  1. That ride is running smoother than Dairy Milk. Actually looks a decent hyper for the park. Not the biggest, but still decent.
  2. 2020 literally feels like an episode of Black Mirror with everything going on. The high likelihood of a Black Mirror attraction being delayed until next year is completely ironic.
  3. I like what they did with X in 2013. Was a forward move for the park.
  4. Blimey, this thread is becoming more corrupted than FIFA. Happy quarantine season everyone!
  5. Might as well start another bandwagon. Best Theme Park Restaurants 5/ Rollercoaster Restaurant- Alton Towers. Probably my favourite UK park restaurant, I love how they’ve used the ‘food loop’ Concept and that the place is also dedicated to past and present coasters. I personally enjoy the food here too. 4/ Tivoli Foodhall-Tivoli Gardens. Great variety here, plus the Smorrebrod (cultural delight) were absolutely delicious. 3/ Silver Lake Saloon- Europa Park. I love the food and I love the atmosphere and think I’m a sucker for most Wild West style places. Reminds me of Smith and Western a little. 2/ Polle’s Keuchen- Efteling. This place is something of a masterpiece to the point where the food is almost secondary. Charming surroundings, meet and greets and amazing thematic set-pieces Which perform often. The pancakes are great too. 1/ Rutmoore’s Tavern- Phantasialand. I adore the cosy setting and theming plus the food is divine. It’s like stepping in time to another world or something! The Worst Theme Park Restaurants 5/ Woodys Burger Bar-Oakwood Theme Park. Bland quick service food, the burger was tasteless and inedible to the point it makes Burger Kitchen look like Five Guys. 4/ Aus Fastes Des Rome- Parc Asterix. Barely food and more processed than Jedward’s auto tune. Cold, tasteless, bland and did I say processed? I didn’t favour to much of Astérix’s food but this was something else! 3/ El Paso Dinner Buffet- Port Aventura. P.A has become infamous for it’s terrible food quality and that is true. Expensive, inedible food that makes eating a chore as, opposed to enjoyable. I ate something so bad here I thought I was going to vomit! 2/ Jerome’s Grill- Port Aventura. I’ve had some lovely Pizzas in my time dining, the one I ate here wasn’t one of them! Disgusting, plastic, oily and more tasteless than a series of love island. Probably the worst pizza I’ve eaten, those cheap supermarket pizzas are gourmet compared to this travesty. 1/ Piratengrill- Plopsaland De Panne. I never thought Port A.V. could be topped for disgusting food. Apparently not. The burger here tasted terrible to the point I struggled eating. To make matters worse, it was horribly expensive and they took so long serving I thought I’d be seeing CHRISTMAS there. I miss going places.
  6. @JoshC., your order has arrived. Decided to create a piano cover of Duel’s original theme. Created through listening and without sheet music. Requests welcome.
  7. For Third Place The Big Top (2016-2017) The Asylum To Win!
  8. Great improvement already from the above image. The old ride essentially looked like going through an abandoned Toys R Us with blasters on ride vehicles!

  10. In the early years, we could definitely class Thorpe as a theme. They had different areas set out with attractions themed among those. However as the park has changed in the last 20 years, we have seen larger/taller rides built up. Given Thorpe isn’t massive and with this in mind, themed areas aren’t really necessary for the park anymore, but that’s not to say the park can’t theme attractions or places. Personally I would like to see them go down a route similar to Cedar Point. You have styled areas, but not necessarily ones that are themed! Back to the ghost train. I think the logical thing would be to close the attraction until the park know what they are doing. Sure it’s cost them lots of money and means another closed attraction. However it’s caused more problems then it has solved for the park and the whole Covid19 pandemic overall, it would be pointless to open a now controversial attraction that is expensive and unreliable to operate, let alone the money lost since the pandemic.

  12. I think if/when the parks reopen this year we will see similar measures to these, like the ones Legoland implemented by keeping those gaps or filling every other row on ride vehicles.
  13. Studio 13 8. Blair Witch (2018-present) The Curse Cabin in the Woods
  14. Disappointing but not surprising either. This project is a massive investment for the park and to delay it (as difficult it would seem) was likely the best thing the park could do. Even if/when the parks begin to reopen, it is unlikely visitor numbers would settle at expected levels due to previous things going on. Will definitely a spring a visit for them for the future.
  15. Interesting discussion point. A Tier- sorry don’t have anything here currently. B Tier- Chessington, I’ve always loved Chessington and I think it captures a great selection of attractions for people to enjoy. I would’ve once put this in the F tier, but I am quite happy with a lot of the things they have been doing the last few years. Re-theming an ageing dark ride, giving their flume an update and also putting in some family rides amongst (hopefully) a new pirate ride. The place has been getting some new life recently. C Tier- Alton Towers. They have an impressive coaster line up (bar Rita) which is amongst one of the best in Europe IMO. They also have some beautiful grounds/landscaping and two decent dark rides. Unfortunately they seriously lack shows and support attractions, which is greatly noticeable when several major breakdowns occur. The removal of flat rides over the years has taken it’s toll. D Tier- Legoland Windsor- Currently Merlin’s gem and flagship asset (mentioning all Lego parks here). Most people on here aren’t the target audience, but they seemto be doing well for what they are offering. The park have definitely been receiving hefty investments with their Monster Party ride, a tiny coaster and a new area next year (supposedly). The only things that drag the park are it’s hefty queues and the landscaping isn’t as good as it used to be. However the TLC the park has received recently is refreshing to say the least. F Tier- Thorpe Park- Surprise Surprise? No one is really surprised. This was the place to be in the noughties with it’s great choice in investment. Skip ahead ahead a decade and I can’t say the same. Poor choice of additions, consistency, TLC and direction have put the park in a stagnant position. Half the place is themed to horror and one of the best former family attractions Is little more than a statue behind a fence. It says a lot that the best attraction the park have added since Swarm is a set of bumper cars and that they now receive the mouse’s share of investment. I haven’t been to Garda or Heide yet, but might well do one day.

  17. I think the ride during it’s second season (and first full year operating) was definitely at it’s best. The second VR was an Improvement, the new finale added that extra element (and was my favourite part of the ride), plus we still had that “live action” element between the two sections. I’m not saying it was perfect then (still a way off) but it was something. Whatever happens to DBGT if/when the Park reopens is anyone’s guess, however with hygiene measures and the nature of the attraction, we could potentially see the attraction opened with “toned down” affects I.e no VR or the attraction temporarily/permanently closed. If the later happens, only time will tell if it reopens with an amended setup, receives a re-theme or is mothballed until eventual redevelopment. It is no secret that DBGT has been a white elephant to the park. They spent a lot of money and resources on it, however it never truly paid off and has had little to no impact on gate figures as a result. It’s absence from the anniversary hoodie says it all.
  18. Beautiful. I can definitely see remnants from the sketches that went into the finished design such as the twisted tower in the final picture. Tover Land is definitely an up and coming park and let’s hope they continue to develop. Was pleasantly surprised by the place when I visited last year.

  22. The above video has somewhat managed to give me a screenshot of what the ride was like then and how it worked. The wording was an error on my part. from what I have seen from the ‘original’ Vampire, it definitely appeared fo have a greater atmosphere amongst being more theatrical. I have done two suspended swingers with their original cars and whilst the swinging doesn’t seem significant it definitely has a more prominent appearance.
