After recent contact with Thorpe Park, I found this at the bottom of there email pretty interesting... 'Special events including Fireworks' Not sure if the park are planning a fireworks event for this year, but I think one would be great! I never went to the firework event they used to hold, but Alton's one looks great. This obviously isn't confirming anything, but they didn't have that last season when contacting them. Also worth noting they have Easter, and there isn't an Easter event at the moment.

Saw was the only thing that closed yesterday because of wind, guess it depends on the wind direction really as last year the Swarm was closed most of the day because of wind, and Saw wasn't. About Vortex being closed, I think it's suffering restraint issues as a photo on Facebook shows some of the backs of the seats have been taken off. I believe a few seats were closed when it first opened as well? (Photo from Theme park incorporated)

X is on the same team as Stealth, Inferno, Rumba and Angry Birds 4D this season Don't think Colossus is on 2 yet as it reached 90 minutes on the weekend Agreed it is a nightmare, hopefully it'll be on 2 trains for Easter. Colossus was a lot better last year than previous years for 2 train opp, so hopefully that'll continue.

Staff aren't meant to tell you what's wrong with the rides, but some do. Back to having 4 rides closed, not good. X closed around half 1 yesterday, seems to be very unreliable this season and keeps opening pretty late. Don't think I had ever seen X down before this season

So Detty and Vortex have both been down the last 4 days now... anyone know whats wrong with them? Hopefully they'll be open again for the holidays.

Before I joined this forum, way before the runaway mine train was the scorpion express, I never realised the fish and the runaway mine train were the exact same haha. Can't remember the last time I've heard Saw's offload and queue music, glad they've finally fixed it. Speaking of park music, I hope they fix Detonators music. Not sure what Infernos is like this year, but didn't seem as good last year than previous years. The entrance music never played in the queue line like in previous years and the station music never seemed as loud

Anyone know anything about the cycles? How many is there? Which ones does it usually run on? Which ones are the best? What are the staff like when you ask for a decent one?

Well, it opened for 3 and a half hours at least Did you get a go on it? Was it running well?

About capacity, people on Facebook have been complaining that it's been taking over 5 minutes to unload and load Octonauts. Over 5 minutes to get 14 people off and on a ride is ridiculous.

No idea... Detonator and Vortex have been closed all day today. They didn't say Vortex was going to be closed tomorrow though so should be open soon.

Thorpe Park have said on Facebook that the only rides scheduled to be closed tomorrow are Slammer and Detonator, so they are planning on having Samurai open tomorrow! It's been testing today. Hopefully it'll be more reliable this year after the work it's had done over closed season.

Rumba Rapids re-opened today at around 12ish. Good they got it open quicker than expected.

That's such a shame, re-riding nemesis last time I went was one of the best parts of alton towers. I don't understand why they've done this? Yes people can re ride or whatever but what harm is this causing? It's literally just filling up empty seats? Rumba Rapids was testing today, so hopefully they'll get it open this weekend! It does say on there website however it'll be returning in Easter, so I guess it could return anyday between now and then.

Personally find it crazy how on a Saturday they opened all their coasters on one train. They left them on 1 train till around midday making the Swarm reach 70 minutes, then told people of twitter they won't unless theirs demand?

Accroding to the queue times, Kobra, Rattlesnake, Skyway and Toadies are all open now. Very poor start of the season from Chessington. Yes Thorpe had a lot closed, but at least only 1 was a main attraction.
