I've never heard of the ride having problems..? And it's a waste of money for them
-
I think they could potentially turn vengeance from the london dungeon into the 2013 add on to the swarm
-
True... The track should stay the same but a new theme should be rolled out.
-
I don't think they could modify the trains as the track is made for those trains, also there are loads of beams and cross bars holding the track up in place which would probably cause a few problems if spinning trains are added.

I went yesterday too. The theming and lighting for there halloween event is fantastic, beats any other merlin park, thorpe park needs to learn a thing or two. It was pretty busy yesterday vampire was 90minuets at the end of the day... very long. But everything else wasn't so busy. The coolest thing though was being in tomb blaster with no one else on, me and my family took the first cart up with no one else on the other carts. It was pretty cool to have the ride to ourselves and having us score very high. It was a good day out.

I went on it yesterday, It was over very quickly.. But nevertheless it was good.. Better then Asylum or E10..
-
I'm sure there budget for a new flat ride could be well spent in refurbishment on park, X no way out & Colossus should be top of the list. Maybe they could get new trains in to stop the shakiness of Colossus.

I don't think there will be a new ride next year, around this time they'd obviously announce it as were coming into the last month and a bit of the park being opened... Maybe they're planning on improvements.

The 'Definitely 100% Totally Going to Happen' London Resort
NikhilSharma replied to Liam T's topic in UK Attractions
It will be great if this happens.. We will finally have a decent themed theme park with hopefully American standard rides and to universal studios standard theming. -
I've not used the free parking because the barriers have been up when leaving the park.. Even now they've cancelled the perk where you can get discounted tickets for family and friends when someone has a premium pass, I got it for that reason also as many of my friends don't have a pass.. What a waste of £190
-
I'm not sure I will be renewing my pass next year due to closing times for all merlin theme parks being earlier and event's being cancelled.... not really worth it to be honest I haven't used my premium pass perks this year at all, So I think the premium pass was a waste.

Yeah, That path has always been there. Before stealth the area was the flying fish and the gardens. It used to be much larger. Many people don't even know that path even exists.

Six Flags Great Adventure, New Jersey
NikhilSharma replied to NikhilSharma's topic in Your Planned Trips and Reports
Yeah, It's pretty steep it equates out to £75 which is round about the same price as thorpe park's ultimate fast pass, but I think six flag's fast pass is much better. I saved $50 on tickets using taco bell's promo code. I spent the $50 I saved on my fast pass. So I spent $70 on the fast pass which equates to £44 which is reasonable. But if you don't come here often then there's a point of buying it. Also I'm not paying for hotel fee's, I'm staying with a friend and having home cooked meals so therefore I guess it's ok. -
It looks horrible, why waist that money on these 'shipping containers' for a couple of years when the money can be spent for a real hotel to be put in.
-
I did my work experience here this year in the dept rides and attractions, I saw pretty cool stuff like the ride safety checks they've got to go through everyday and the powering up of the ride especially a behind the scenes look of atlantis and star wars. I was a welcome host on both attractions .

