  1. Went to the Brighton pier for a bit today as I was in Brighton anyway and ended up having a good time. When we got there Air Race, The Booster, Turbo coaster, Crazy mouse, Helter Skelter, Carousel were all closed due to adverse weather conditions. As soon as we walked up to the Booster, they were just about to open it so we thought we might as well buy wristbands which were only £10 because of ride closures. We then got on the Booster for my first time, and it was awesome, I loved the point when you go past the top and then your car thing spins, the feeling was awesome. Looking around at the top while they unload and load people is also nice, shame the cycle is soo short though! When we were at the top we could see air race testing, so then we went to that. Air race was awesome! The restraints were comfy and on my last ride I counted the inversions, 18! We then went for lunch and some shopping and came back later. None of the other closed rides had opened, but I wasn't really bothered, I would of liked to do the wild mouse but that doesn't matter too much. The manager said because of the wind it would just get stuck halfway through the ride. It was funny seeing the Carousel moving on it's own because of the wind! Air race did have a few problems but it was only due to the weather, they need to be lined up straight before the ride can start or for the restraints to release and the wind was moving them, so a member of staff had to come and stop them swinging or make them straight in order for it too work. In total we did 3x Air race, 2x Galaxia, 1x The booster, 2x Twister, 4x Wild River, 2x Dodgems, 1x Horror Hotel, 1x Waltzers. Bearing in mind that these rides range from £3 - £5 each, £10 for the whole day is really good value. There was no queues yesterday really, except from the booster and the horror hotel. I wouldn't recommend queuing for the horror hotel (it was awful) Everything else we just waited for the cycle to finish and we were on the next ride!
  2. The wristband offer is on for the whole of the summer holidays

I was about to say I think I've seen similar ones at Thorpe park in the dome. I think it's a good thing to be honest. I wouldn't call it money making, think about the amount of people in the park, if they were free everyone would probably be trying to charge there phones even if they're not dead, I doubt many places let you charge your phones for free.

Exactly the same for me like 2 weeks ago, my friend agreed with me as well. Defiantly will be riding at the front more!
  5. Good that testing has started again! Toward the end of last month the lift cable had to be replaced, no idea why. Hopefully it will open very soon! http://www.pixelsattheparks.com/2014/07/20/falcons-fury-at-busch-gardens-tampa-cable-replacement-photo-update-from-7192014/
  6. They did this last year with Vortex, but it was for everyone not just hotel guests. Shame it's only hotel guests now. Hopefully it's Rush or Vortex
  7. Found a video of Vattenskidjon, never seen anything like it before, looks like a lot of fun. Would love somewhere in the UK to get something similar but can't see that happening!
  8. The 'first to ride' for annual pass holders has been going on pretty much all season. The Fast track access for the first hour however is just for hotel guests, which I think has also been going on since the shark hotel opened.

Someone posted on here that it was 3 people at a time, so I just assumed it was 3 at a time. There are hour slots, so I think 10 people in one hour isn't worth it, you aren't going to get very long at all.
  10. Hello Kitty Secret Garden is now open at the park and is looking really good! Haven't seen it in person but from this video it looks really well done, and it looks like a great area for kids. I also like it because it is something different at the park, they don't have any other rides apart from a Thomas train ride. Wish they had this when I was a kid and went to the park

Now that's actually a really good deal, something I will defiantly be getting this season if not next season. Glad there's actually finally an unlimited photo pass at a decent price

The Sun are giving away 2 free tickets to Thorpe Park like they did with Chessington and Alton Towers. All you need to do is collect tokens from the newspaper which starts tomorrow. It's well worth doing if you don't have an annual pass or have friends that don't have them. These are the dates you can pick from - Band Dates A September 3 - September 7, 2014 B September 8 - September 11, 2014 C September 12 - September 14, 2014 D September 15 - September 18, 2014 E September 19 - September 21, 2014 F September 22 - September 25, 2014 G September 26 - October 5, 2014 H October 6 - October 9, 2014 I November 3 - November 7, 2014
  13. Well the 2 days I was there, my family just showed the friends and family ticket and they were aloud in no problem.
  14. If you're talking about the friends and family tickets, yes

This sounds really fun. I've heard they did this on Detonator before (ages ago) and at the top you pass the cup around, when it then drops the person who has the cup will obviously be wet. This they did things like this more often, as it would be great fun. Would be entertaining to watch from queue lines as well.

Up to 10 people is ridiculous, thought it was only 3 people? Defiantly won't be trying this out in the summer then.
  17. Cal replied to MarkC's topic in General Discussion
Zodiac was open for Summer nights? That's new. Maybe they just had extra staff?
  18. Cal replied to Harry's topic in General Discussion
Would be great to see it return though, especially at Summer nights and at Fright Nights!

I think the reason it was removed as the gas tanks were in Stealths area, so they needed to remove them for Stealth. Not 100percent sure though, someone correct me if that's wrong
  20. Cal replied to Artie's topic in The Past
Not saying you are wrong, but I don't think that was the case as a shortwhile after they were batching people in the air gates while the ride was in motion, and it was the same staff.
  21. Cal replied to Marc's topic in General Discussion
I have been on the Dodgems plenty of times on two different days, and every time I've queued. I've never seen anyone be forced to go in a two before so I don't understand why they were doing this?
  22. Cal replied to Artie's topic in The Past
When I went (last Wednesday) there was enough staff to batch while in operation, there were 2 in each consoles. But they didn't. Later on that day they did, but then they kept them 2-3 minutes behind the air gates and then 2-3 mins again before locking the restraints so they are defiantly slowing down operations for some reason.

    Dun dun dunnnnn (From TPG)

When I went (last Wednesday) the music wasn't on, and there was also no music playing on the bride which is a shame. I would of liked to hear the new music with the video.
  25. Colossus was on 1 train all day this time last week, and also had a very quick shut down in the morning. Not very good as it's a busy time, hopefully it will have it's other train back soon Well that's probably the most amount of shut downs I've seen for one day. I've noticed that Vortex has had quite a few shut downs/downtime recently.
