  1. Tuesday in half term won't be awful. It's probably the better day in half term to go.
  2. It's not that bad! Especially towards the end of September! They had two trains and Swarm and Inferno yesterday as well as 8 cars on Saw so they will stick the rides on full capacity if needed!
  3. Either something went wrong with the system or they've put more free tickets for Premium holders online but you can get hold of free tickets again for the 11th (first Saturday) so get them quick
  4. If the park is meant to close at 6 or later (minus at FN) the main gates will open at 9:30 with AP holders allowed in around 15 minutes before. 5pm close means actual 10 open so about 9:45 for APs.
  5. Although it doesn't take all the engineers on Park to fix Saw. Not even all the engineers are trained to deal with Saw! So there will still have been plenty engineers to add the second train to Inferno and Swarm. Those trains just obviously had issues that morning. Wouldn't be good to have all your engineers at one ride! Especially as it only takes one or two engineers to look over a train and Green card it.
  6. If it has a long queue then they won't just be waiting for fastrack sales as much as you think they are. No Park is perfect, Rita opened on one train two weeks ago and they had til 10 to get that going (not stabbing it just highlighting the point). No it's not brilliant that it ever opens on one train but it does and they do add the second train when it is safely available! And I've been over 25 times this year CoasterJamie many of those on quieter days where they've still managed to get Swarm open at opening time on 2 trains. Just saying. Not doubting your experiences at all but it's not like that every day.
  7. And speaking myself from many more times on park (probably) it also happens that they're both on 2 trains frequently from the start. Especially as any engineering schedule would ensure Swarm is at full capacity from the word go as that's the go to ride in the morning for guests.
  8. This starting on one train stuff is rubbish! Especially as the engineers have certain rides that they work on and one of them works on Swarm and Nemesis. Therefore at least one of them will be on 2 trains from the start assuming the train is ready to go. Like the other day, Inferno was ready at 9 with two trains. Swarm was also on two trains at 9:15 that same morning. The schedule is only affected if they find problems. Yesterday will have been a problem with one of the trains found in the morning that's why it will have been on one train.
  9. They were all the way on the second section of the grass car park yesterday! Can easily take an hour to get out from there on a busy day. Was the same Saturday evening though at about 7 there was a lovely long queue to get out of the park. Was a busy old weekend.
  10. Doesn't look good for this park hope I haven't cursed it as 2 years after I went to Camelot which at the time of visit was also in trouble it closed. Hope LWV isn't the same. And unlike Knightmare they can't just move the Ultimate to another Park and it'll be a real shame to lose such an amazing ride like that!
  11. Apart from Europa's highly themed areas, attention to detail, excellent looking attractions, shows and restaurants. It's crazy that an oversized typical American park didn't win... and I haven't been too either but Europa looks a complete experience! Not just full of large coasters many of which are apparently over rated anyway. It's okay though, Cedar Point fanboys can take a sigh of relief as Millennium Force is still the best steel coaster.
  12. Me and Toofpikk thought we'd head down to Paramount Park last Friday. It STILL isn't ready, clearly didn't get ultimate planning fastrack, only standard. So we went on a random adventure through a £2 tunnel to some place. We had no idea where though. They had delicious milkshakes but that didn't help. This place was obsessed with pink and yellow. Like this Fireball thing. Look at the pink and yellow! We just couldn't think what theme park was obsessed with pink and yellow. They had an Elvis. Must be America And a BIG wheel. But that doesn't mean anything, loads of places have these. See. Pink and yellow. Back here again. Not sure where this was but we found it 9 times. Ohhhh. We were at Rage Southend On Sea. No that's not right. WHY IS THIS PLACE SO BADLY ADVERTISED All day we were confused. No idea where we were. Thorpe Park have dodgems. Maybe I was at Thorpe Park. No Thorpe Park doesn't have the only Archelon in the UK! But I don''t know which park does Railway. Useful that. Vortex. It would be so easy to brand this ride with the park it's at! This is a Gerstlauer. It says so on the seats. Why would I take a selfie with a bunny when I can't even check in on Facebook as I've no idea where I am! It's okay though, we found our answer. We were at a 5 star loo all day I feel so privileged! Bye bye 5 star loo! Was a great day out.
  13. Said photo. Nice to see that whatever it is it will be something unique again and not further expanding on the hugely popular Peppa Pig. Paultons have got it right in my eyes with their IP, get the IP, make money from it and then expand the park in other ways as well! Look forward to seeing what this turns out as because Paultons is brilliant!
  14. Well clearly Intamin Zac Spin isn't going to happen but... Thorpe have a great relationship with S&S so S&S Free Spin anyone? It's like a Zac Spin but made by S&S!
  15. Loggers is getting old, it just needs some serious work done to it over the closed season to renew its life. It now has 3 modified boats and the drenching thing was happening last year too. Wave coming in over the front of the boat and so on. It's still primarily how you position yourselves.
  16. Last year was on a Friday. Same process, 6000 people and I think they all attended near enough as the weather was fine. Coasters on one train had 15 minutes, mazes about 45/60 but most of them were new so not used to working at any throughput levels. They'll operate it just as a FN day, close some of the smaller stuff like Carousel and Rocky with everything else being open. Thursday night ones are dead though, and surprisingly the Fridays get around 6000 as well they're just on two trains and stuff so feel quieter.