Hi Guys, Today I visited Six flags great adventure in jackson, New Jersey (22 August 2012). We arrived at the park thinking that well that it's the end of the summer holidays and that it should be pretty quiet like the time I visited six flags magic mountain at the same time last year. But it was packed, so I decided to go and buy a platinum fast pass which cost me $120 which wasn't bad. With the platinum flash pass the wait time is cut by 90% which means you kinda get straight on which was great, you also receive a wristband which you show to the dispatch team on the ride to ride a second time without queueing again, this was a great idea. I really loved six flag's fast passes. The park was exceedingly busy with queues up to 1 hour which I can't stand to wait even 20minuets for a ride. The park was open from 10am-10pm but we only stayed till 8pm as I had enough of going on the coasters in the park. The flash-pass comes in 3 different tiers 1) Regular- Which means you wait inline like everyone else but you don't physically have to be there in line. 2) Gold- Same as the regular but reduces that time by a bit 3) Platinum- Reduces the wait time by 90% and consecutive riding is allowed on rides Here's my ratings of the rides they have: Kingda Ka:- The tallest coaster on earth. First of all WOW. This ride is very tall (458ft) and very fast (128mph). I really liked this ride but only had a few problems, the train was not smooth it made me bump my head quiet a bit coming down the hill. But never the less I enjoyed it and rode it 4 times. 7/10 Nitro:- A B&M mega coaster that sends you up 230ft and plumets you down a 215ft drop, the ride features six camelbacks, a hammer head turn and a 540-degree helix. This was my favorite coaster out of whole park. It goes up to speeds of 80mph. The train is comfortable and the ride is smooth. I enjoyed it a great deal the ride is massive and takes around 2 minuets to finnish, good job great adventure . 8/10 Superman:- Is a flying coaster manufactured by B&M it's nothing special I can tell you that. It compares to air at alton towers for me. The ride's signature element is its 78-foot (24 m)-tall pretzel loop and an inversion. I didn't really enjoy it that much the one at magic mountain is a lot better . 4/10 Green Lantern:- Another B&M coaster but a stand up coaster. It was originally constructed at Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky in 1997, where it was known as Chang. The ride features a banked 80 degree turn to the drop (144f) It features a loop. Again this coaster didn't do it for me. It hurt like hell trying to stand up, It made my feet hurt for the rest of the day. So I didn't really like it. (trust me if you go on it your legs will be dead by the end of it. 3/10 El Toro:- Voted the best wooden coaster in the world. Most of the day this coaster was down which was disappointing until around 4pm when it reopened. Six flag's parks don't have any wait time boards for their rides so no one knew it was down leaving people trekking along way to that ride on the other side of that park. The ride is manufactured by Intamin of switzerland. It has a steep drop of 78 degrees a height of 188ft and a speed of 70mph (its on fast coaster). This coaster is awesome. The drop is crazy, the head choppers are crazy. It's an insane ride. I liked it. 8/10 Bizzaro/Medusa:- Another coaster manufactured by B&M. Its a floor-less coaster. It has a height of 142ft and a drop of 132ft and speeds up to 61mph. Again this ride was fun but didn't do it for me, it had a simple layout and not much of a standout to it. The ride was re themed to bizzaro from medusa which is similar to the one located at six flags discovery kingdom in California. The ride has on board audio which doesn't sound good as where I was sitting the speakers were way too loud for their size. The ride didn't have much airtime on it. 6/10 Skull Mountain:- Is an indoor coaster which is very bizzar. The ride is in the dark and theres no storyline to it. So there's not much to say. I didn't like it. The Dark Knight Coaster:- Again another indoor dark ride coaster. There's a pre-show to watch. it's on The Dark Knight (obviously). The layout is the same as Chessington's Rattlesnake but inclosed. I didn't like it's sharp turns. 4/10. Batman The Ride:- Yet another B&M batman clone from other six flags parks. This ride is a very forceful one which comes together for a good B&M suspended coaster. It smashes you from side to side hurling you back and forward. After a few rides I had enough. The height of the coaster is 109ft and reaches speeds of 50mph. 6/10 Sky Screamer a funtime star flyer wasn't working the whole day which was unfortunate. And it was their new ride. The park itself has a lot todo. There's a hurricane harbor (water park) and a safari park next to the main theme park. Overall Great Adventure was fun, I had a massive headache because of the sheer amount rides I did lol. But if your planning to visit, book a 3 day in advance ticket which saves you $25 per person. Bring plenty of water because it's expensive on park. Today we at least went though 10 bottles of water. I recommend the flash pass for this park. It's most certainly crowded all the time. It shuts during september during school months Thanks for reading my report. Sorry it's not in much detail, but a brief and simple.

Again I do agree with you, They do have some BRILLIANT rides at SFMM in comparison to the U.K though, Like Tatsu, X2, Riddlers Revenge, Scream and Superman escape from krypton. Yes I do agree they've got some crap ones too. Also we in the U.K have strict height restrictions for our parks. I mean why should we. Chessington isn't in a residential area. I'm not sure about a major flight path being over head of that park but there are some parks that should be allowed to have great tall rides that bring people from all over the world too bask in the rides greatness. I mean I know the park you're talking about Thorpe Park's airspace is taken with Terminal 5s planes. So they have heavy restrictions on height. And there are many crap rides in UK theme parks too, like some coasters in Thorpe or Chessington. Blackpool Pleasure Beaches rides look great and tall too.

Yes, This is true. But merlin's range of rides are next to none against six flags parks, Plus they're open a lot later then merlin parks daily and seasonal, you get more for your cash.

1) Nemesis (Alton Towers)- This ride is insane, the speed and the theming make a great ride, its very intense 2) The Swarm- A unique experience, and wherever you sit you get a different experience on the ride. Unfortunately its too short. 3) Oblivion- The drop into the unknown is very intense but again its a short ride. 4) Air- It didn't appeal to me, It was quiet boring and not interesting but still it's better then Nemesis Inferno. 5) Nemesis Inferno- Absolutely hate this ride, the layout isn't great and the speed isn't there either. It's my worst B&M coaster I've ever ridden

How were the queues?, When I went last year I didn't go on green lantern due to it being down, But I'm glad that I didn't go on it now due to the painful reviews. I also didn't ride superman because It looked so daunting which was a shame because I feel bad for not riding it now. Tatsu was amazing and I do agree that the pretzel loop is so intense. x2 was an amazing roller coaster and Its my fav coaster at the moment, I did the ride both in the daytime and at night, but oh boy at night the effects come to play like the fire+sound and the lighting which makes the ride so awesome. I did do riddlers my legs killed after the ride, Scream and viper were awesome too

I've found some pictures on my laptop I took a while back while the groundworks were taking place for the swarm, here they are. They aren't great but I thought I'd upload them anyway
