazard a guess I think it might be because of the total blockage it caused to the exit when the bag people couldn't cope.
  4. TPM facebook says... By 'available' I'm guessing that it's optional and will work alongside the main queue line? If so this could be excellent, looks like they are working towards combining the two systems with the earlier trials so hopefully it'll go smoothly. One main queue, one FT/RAR queue combined, nice and simple. FT becomes a way of waiting less time for an RAR allocation or effectively being in two or more RAR queues at once, so still has its value (and will even more-so when more rides are added). I like what this is turning in to a lot.
  5. Done! You actually from Thurrock too? I grew up in Grays. I'll be policing that event too, so you better be something good to listen to while I'm dealing with the inevitable drunken buffoons!
  6. So it's a weekend of new dark ride pov's then... This looks pleasingly mental, love this spinning powered coaster system too.
  7. http://youtu.be/97rnUqQpRnc Impossible to tell from a pov, I know, but doesn't look great. Big screens in largely empty rooms not blending into the set that there is, very odd. The floor especially, how hard would that have been to match up, either physically or with some lighting/projection? The baskwards chase scene looks good though.

I didn't believe that, but fb confirms. Wow. I'll be amazed if they get anyone on it for that. It's actually cheaper to get on a plane and fly to a nice wavey beach for the day!
  9. As much as linking to tpr makes me feel dirty, some views of a visitor... http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1462754#p1462754 I NEED to know what happens in Gringotts!

    Your not wrong!

It certainly does (even if that is not their primary role) and, as someone who has been on the receiving end of that exciting split second of a ratchet slip (dueling dragons btw), they certainly can.

Popeye is all sorts of amazing. Like comparing Nemesis with Fish.

Not many details, but a girl sustained a head injury from what is thought to be Miami / Music Trip with an apt name... Not sure how hitting your head is possible while riding, I'm thinking she might have been struck from off ride? Seem to be a lot of incidents on this ride type.

(not sure what this was doing in summer nights, so moved it here) Wetsuit? Thought these were used with normal swimwear? You'd need your own swimwear inside anyway. I see a Thorpe Park merchandising opportunity, branded TP towel and swimwear set.

I was thinking a fiver would be about right. I think it's a great idea, but not sure enough adults come with swimwear for it to be very successful.
  17. Shame they have such extremes of value. Earlier this year I went and they wanted £4 a ride, which is stupid, now £10 a band is really quite cheap.
  18. Yes, I went to that! Think it only came the once and had the starflyer in the middle. Last weeks one was £2.50 a ride, only a few things there but a bit of fun none the less!
  19. Sounds like a superbowl? Not much of a fan either. Where was that? I prob went if it was our way. You go to the little one in Pitsea last week? Was small but alright.

they could have at least arranged the toppings in a swirly pattern!
  21. Great to see these have stayed so popular, tonights one has sold out.
  22. http://youtu.be/ZU2v3rhb4_I hmmmmm.
  23. If they didn't allow r&r straight on then it wouldn't be working! Anyone there to see how it's gone today? What queue lines they used? what the standard queue and r&r wait times got up to? wifi not fall over? Hope this 'version' of it was a success!

What an odd thing to change.
  25. This has been the big problem. That's what makes me question their motives with the new system, if it is purely an attempt at improving satisfaction through queue times then there's much much simpler ways to achieve that by tightly controlling fastrack - something that doesn't seem to have concerned them in the slightest before now. So why all of a sudden do something so radical? Very odd. I wonder what the percentage that they allocate to r&r and fastrack combined will be? Hope they start somewhere sensible so the 'standby' queue is given a healthy chance, and then increase it later if it is working out OK. Another potential hurdle could be calculating and displaying an accurate 'standby' queue time, something I think it is fair to say has never been a strength of theirs.
