TPM Thorpe Park Ministry Of Sound Meet - Saturday 22nd July 2017
Han30 replied to Ryan's topic in TPM 2017 Meets
Should be coming to this - can't drink with the tabs I take and never been clubbing before so I'll be leaving around 11ish -
Agree about front row - so much better than looking at the people's feet in front of you. Ive yet to experience Galactica VR this year because on both my visits it wasn't ready however I much prefer Air anyway - would be interested in seeing what's changed with the VR though

I agree - I think 18 is a bit much when you consider during holidays you get groups of friends under this age visiting the park - particularly in summer where water rides are popular. Just because someone is over the age of 18 doesn't make it a certainty that they won't tit about and put their own safety at risk

I've always found the indoor queue section on X to be ridiculously hot even on not particularly hot days - but no idea why they would close it for the rest of the month as the temps are meant to be going down - unless they are doing maintenance?

The only coaster you may have a problem with is Colossus - because it's very pinchy in the seats and if you are tall it can add to it - as in there is naff all leg room - my nieces dad didn't fit in it and he is around 16/17stone (just to add he is very tall - 6ft 4ish which didn't help!) - but they have tester seats outside of all the coasters bar Flying Fish and X which have lap bars so you'll have no problems with those. As for flat rides, Vortex and Samurai have tester seats (when they are working!), quantum has a lap bar, as does Rush. Zodiac has no restraints so again, no problems there. Detonator has over the shoulder restraints but I'm unsure if they have a tester seat as I've not ridden that thing since 2013. Water rides you'll be absolutely fine on and pretty much everything else I'm sure - I've probably missed stuff out but it's late! As Roodie said - don't be afraid to try the tester seats. Have a great time and try not to be nervous about whether you will fit - enjoy the coasters and make sure you ride Derren Browns Ghost Train! Congrats on the weight loss!

I love your Stealth stories! 24? That's no age aha - I'm the opposite - the older I get the MORE I love rollercoasters! Christ some people are a special kind of stupid!

I started collecting pin badges a few months ago - arrrrghhh need these!!!
-
I believe breakfast is between 10-11am which is quite late but I guess if people haven't had time for breakkie and have finished ERT then it could work - there were a few tables full when we went in there. They do need to sort certain issues out - like having eggs would be a good start!
-
Last week they were trialling breakfasts at the RCR - great idea however, myself and @Roodie were waiting 45 mins for breakfast rolls- the service was so slow (and the coffee wasn't exactly hot) - there isn't a great deal of options for breakfast but I think if they expanded on that and had faster service it would work great. Also has anyone noticed that you can buy a rollercoaster restaurant plate for £30 - £30....for a plate?!!!

If there was a maze themed around IT, I would need a few drinks before even attempting it - that film scared the poop out of me as a kid and I've only just got ok(ish) will clowns ? "They all float down here"

TPM Thorpe Park Ministry Of Sound Meet - Saturday 22nd July 2017

Not sure on this meet but would be good to go as I'm not able to make it to the Towers meet - my sister gets married on the Monday so if my finances are alright I'll try and make it - would only be for the day part as booze plus my anti sickness meds don't mix well -
Sat watching the news - just unbelievable what's going on

It was a really good meet and quieter than we expected - Ninjago queue was nowhere near as big as I thought it would be which was good. Pretty good ride count considering how busy Legoland often gets - was fab to see everyone!
-
Finally got up to Blackpool yesterday and I will do a blog thingy when I've recovered from getting my brain rattled around on Infusion but I have to say.....Valhalla - bloody brilliant. Ok I've not been to a massive amount of parks and only one abroad (DLP) so I don't know what other big water rides are like but I was massively impressed - so much so that I went on it 5 times. I'm not a fan of walking around with squishy wet feet but it is so worth it (thankfully it was lovely weather)

Today at Alton Towers a guy points at Rita and says "shall we go on the runaway mine train" also on Th13teen the bloke in front of me, after we dropped and whilst going backwards he screamed "I WASN'T EXPECTING THAAAAAAAAT"
-
From 29th May, they are releasing ghost train pop badges for annual pass holders - limited availability and from ghost train shop

Despite melting in the queue, it's a decent ride and a great addition for the park. I love the uniform the staff who work on it have. Also the ride is a mini workout for the arms so you can eat what you like after

If you're at Thorpe before you go to Towers then try to get on at least Inferno - also if you are planning on riding Smiler then it might be a good idea to try out Saw (trust me I know the thought is scary if you dislike drops and heights but it looks a lot worse than it is) Like @ThemeCrafter264 said, once you have ridden a coaster you will wonder what you were scared of - the thought of Stealth and Saw terrified me at first but I now love them - my first ever ride on oblivion I was in tears going up the lift hill (had done Smiler the same day and was fine) then boom! The ride was over and I loved it - so give the rides a go if you can
-
Yeah I just read about that - that woman has a face I wouldn't tire of hitting....with a brick

Try to get front row if you can - although most seats are the same you get a better view at the front

Been keeping updated with the news all day and it's just horrendous - an 8 year old child is one of the dead - 8 years old. It's just incomprehensible why someone would want to destroy lives - the fact that the majority of people there were kids/teens makes it even sicker. These terrorists are scum - they might proclaim to kill in the name of their God but what religion says it's ok to kill others?! I'm no expert on religions but these monsters are hiding behind it and using it as a pathetic reason to destroy lives. When any attack happens you see the kindness of others and that has been evident in last nights atrocities - people coming together and helping complete strangers. I am no fan of Ariana Grande but I can't imagine how she must feel knowing all those people were there last night to see her sing and some never made it out. It's heart breaking. In times like this you also see just how good our police force, paramedics and NHS are.
