  1. That is interesting. Why have thorpe decided to use transparent fencing for this somewhat secret project, and the tunnel structure is interesting as well. Though it does indeed seem that this will be a large 4d ride which is very similar to the shrek bus ride in county hall. I hope there is more to this attraction, very much like sub-terra.
  2. Do the plans state how big the workshop is going to be?
  3. I haven't been keeping up with this incredible looking ride, so I don't know much about this coaster. If anyone knows, why have they kept the wrapping over the track if they could just use a tarpaulin to protect it from any liquids and substances? And also what model coaster is this?
  4. My mother suffers from multiple pinched nerves and other things in her back which she has had for many years, and is finally making so progress in recovery. She cannot ride many roller coasters when we go around to parks, however she can do the swarm as due to the seat cushioning and the smoothness of the ride it is fine to her. But as others have said before, if your friend chooses to go on rides it is their choice.
  5. I had my doubts about the music for this ride, as I thought it sounded a bit out of place. That was all from the sample pieces I heard in the making of videos. But after listening to all of the music from the links posted above, it all sounds very cheerful and has suspense which is great for this ride. I quite like the fact they hid a suspenseful feeling in the music until you enter the ride building (I presume), which is a nice touch to the experience.
  6. Apologies if this has been asked before, but do the plans state or are there any rumors that this ride could possibly have 2 levels?
  7. I failed a part of my second year in university a few weeks ago. However, I have been allowed to redo it and the deadline is this coming Monday, which is a relief. I have to rewrite a essay about postmodernism (which has no understandable definition) and its relation to art from dada to li wei and so forth. It was a pain to write about but I have fortunately completed it. Though next year will be interesting to write a 8000 word dissertation.
  8. I can already imagine seeing the british media reporting on this ride (BREAKING NEWS: Ride similar to smiler falls back down lift hill in dangerous malfunction!) Wouldn't surprise me if this would actually happen soon. Anyway, the ride looks great and that freefall backwards looks interesting. It will be nice to see the ride as a whole when it is themed completely.
  9. I decided to have a quick look around the net about this game and found this (https://www.frontierstore.net/). Some of the featured products which you have to pay extra for, are quite high in my opinion especially the VIP staff pass. Though I don't understand the point of it, even after reading the quick overview, though I think it allows you to create peeps. Still, the price is silly for that extra addon.
  10. This made me scratch my head a bit. Yes, the smiler had a accident, but to strip it of its record is a bit much. Though a part of me seems to not believe this story since it's from the mirror. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/alton-towers-accident-smiler-could-5844062
  11. The only way in my opinion for Alton to get rid of this valley issue and risk another accident, is to make Gerstlauer redesign and manufacture a new batwing element. From the start, that has been one big mistake from Gerstlauer's part and they should have been willing to get that inversion rebuilt, whatever the cost. In regards to the malfunction of the car with riders being allowed to continue it's course, I cannot say anything else until the results of the investigation have been published.
  12. Looking at those images, did they not put in any sort of rebar or something similar when they laid the concrete down for the arena floor? I'm surprised if there isn't any, though it is good news as they will be able to lift the arena floor quicker.
  13. Now that this subject is being discussed, here is a poll which has been spreading around social media sites. It shows a interesting result against all that the MSM has been blabbering about (https://gritdigital.co.uk/infographics/uk-general-election/#2015-opinion-poll). In regards to which party I will be voting for, that will have to be UKIP. P.S. I am not a racist and I am from a family who have come from abroad.
  14. I know this may seem far fetched, but I hope this company (http://www.creaturetechnology.com/exhibitions-themeparks/coming-soon/) who make state of the art animatronics, will be providing animatronics for this attraction. Reason behind me saying this is because of the automation thing and how that relates very much to clockwork and living machines, which leads into animatronics. The company, Creature Technology Company, have a page for theme parks and exhibitions, but they are in the process of waiting to announce what they will be making and for whom. Maybe thorpe will be their next point of work.
  15. It may seem like a strange idea, but could this ride possibly be a continuation to the Vengeance story which used to be at the London Dungeons? I looked up WC in regards to the postcode in London, and it is nearby 50 Berkley Street which is where Vengeance took place. With the ghost like glow behind the words and now the Victorian style environment being brought up, maybe it could be related if not the same story line to the London Dungeons attraction.
  16. I was looking around the net as a relief for boredom, and I came across this company (www.simworx.co.uk). They make indoor attractions with motion being a key factor, with Thorpe being one of their customers with the Angry Birds 4D show. There is one product of theirs which interests me, one that is called Viper 360. It doesn't have it listed on their website yet, but it is mentioned in an attractions magazine advertisement. Maybe 2016 will debut this product.
  17. Stair enthusiasts rejoice! Looking at that picture above, it does make me wonder, will the lift hill be attached to the inside of the structure's wall, or will it be placed in the centre? Whatever happens, it will be strange yet interesting to look at.
  18. The document that they made, makes me feel a bit confused. They say they want Paramount London to be the best entertainment destination in Europe, but yet it seems that in a way, they are ignoring their paramount park in spain.
  19. Just by curiosity alone, what is the possibility of Thorpe making this new ride based on a newish film? The film that pops to mind for me, for the family market, is Bananaman which will be released in 2015. Maybe Merlin renewed a license with the Beano lot again.
  20. The Vengeance ride that used to be at the London dungeons, how much space did that use up? I remember that another version of the ride system had animatronics and many other special and interesting effects. It was in Germany I think it was, where that high effect system was. Now talking about animatronics, this company are starting to go into the theme park business but have yet to mention any projects yet. Maybe Thorpe will be their first client, I hope. EDIT: (For some reason I can't put a link to the website, but the name of the company is the Creature Technology Company)
  21. Looking at that warehouse type building, it looks like those Victorian buildings that housed machinery usually used for pumping water for different reasons. It may possibly be for that, but I thought it would be interesting to add that to the discussion.
  22. Isn't it obvious what Thorpe Park are making? It will be a live Five Nights At Freddys experience. Sorry, just me being silly. Anyway, this news is great and I'm looking forward to see what Merlin decide to do with this attraction.
  23. When were the plans for Storm Surge, The Swarm and Angry Birds land released to the public for feedback from residents?
  24. If Thorpe Park want to go all out, will a robo-coaster be a possibility that Thorpe will pick. I have heard people say Universal hold the rights to that ride system, but it appears that any park can have it now, since Paramount has included it in their concept art for their kent park.
  25. Looking at where everything is being cut, in regards to the trees, I see a Intamin mega lite coaster going from the man made island beside swarm, and going to the area where the fungle safari is, then back. Now mentioning that though, is there any documents in regards to how close a attraction can be built to monk's walk? Nemesis Inferno is the closest I think, but that is the station part so no loud machinery.
