lmao this is getting off topic, but ive never been on AE. dinosaur wasn't that scary in my opinion, more just loud, disorientating and intense. it was a cool ride
-
last year my 13 year old brother (who if completely fine in scare mazes) went on dinosaur and cried. I wasn't expecting that from disney
-
agreed. hopefully the either focus on making it scarier (as it was advertised at fright nights), or don't advertise it as being scary as hell and make the attraction focus more on the fun of escaping the rooms (ie: more better explained puzzles and more interaction). at FN it was advertised as one of the scariest attractions, yet it was probably the least scariest. the actual finding of clues and stuff was good but not fun/interactive enough in my opinion, and the scares were way too lackluster/nonexistent for me to consider it a scare attraction. I feel like they need to make their mind up of what it is and focus solely on one aspect, either making it a really good and fun escape room attraction or making it a really dark and scary attraction mixed with escape room elements. I felt last year they tried to ride a fine line between the two and failed. I still had fun though, just probably wouldn't pay for it again if nothing has changed

this is terrible news. this isn't a horror attraction imo and it shouldn't even be running...its fairly obvious the dude who runs it uses the front of a horror attraction to legally torture people, and isn't actually interested in creating a "horror attraction" at all. sigh
-
the only other ride I can think of with a scare maze ending is sub-terra? hardly 'typical'
-
really weird, I was expecting lots of walking throughout it. this leads me to believe that possibly most of it takes place in a ride carriage, shame
-
it means steps as in....the steps you walk up and down I think EDIT: reading back on it now, it doesn't mean it like that at all. it literally means taking 50 steps. weird...maybe there isn't a scare maze section then
-
actors may touch you.... so that pretty much confirms a scare maze like section. interesting
-
awh man, I was really hoping there'd be scare actors. that would be so cool
-
that Blair witch shed looks way bigger than it usually is...
-
this ain't the britain first forums..
-
ah nice, hoping for a mix of actors and AR to be used on this :-)

I have a feeling we're gonna be sitting on a train wearing them, and there'll be effects hidden in the seats and stuff happening around us in real life for added effect.. also, does anyone know if the vive headsets allow for augumented reality or will it just be virtual reality where we can only see what's going on in the headset?

I never did it. what was it like?
-
yeah, before doing studio 13 a couple years back I hadn't done any scare mazes and I was absolutely terrified in the queue. I came out laughing my head off. they're all there mainly for a laugh and the actors know it, I don't think I've gone through a thorpe maze without an actor saying or doing something stupid. it's all good fun really, sure you jump - but I've never been truly scared inside a maze (even the ones at Towers). the only thing that I think would be truly scary would be face it alone, but I've yet to experience it yet
-
if you mean you've never done saw the ride - I expect this to be way worse. saw the ride's theming isn't really designed to scare you at all, nothing jumps out... its practically nothing compared to a horror maze. and seeing as how DBGT has the same age rating as a horror maze, I expect this to be as scary as one. knowing thorpe it's probably just to hype the ride up and won't be official though, the same thing happened with sub-terra.

I think the forearms look cool. they make it look really disfigured. it suits it in a weird way. hopefully that thing comes real close to you in the attraction and isn't hidden behind some bars or something, it looks great

education is so so awful in this country right now, and it's probably only going to get worse. it rewards the smartest/most able kids the most and completely neglects the less able/disabled students. schools only give a s**t about the kids who can get the grades, and in general really give no help to those students who are struggling. it's terrible. not to mention the changes Gove has made to a levels, he's completely ruined them and made them even more academic and reliant on one exam that you now can't even retake. it infuriates me. none of us even have half a chance anymore, and I'm saying that as apparently quite an able student. education is an absolute mess only focused on getting profits for the gov/unis. and don't even get me started on grants being taken away and uni prices raising. f**k.

I cant vote for another year, but I'll definitely be voting labour in 2020 when I can. cameron, boris johnson and farage annoy the hell out of me. awful dudes I believe we should stay in the EU for a variety of reasons, and I find that the majority of people who bang on about leaving in the EU because of "british identity" and "immigrants ruining our country" are often really hate-filled people. if people have other valid reasons for leaving in the EU though then I'm all for it yeah, that's all I really have to say. I love talking about politics though

the part on the soundtrack starting at around 2:30 has got studio 13 written all over it. I know the studio 13 music was actually from the MBV film, but still

does anyone know if the queue for DBGT continues inside or not? if they don't do a maze based on it I could see them adding actors into the queue. I could also see containment being rethemed to fit w/ DBGT somehow, seeing as it had many references to it last year

I'm late again but whatever, ill carry on. FILM FRIDAY: not from a film, but a tv show, bojack horseman (which is brilliant btw). didnt really know what to put for this but it was an excuse to post another death grips song lmao. absolute banger this one SUPER SATURDAY: this song always makes me feel happy as **** and idk why. also pinkerton is the greatest album of all time and finally, SECRET SUNDAY: ive been waiting for this one. higher power are a relatively unkown hardcore band (however theyre getting pretty popular within the scene) from the uk who are ****ing amazing and deserve all your attention. they literally have like 8 songs out and theyre already one of my favourite bands. so good yeah thats it. really jumbled I feel but yeah I'm just glad to share the music I enjoy. this thread is great

well, I'm late. lets go anyway: MELLOW MONDAY: a great, chill track from my favourite album from one of my favourite bands. totally different to most of their other stuff but their newest album is pretty similair with the shoegazey influence. such a good song CHEESY TUESDAY: the whole trance section of this song (well the whole album really) is really cheesy and cringey compared to the rest of the bands stuff..but honestly, what a tune. WHATEVER WEDNESDAY: another one of my fav bands. theyre pretty hard to get into but I feel like this song is a great introduction to them whilst also not shying away from their heavy side. so yeah this THUMPING THURSDAY: definitely not a typical dance track but I find this band impossible not to move to whilst I'm listening to them, so groovy. theyre insane live too (so..yeah I think thats all ive missed so far. ill post the rest as the week goes along. I'm excited lmao, I love sharing my music taste)
