  1. If its still in the same state on Saturday, I will get a couple of snaps for you
  2. On Sunday there were massives of people cutting the queues for stealth, saw and swarm when there was only a 5 minute wait anyway. However, the queue boards were all saying massive queue times! Not sure what was up with the queue boards on Sunday but at one point saw was displaying 'WAITING TIME U MINUTES'! Shame that they have got rid of the old 'brave the force of the mighty warrior in 5 mins' slogans and just replaced them with 'WAITING TIME 5 MINS'
  3. Reading the article it says that chessington do not know if the people stuck will be compensated! Surely they have to be given something for being stuck for 4 hours, we were given free fastrack for getting stuck on loggers leap for 10 mins!
  4. That would be funny if it opened tomorrow
  5. Chessington seems to have fallen to pieces this year. I cannot say if chessington will close rameses revenge altogether but all I can say is I hope that they dont! I would say that they should buy a new, better model however this is unlikely to happen and I guess we will have to wait and see what happens to poor rameses revenge.
  6. I'm just saying it was quite slow loading however that did not matter as the queue was short!
  7. Probably just a free fastrack for rameses revenge when it reopens
  8. I was expecting something to happen like this sooner or later. Rameses revenge is forever breaking down at the top however it only takes 5 mind for them to lower it down- it only had to be a matter of years before it got stuck there for longer! Shame really, I really wanted to ride when I go this Saturday
  9. Yea that wasn't working! However, the queue was so short there wasn't even anyone there to listen to it!
  10. Thorpe park have gone back to their usual self! Operations today seemed generally poor however some of the rides were really good! I would just like to point out that the queue time boards today were not working at all and saw and stealth tended to say 'Queue time U minutes'!

    X

X was closed most of the morning today however it opened up in the afternoon... Didn't bother to ride it though!
  12. Suffered 2 sets of technical issues today... - One in the morning, ride was closed for about 30 mins - One in the afternoon, ride was closed for about 2 hours Saw seems to have become much more unreliable recently... On a plus note, all the effects were working today!
  13. I'd just like to point out about the operations on detonator today... The lady who was doing the restraints way pretty poor and took about 5 mins to load up and check restraints and she spent ages letting people on(people who were not tall enough) to tell them they had to get off. Ride operations were really slow and the man in the booth only dropped the carriage about 30 secs after the countdown had ended... He didn't seem to be paying attention... Really poor!
  14. Exactly, the board said 10 mins forwards and 10 mins backwards it turned out to be 5 mins forward and 30 mins backwards!
  15. I sware the swarm queue time board is always advertising the backwards queue exactly the same as the forwards queue!?
  16. Right, thought I would contribute to this discussion Firstly, I think the return of themed areas is a super idea This is a great idea however the themed areas would have to somehow link together. I don't like the theme parks which you go around into different lands however there is no link between them watsoever. This is like thorpe's old lands; meaning that most of the rides in current lands would have to be rethemed. I also don't see what that link could be for thorpe, they are on thorpe lake and their name has no significant theme linked to it. It could be a tricky one especially with the swarm and saw island sitting there. At the moment when going to thorpe park I don't think about the theme of lands as its all a bit jumbled up and doesn't really make sense, however even with themed areas I still think it wouldn't make sense unless they were linked together. Chessington however has the advantage with this, their title is 'world of adventures' and their lands are all linked to different parts of the world. I think that is why chessington's themeing is actually a success. I don't know if thorpe would be able to link all the lands together without making significant changes. Although changing the themeing is a good idea I don't see why thorpe have themed X to a rave theme if they are planning re-adding the themes to the lands. X is part of the lost city although it is not easy to tell what land it is in however the themeing of X does not link up with the lost city at all. X no way out however kind of linked in. This is why I don't think thorpe are even re-considering making their park like they used to have it with the distinctive lands. If thorpe do change their target market I just hope they decide to improve their investments. I do not want to see a couple of kiddie rides coming in as a medium/major investment. I go to thorpe park because I love the thrills so I do not want the whole family market taking over like it is at chessington. As well as family and kid rides, they need to add big thrills aswell. I just hope thorpe don't go off adding big thrills if they change their market! Finally, I would say that lowering height restrictions is an idea that could be considered but it is not likely to happen! The height restrictions have been put in for H&S reasons so why would they be lowered at all? Even though other rides the same as the ones at thorpe park may have lower height restrictions, I doubt they would be lowered.
  17. Hope it's not like this when I go! If they do replace the queue boards, then PLEASE can they get them for rides like Seastorm, monkey swinger and black buccaneer because other wise you have to journey all they way to market square to find out the queue time and then by the time you've got back the queue has doubled in length!
  18. All the coasters were running 2 trains when the queues were 0 mins.
  19. Thorpe have definately improved their ride dispatching. Whilst the loading for rush was slow and completely messed up the other day (they put too many people through compared to the amount of seats) the coasters had great dispatching and were going out really quickly!
  20. Like the 'face your friends' idea where you can face your friends with 2 riding forwards and 2 riding backwards. This way you wouldn't have too queue extra for back rows!
  21. I'm still not going on it everyone's legs fly about in the air I really hope I can go down to brean this summer, although I have practically done all the rides there but at different places I still think it would be nice to go with a friend. Also, it means I can get an extra trip to a funpark/theme park because I generally just go to thorpe and chessie! I also tend to head down to the rose pleasure parks. Boy are they good http://www.rosespleasureparks.co.uk/about Incase you don't know what they are, they are basically funfairs but you pay £6.99 to ride as much as you like; it's basically a cheaper version of brean
  22. It still looks unsafe to me! The only one I would ever consider trying is deep impact as that as overhead bars! It's a ride made by KMG:http://www.kmg.nl/kmg/factory/xfactory_en.html The only one cool thing about these types of rides is that you get tilted forwards and squirted by water, that is if the ops are mean enough to actually get you wet!
  23. Haha When I go **hopefully** I will be staying well clear of X factory. Although they have the cool water effects I hate that type of ride! I did one called big wave at villacher kirchtag in Austria and I felt like I was about to fall out! I kept screaming that I wanted to get off but the ride would just not stop- I wouldn't have minded it if the bars were individual but it was just this metal bar going down across the whole row and I could have easily slipped out!
  24. We were thinking about coming here as we got free tickets to the water park but surprisingly we didn't go!? Maybe we will head down this summer! Great report and ride count but I am very suprised you didn't ride X factory I hate those type of rides and I am going to stay well clear of it but I was just wondering why you didn't ride I rode a version of xtreme called XLR8 at eastcote funderpark and although the ride is great they are full of force and they are really intense! That was the downside as when we went backwards it was fine but when we went forwards I just got forced into the restraint! I'm excited to go here as there are some decent rides so hopefully I will get down soon
