  1. One thing that did aggravate me about Inferno being down on Monday was that there were 6 members of staff stood outside it all day doing absolutely nothing. They should have been reassigned, even to do some simple cleaning tasks around the ride, where they don't have to stray off in case it came back on. Its pretty pathetic that park management think its acceptable to pay members of staff for a days work when really they're just stood around talking, in my opinion...
  2. There was no end of day theme or sirens yesterday by the way. Not even the noise in the dome.

The door by the Colossus queue line was opened yesterday, and it absolutely stank of wet paint, I don't know if this means anything else is afoot or not.
  4. Well, it spent 2 hours with a full train stuck on the lift hill yesterday, maybe not running so great after all haha....
  5. I would assume this fits in line with their current focus on Rides per guest. As far as I'm told the park management, believe it or not, are currently trying to make a big push for increasing the average number of rides a guest gets on. This seems like a logical investment in that sense to be honest. They look smart, let's hope they aren't using a version of windows that crashes every 20 minutes like the ones at DLRP...
  6. I remember reading a report a while back that stated they would *consider* another 200fter only after Stealth saw through 10 Years of operation or something like that? Note that this only for planning to be considered, that's no guarantee it'd get approved. And theoretically their ceiling limit due to the airport is something like 1000ft. I'll try and dig out the report that I read this from.
  7. It'd be nice to see the Hotel and Coaster together. It'd do wonders for their attendance figures for that year in my opinion.
  8. Am I just making this trap up? haha I could've sworn there was a trap somewhere along the line where a man gets locked in a room with a bunch of syringes attached to crossbows aimed at him. In which case they're probably not loaded with syringes at all. It would be good if we could see a lights on picture of the MCBR in question. There are definitely crossbows attached to the walls though.

If it is I hope the light is still synced up to the different tracks. The best way to sum this ride up now is as an (extremely) poor mans rock 'n' roller coaster. Its everything I expected it to be. Even Merlin weren't proud enough to flaunt it everyone's faces like they usually do with minimal changes. If it were to be anything more, there would've been far more hype around it...
  10. I think they're supposed Crossbows to be full of syringes, depicted in one of the movies, (I think its Saw 3 but I forget). The block break is necessary to segregate the dispatch, personally I'd rather this then a blank stretch of track, but I could see how the effect is pretty much lost on anyone who hasn't seen the films.
  11. From my experience with O2, "Run Out" usually means, "Oh crap, this is way more popular than we expected, axe it before it bankrupts us!"
  12. How is Easter Sunday usually at Thorpe? Is it the same as a bank holiday (I.e quieter as people think it will be busy and don't go) or is it rammed?
  13. I know Saw was forced to be the prominent focus of Thorpe's adverts for 2 years due to their contract but it also probably mentioned something about frequency too. I'd say this is a real move of desperation. It costs and absolute fortune to advertise on that billboard. And they've obviously had to seek help from Coca cola as a sponsor. It makes me wonder, if the park are operating at a continuous loss, will Merlin one day decide to sell the park?

    Logger's Leap

With the recent flooding and snow, I doubt they'll be running any water down the chute until summer hits (if it ever does...)
  15. They were doing this at DLRP when I went last but you had to make a purchase to get one. Its nice to see them copying the right things from the right people for a change!
  16. The best part about Disney is that it runs itself. There's no human there to decide "Oh just one more wont hurt"
  17. They could've at least touched up the picture of Colossus, why would you want to wake up to a picture of a huge rusting metal thing?
  18. I don't understand why it has to park on specific loading bays, just write the numbers of the arms on top, and that will sort out the loading issue. Every other fairground model lands where it lands...
  19. I'm glad they're continuing to invest money in to this. Its one of the few things that actually make the park quite unique in its own way.
  20. Looks like they tried to make it more touch friendly. It would work very well on tablets I would imagine.
  21. I'd say one of the biggest issues is that it seems such a boring ride to operate, half the time the op spend far too long lugging the boats up to the launch section To be honest I can't blame them. Its not often you see a ride that requires as much manual labour as this ride in this day and age...
  22. Sorry if I've missed this already, but can anyone confirm if the ORP is still available for the backward facing rows? Or do the picsolve booths just show the back of the seat...?
  23. If they do add yet another new maze this year I'd be pleasantly surprised. They really do put the Towers to shame with their line up and rotation of offerings... At the same time, I think they've definitely deserved at least one year with no new maze...
  24. Any idea if the speakers at the top have been fixed yet? All I remember from the last few rides was hearing "5....crackle crackle crackle....1...AHHHHH!"
  25. And the people having sex in a bush behind stealth still continue to remain.........
