    Wicker Man

Arguiung in comments with other people because it's a waste of time. DONT DO IT! I think we all know SW8 by now is going to be an Aquatrax.
  2. Great! I dread the day log Flumes need a mandatory lap bar restraint because of things like this
  3. Can't Wait to ride this one day, it doesn't seem to that slow. Phabtastic this coaster looks.
  4. I'm waiting for now in case tickets get cheaper (since I payed more than most last time). Failing that I'll wait until they announce the 'we've almost sold out' status if this doesn't happen.
  5. Well that's not good. Making a blanket rule where VR is compulsory otherwise you can't ride. What about people who suffer from motion sickness or epilepsy or anyone who struggles seeing video? I'm all for the VR option, but I can't see why not using it is a problem as it's not like it's going to falloff.
  6. 9 days later and the official unofficial meet vlog is now live. Safe to say this is not my best vlog work and is probably the weakest I've done for a good year (poor angles, shots, coherence etc.) not to mention it's fair to say I'm pretty grumpy through some of it too. Think my style is probably due a facelift at somepoint. Who is Matt Creek?
  7. So recently the Ninjago area of Billund opened, showing us for the first time what the ride looks like. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MqEsFYfirU0&feature=youtu.be Certainly looks an interesting ride, somewhat a cross between Midway Mania & Ratatouille in a way though it's difficult to judge how good the ride is in person from the video. Identical versions are also opening in Germany & California this year and Windsor next year (if planning goes well). Hopefully the throughput won't be too bad as that's one of my concerns here, especially since Lasers gets around 500 pph.
  8. The garish fences also disappointment me as it's another thing not in keeping with the original ride. They need to dim down the lighting as it's just too bright there, even for an up,offing dark ride. One step forwards, two back.
  9. I definitely prefer the old lighting on Bubbleworks as it gave the ride a little more atmosphere. Am I the only one to like the new huts though as they look OK from the photos. Least Bubblew isn't in Tomb Blaster's shoes though.
  10. That's not the first story I've heard of someone touching rides in ways they should never be touched
  11. Considering I'm yet to experience VR in person, my contribution here may be obsolete. VR sounds an interesting element, in how it's a more modern and sleek simulator device, where you can get transported to other worlds and beyond. However it comes across as a cheap alternative to themed experience (less expense), comes across as gimmicky and has dropped throughputs too. Air/Galactica as a result now takes twice as long as it did. Whilst Galactica I've heard is an improvement from Air, most seems to refer more to the increased thematic elements and ride indenting than the VR itself. In a few years alone, this concept could well be dated and even obsolete again, especially with the up keep needed.
  12. I'm doing Europa in May with this amazing lot! Then Liseberg two weeks later for some Helix love (hopefully) Followed by my first trip to Towers in two years to ride Galactica & possibly first trip to the water park. This is because I chose the worst weekend to go in 2015 due to the crash. Should hopefully finally be doing Paultons in August too followed by Blavkpool in September. I intend to visit Phantasia at some point too to ride Taron. Tayto park & Fabtasy Island may also be on the cards too.
  13. Unfortunately 2016 isn't really the best year to do DLRP due to the closures and refurbishments. This also includes shops. Restaurants and themed areas too. If you're looking to go when it's less busy, I would go for either mid/late April- late May or Mid September until Mid October. Avoid public holidays as the park will probably be busy (as a good chunk of guests are from the UK). Ride availability wise either Junly or December. Park will probably be busy at these times but Rock N Roller & Peter Pan reopen for summer and Thunder Mountain reopens December along with Molly Brown.
  14. Can now definitely make this meet. So excited for this now having not done Towers for 2 years. Hopefully this will be just as fun as the previous one with upside down awesomeness! If anyone is offering lifts in the area, would be much appreciated (and no I'm not bussing it).
  15. This is all correct. As the park was getting in to a worn state (for Disney standards), management realised how bad it had become and have decided to do an extensive resort refurbishment to bring the standard back up to how the park was in its early years (once described as the most picturesque Disney resort). In brief: Big Thunder Mountain is closed until December 2016 Rock N Roller Coaster is closed until June 2016 Peter Pan's Flight is closed until July 2016 Adventure Isle & Cabane De Robinson are closed until around August 2016 Star Tours is closed until March 2017 (where it'll become the Adventure Continues mk2) POTC is expected to close around February for a six month refurb plus Space Mountain is expected to close again and gain new trains as well. More information is availible here for the closures http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/calendars/park-hours/
  16. Yeah and they may just be repainted at the front only, but it's still a nice addition to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the UK's newest and best woodie.
  17. Surely multiple parties can apply for the IP licence as it's not solely exclusive to one party. Look at things like Angry Birds Land (Thorpe & Lightwater) and Nicklodeon, they're licensed by multiple parks.

    Legoland

As far as I'm aware it might not be be as the main site doesn't mention anything and I can't find any images of it open through Google. Wonder if it'll get the other random attractions with it too which seem strange. I know the Spider & Longboat rides are getting re-themes apparently. Hopefully it'll be nicely landscaped and the ride building will be concealed well enough. I'm getting a feeling this will be like a Legoland equivalent of the Midway Mania rides & Maus Chocolate in a way.

    Legoland

That's if gets approved though.Heard good things about the Denmark one, but still a shame the park won't have many quiet areas left in he near future.

    Legoland

Legoland have submitted planning for a new Ninjago dark ride at the park. Source http://www.southparks.co.uk/2016/03/25/plans-submitted-for-ninjago-masterclass-at-legoland-windsor-resort/ The ride will replace Loki's Labarynth marking the end of the end of the Amazing Mazes with the other attractions (minus Viking River Splash) to be rethemed. Surprisingly, the attraction is earmarked for a 2017 opening (when Ghost is expected) but this may be a fail safe. Let's hope it goes ahead and doesn't face years of appeals like the yet to be Ghost did.
  21. Pictures via Theme Park Guide.
  22. Some images via Theme Park Guide Safe to say this could be my favourite Merlin themed shop [though I'm yet to see it in person]. That's at least three things so far that have been great on the attraction so far. The music, the facade [excluding that brown shed] and the ride shop.
  23. As far as I'm aware most ride shops only have one entrance Colossus's one does, Saw's does, Swarm's does too I think. Atlantis, Fury & Vampires are also one entrance only too. As far as I'm aware most of Tower's shops have closed/been replaced by vending this year due to cuts. In addition, Rita's shop has closed, Oblivion's appears to have closed & not yo mention Galactica's is now considerably smaller (but that was expected).
  24. Sounds like a typical day at certain halls at my university.Still ironic though as there seems to a fire curse/problem there. Hopefully it hasn't gone up in smoke though.