  17. Just before the launch sequence of rocking back and forth starts so when the staff gates close it says "hold on tight and brave yourselves" and then the launch sequence of "place your head back, face forwards... 3, 2, 1, go go go!"
  18. Just got back from a brilliant day! Park closed at 5, Rage on one train, had most of the rides to ourselves all day! Longest queue was a shocking less than 5 minutes. They refused to sell me Fastrack Time Machine, I raved about this last year and will do the same again. IT'S INSANE!!!! Both me and Toofpikk greyed out and could feel the force pulling on our faces, it's bonkers yet so good! And I can't stand spinning yet I love this ride! To think it was made in house, the same engineering team that made Fireball and Drop'n'Smile can make something that crazy that is reliable and doesn't tear itself apart! I want one near me!
  19. There are 6000 tickets available (well were when they were first released).
  20. You actually have to go in and go through the booking process for Fright Nights
  21. So a few things then about FN. The Horror Pass: Simple as that. Face it alone tickets are also now on sale for the 4 mazes, Studio 13 seems to be referred to everywhere as Studio 13: The Motel. You can also do a tour this year of the mazes for £20. The experience starts at 1pm and you get a look at all 4 of the mazes before they open to the public.
  22. Urgh that first corridor in Asylum. Such a wasted opportunity! I think it's going to be completely different to Asylum! They've got an empty building to work with! If it uses the same layout and stuff people are just going to always relate it to Asylum. It needs to be entirely new, only same thing being the way in and out and the building itself. Layout once your in to change, lighting to be different in the different sets (not just a constant strobe and stupid siren). If it stays true to being a film studio it will have different rooms of the different sets. The possibilities are endless and it's not difficult to beat a maze that repeats itself for the bulk of it (actors timing their attacks with the strobe flashes is good for a bit but gets very repetitive after q couple of minutes). Asylum was good but I really don't get why it was soooo loved. The ending to the Vampire maze (whatever it is called these days) is just a much shorter version of Asylum and works just as well because it's not overdone. Bring on Studio 13!
  23. The older ones are ridiculously wide compared to nowadays where they're thinner but longer. The old ones are crazy as in how the drivers legs were basically part of the front wing where as now it's all a lot safer. The thing that amazed me most is how low down they actually are, they're amazing to stare at in real life (security didn't let me drool over them )
  24. Wasn't referring to you Jack know you probably don't care what time we get back
  25. It may not be a theme park, it may only open its doors once a year to friends and family of staff. It is one of the elusive companies within England that few people get to witness. Hidden away in Woking just around the back of Horsell Common it lies, McLaren. (If you're not a fan of rides skip the majority of this report for something at the bottom). Welcome to McLaren's Motor Show 2014 (although I prefer that name!) The general gist of the day is for staff to bring in their vehicles and show them off as well as other companies and groups coming down. They use the staff car park to display all of these vehicles like these adorable classic 500s! Blue bug Or this stunning looking matte black bug? Whistling Billy was in town. He didn't really whistle, just smoked a lot and coughed. Nerd shot. Yeah they had one. BUBBA GUMPS Some of the things that get pimped up are ridiculously awesome! So simple. It's not all classic stuff though. They had this awesome Mustang! Loved it! And this <3 GIMME! And proper tough stuff This was bizarrely amazing! A guy made this moving robot thing (like a transformer). It was just very slow. Few more old things. Some stupid BMXers. Thought they were going to hit the precious McLaren! And off towards the MTC. It's a beautiful site Absolutely stunning! And we'll start with the most important car to McLaren's history. Little Bruce's racing debut car! From that to this. Such a shame McLaren haven't been doing so well lately. But back in the day... You had Lauda Senna. Prost. Winning their first ever Le Mans Raikkonen Hamilton's championship winning car after they were demoted of all their points the previous season. All those added features for down force had to be removed due to new regulations. So now we get the much sleeker looking cars (although slower) Button's first car at McLaren after winning the championship with Brawn in 2009. Some awesome trophies! And Hamilton's first F1 car In which he won his first race and almost won the championship. Sign doesn't lie! These don't look as confusing as made out. McLaren F1 GTR Rear wing Tooned thing McLaren Applied Technologies bikes that did really well at the Olympics and Tour De France for Wiggins and Cavendish. Some more Special Operations. 650S The stunning new P1 It's jaw dropping. McLaren's are definitely suited to orange. McLaren Mercedes SLS It's pretty long. MP4-12C And that's it from the cars. Now to head over to the field where they had a few more activities. Like a Helter Skelter! Which was free. And some bouncy castles! And the one thing everyone raves about at this event, DEMON DROME! Good pun here if anyone can spot it Vehicles at the ready... And we're off! These guys are insane! They come as close to you as possible. And you feel the whole structure wobble too. Wouldn't be a fun fair show without a lady doing something showy off. And then two of them went racing! Quick take him on the inside! Go on!!!! It ended as a draw! And then it was time for the car! That wire is a life saver! So there we are, Special Operation over. If you're a fan of cars and anyone offers you a ticket to this event it's a must! Bar food and drink all the added features like Pit Stop challenge, Demon Drome, racing simulators and so on are free. Even the tickets are free if you know people in the business. It's an excellent day out which only 4000 people a year get to experience. (Don't worry, theme park TR's will resume next week with Adventure Island and then Blackpool soon after).
