  1. They've been working every time I've been on this season. Had the best and smoothest ride on Saw today that I've had for a long time. No headache for a change!! What a difference it made!
  2. Yes photopasses are £25 for 4 photos at Chessie No Merlin discount available
  3. Generally Runaway only did 2 circuits as well, unless it was particularly quiet with no queue. Or the ride op didn't park it in the right place and had to send it round again, or the ride op just felt like giving an extra circuit! I do agree though that for some reason they wait for the whole train to be out of the station before accelerating now, no idea why - they didn't use to.
  4. That moved at some point last year.

Officially it's a drive tire hill, or generically a lift hill. But yes the effects are very good this year!
  6. Not even 10 years ago. I remember 4 years ago, they'd rush through checks and would even announce that they had 45 seconds to dispatch the train. Not the 3m45s dispatch times I witnessed last week!
  7. Interestingly the Legoland Photopass offer is 4 for £20. Which is the same offer as a few years ago at 5 for £25. Although no AP discount off the photopass anymore.
  8. I think these are perfect adverts. I like the massive thrill rides but my 6 year old daughter can't go on them for obvious reasons. This advert shows there is something for everyone, so perfectly targeted. Even thrillseekers have young kids! We are now more likely to go to TP than CWOA as a family as there is enough to justify a whole day for all of us.
  9. Yeah, the days of 30-45sec dispatch seem long gone. I used to think they took pride in quick dispatch! No more is the case. I sat on the brake run for a good 30 seconds today, got a nice look at train 1 though
  10. Absolutely shocking operations today on the Vampire. Queue reached 75 minutes by 10.30am! I did a throughput calculation and they were averaging a dispatch time of 3min 45secs. That's a throughput of 545pph! Absolutely shocking!! To top it off they had technical issues too, lots of angry people around.
  11. ^ I remember that! I also remember the platformers running around like mad checking restraints. The ride op would announce, "We have 30 seconds to dispatch the next train so please help us by boarding quickly and pulling down your restraint." Then counted down to dispatch. They actually seemed to take pride in a quick dispatch and throughput.
  12. They used to be fine on three trains most of the time, as long as the platformers were efficient! Actually I spent more time on the brake run last year with only 2 trains than I ever did when they had 3 trains!

^ The new bag drop is actually the old bag drop! The original!
  14. ^ No AP discount at any of them. Semi-surprised they've lasted this long tbh. Really wouldn't surprise if the usual generic Merlin brands appeared within a couple of years

^That wouldn't work. The bag drop before the station causes too much of a bottle neck on busy and to be honest even on quiet days!
  16. ^ That's not gonna happen as the third train doesn't even exist anymore! It's all been cannibalised for parts!
  17. Is it just me or is that chainchill so much faster than Colossus? That's because it doesn't use a chain, it has a cable lift hill.
  18. ^Itll be rammed full. The holidays are really bad at Legoland. They regularly reach capacity!
  19. ^ You had to book Chessington last year in the exact same way as Thorpe Park. They just ended up cancelling last years
  20. It's in Northern France not far from Boulogne and Calais. Haven't been for over 20 years when I went on a school trip! Looks like it's changed!!
  21. Its a separately ticketed event that officially starts after the park closes hence the extra fee. Fright Nights is an extension to the day hence no charge for Premium Pass holders
  22. It was £5 with a premium pass for summer nights last year so assume it will be this year.
  23. It's not a new hotel, as mentioned it's a rebranding (and extension) of the existing hotel as the contract to operate as a Holiday Inn has expired or been terminated.
