  1. Double Post but its been at least a week.

In terms of the most missed rides at Thorpe, here's the final results.

The winner of the poll was Wicked Witches Haunt with 11 votes is officially the greatest missed Thorpe ride. The ride held great nostalgic memories to many people including myself in which the ride was greatly themed. It's a great pity the fire destroyed this ride because if it aren't, there would be an extremely high chance the ride would still exist however it would most like like tomb blaster but with ghosts and the like.

The Flying Fish (original) was voted second and though shrubbery is now noticeably better on the new one it is still not near as amazing as it was on the old with its head choppers, fountain and arguably better looking train also.

Other is the third popular answer with variants including Space Station zero and a various mixture.

Fungle Safari, Tropical travels, Calgary Stampede,Octopus Gardens and Bumperboats received no voters but that doesn't mean they're not missed as at least two of those are believed to be missed by many and without these removals we would have Inferno, Samurai or StormSurge ( :/) at the park.

  2. I think Thorpe should still focus on thrill rides but open up their target audience to families.

Next year I would like to see CCR return (who knows) with an enhanced experience, loggers polished up and a new map design as the current one is horrible.

I think Thorpe and Chessie should get a bit more of an even mix thrill and family rides.

  3. Cant wait for Fright Nights 2013.

In terms of what appends it would be nice if they could push closings to 10:30 as it would not just give more ride time but also benefit Crash Pad Users where they could even link in some horror rooms or something there.

On another factor, it would be nice if they lifted the charge from the passing.

  4. If there's any park that's absolutely ruining they're rides right now it's definately Chessington. It's amazing how two of their best themed rides have been transformed in to their worst for 2013. Seriously the ride now looks like it belongs somewhere like Fantasy Island or Pleasure Land now.

  5. Chessington badly need a roller coaster or two that exceed a 1000 throughput but with apparent lack of room and planning issues, this sadly won't happen for a while or ever. They should at the least bring back train 3 on Vampire as then the ride would often eat queues at a quite fast pace.

  6. I was wondering what had happened to the ride recently I. Terms of its theming deconstruction. Must admit it surely can't look great at the moment and hopefully the mountain structure will return soon. On the slightly off topic of the fish, the ride is currently looking rather nice now as some shrubbery has now stared growing around the ride.

  7. Would the Original X be one for this poll?

The main reason I didn't put X in the poll is because though the ride has received quite a lot of changes (trains, forwards, theme (to a degree) and lighting) is mainly because the ride still exists. Feel free to vote other though if there are any attractions missing in the poll with the stating of the attraction below.

  8. Having ridden the Swarm backwards recently, I have to admit its a strange and odd experience. The lift and the inversion drop are quite impressive whilst the rest is quite disorienting experience. It's quite enjoyable and thrilling, but I prefer forwards on the ride tbh.

  9. Oh dear, The Smiler's construction and opening is a complete disaster. Sure rly Merlin must have a real headache with all the problems and delays that have suddenly cropped up since the project began.

  10. Just come back from my trip. Another great day at the park, really enjoyed myself on all the rides ( except when I was almost sick on Samurai after eating too much chocolate). The park for a bank holiday weekend wasn't too busy and the longest queue being backwards on the Swarm 30 mins.

It was great meeting new members such as Styles who was very friendly and helpful on the visit as well as meeting with the many other wonderful members who I met at the Chessington trip.

Overall another fantastic trip and thoroughly enjoyed it, a trip report will follow soon highlighting the adventures of this TPM mini meet. I can't wait to meet everyone again in the June meet.

  11. Went on X today for the first time, its an enjoyable ride which the light effects also help the experience too. The loading is also pretty fast too as when a train arrives, they load everyone quick and then it leaves 20 seconds later before another train arrives shortly afterwards.

  12. Just been on Slammer for the first time and despite being unsure of it I loved it and enjoyed the ride thoroughly. I hope the ride will remain at Thorpe for at least a few years as its quite a unique experience. I can now happily say I've been on the worlds only sky swat.

  13. Visited the park today and am disappointed to report apart from Inferno and Swarm, every area of the park was playing cart music, AKA The Noise. This even included the Colossus, Stealth and Canada Creek areas which gave the park a different vibe.

Although the way they've done it with the noise etc. I'm hoping this will only be a tempory thing as the noise should only be restricted to the entrance, dome and beach areas except when an event is on.

  14. Went on Saw today. As far asim aware, some of the effects appeared missing which I believe we're the blades as it just seemed dark instead of those objects being included which was quite disappointing.

On another note, the ride seemed reasonably smooth (when I rode it at least).

  15. That's very generous of a park like Oakwood doing this and shows they don't just want profit. I've heard the gate price hasn't gone up too unlike certain other places who may open much smaller scale cough 'merlin' cough.
