Got into the park about 10:10, and majority of the park was still closed/testing. Got evacuated out of the queue for loggers leap and Colossus today, everyone was given a priority pass... both rides remained closed for the rest of the afternoon. Vortex closed all day. Storm surge had a lengthy closed period in the day, but got on it in the afternoon, and then I spotted it broke down and must have been evacuated nearer to the park close time. although I usually use queue-times.com, I found it to be extremely unreliable today, in comparison to the boards around the parks and on the ride entrances (and yes I checked when it had last updated). After Colossus and Loggers had broke, and closed, the site was still showing open with a queue time. Also seen tidal wave on 14 minute queue, and stealth on a really odd queue time which couldn't have been right. So was a bit disappointed with the site today. And as for Thorpe I swear they try their best to make me hate the park, with celebrity cyclone on I'm a celeb completely boarded up and closed off with a fire exit being used as the finish, and other rides closed... I still keep going back to my favourite park, why!?

Spotted this on screamscape.. icon_STOP2017 - Project 2017 - Rumor - (8/5/15) It seems a bit early for this, but a local guest tells me that a "jeep" has appeared somewhere inside Blackpool Pleasure Beach with the words, "Project 2017" written on it. I'm told that most of the jeep is currently covered up, except for the park with the text, but if the park is really trying to hype a project for 2017 at this point in time... it could be for something massive, like a new roller coaster at long last. Anyone have a picture of the jeep to share?

If there truly is very limited spaces like its a more personal experience then I can sorta understand the price and I'm sure there's people out there with the money that will do it and fill up the spaces!
-
Did it say 'including' though? I reckon we could see a new scare zone to replace the loss of Studio 13 As I'm unsure of any other locations a maze could go? Without using a marquee which they were trying to stop using.

They could have at least kept the queue and added the shortcut for really quiet days.

Believe if you wish... Apparently Samurai is due (and even I take the prediction from a worker on such an unreliable ride with a pinch of salt) to reopen end of next week. I wonder how much money The rides like slammer and samurai have haemorrhaged from thorpes budget, and if it's really worth keeping them. They must think so! If samurai does reopen I can see it being closed by fright nights as per usual!

Chessington Howl'o'ween
OldFarmerDean replied to Dan_Rush's topic in Chessington World of Adventures
The immersion and theatrical side to the Chessington Halloween attractions is what makes them so good. You don't need gore, just a jump scare which is emphasised completely by the fact your mind is taken off of it with a surreal storyline that you're part of. I also love the lighting at Chessington and hope the same teams are still responsible this year as it really makes the event for me, and to an extent leaves me disappointed with Thorpe and Towers! -

Ah thanks for this extra info... What other space does Chessington have for the extra attraction? Like I heard they had another attraction the year I didn't go called the krypt or something? -

So in a video released by Chessington recently... Informs us about two new attractions for their Halloween event. http://youtu.be/HVZ7hLwJEEA Trick or Treat in the Woods and Curse of the Lost Tomb. So no other information has been given, but I'm somewhat concerned vampire haunting in the hollows has been replaced, unless the trick or treat in the main square is literally just been given a revamp but seems a bit exaggerated having it in a new attraction release video. -
Sorry if that was worded a bit weirdly... they were cost cutting anyway before... But it seems the smiler incident has potentially made it even worse to cut already appalling hours for the summer to even earlier closing times due to the parks being so quiet most likely due to the smiler incident.
-
This is why Merlin having shareholders was/is a bad idea to be fair... They probably only look in terms of short term to keep the shareholders happy cutting costs. And giving a worse experience to the end guests which will probably affect them enough in the long term... Merlin have been doing this for way too long and The (albeit very unfortunate and to an extent beyond their cost cutting) smiler incident has just pushed them over the edge. I really don't want them to fail in the theme park industry but I can see it becoming very stagnent and dare I say non existant... They make plenty enough profit from mid way attractions and seem a lot more reliable.

I didn't like the meat shop section this time... I thought this is different, wasn't aware until it kept going on about Jack the ripper. Agreed the Todd bit fits best with the chairs, but I thought it was great having something different for a change otherwise the dungeons just get a bit boring the same thing over and over.

I've been Thorpe 12 times this year so far, and by the end of the season will be a record for me... I wish I didn't enjoy and be interested in theme parks so much, as there are so many things that bother me, and not just Thorpe, or even Merlin, most UK parks I've been to. I wish I could go back to not knowing in detail about theme parks, so I could go (albeit a lot more than a normal general public guest) and not be annoyed and frustrated about how they run the parks or have not bothered to do something which seems so simple! I've never had a bad visit to a theme park, of course things bother me and I have complaints from time to time or at least left some sort of feedback like on Twitter, but I just enjoy theme parks that much I don't know if I could have a bad day! I do need to get out and try some new theme parks though outside of England as the quality and care for guest satisfaction does look a lot better... Although I don't want it to show up Merlin too much and it spoiling it for me going to Thorpe etc. every time thinking how much even better it could be!

Had another great run through yesterday, walked up to it thinking it was closed as there was no one at all queueing and the staff were hid under the canopy... Probably had something to do with the rain anyways there was 6 of us and they let us in to the seating preshow area and then after a short while said actually apologies we may have to ask you to wait back outside until there is 10 people, we can't run it without 10 people and you're not allowed to wait in here... Which I thought was extremely odd, anyway luckily 4 more people turned up just as we got up to leave.

Boat ride was closed today, didn't even notice, like I was expecting to have to go through a side door or something, but it just seem to go on as normal and completely bypassing it which was cool, although a shame it was closed of course! Nice to see bits being changed for special periods with the Sweeney Todd and meat shop sections being changed (nothing about Sweeney Todd at all) to Jack the Ripper!

Brief review. Wow, incredible amount of effort seemingly put into it and generally a really cleverly thought out attraction, loved it! Only downside was the bus simulator which I've heard really good things about, the bus was stationary and didn't even move, and the screen didn't appear 4d very well with the glasses on.

To be fair they do have summer nights and island beats til 10pm which I reckon they're trying to push. But then you've got the Sunday - Thursday where you've lost an hour of park opening! And I know about 9.30am opening is normal, the rides aren't actually ready usually at 9.30 though. So I wonder if all rides will be open on time for 9.30 now it's advertised.
-
When I checked it was 5pm close for July, thankfully it's changed back to 6pm now and open at 9.30 so no change. I'm glad as I'm not going til like 4 on Friday and wanted some significant time to do the non summer night attractions! Also to note. Wednesday 7th and Friday 8th October are closed!?!?!?
-
Don't speak too soon! There's still time for a half 4 close in the summer holidays to happen!
-
The music was very quiet last weekend too!
-
The roar will be silenced... I love it aha! And there's a possibility that I might get to visit here when I go to California next year, so I can't complain at two RMC's!!
-
They realised the devastation it caused people only having 2 mazes... And most likely without the smiler needed more to help with queues slightly I guess. Plus I love how they just scrap a scare zone after a year - not so scary tales! Am really looking forward to it now though, (was really disappointed last year so wasn't really looking forward to it this year) hoping I can find some time to go!

Depends if it's 'DJ Fresh Live' or 'DJ Fresh DJ Set'

Hyperia Speculation and Construction Thread

Update the rapids with more Rapids and water features, and then make the indoor section like the inside of a volcano with flashing red and orange lights and possibly a water effect randomly going off like in Zufari but that actually gets you wet; would be so awesome as I do love Rapids, just rumba is a little disappointing with how much potential it's got. And then on the lake could have a large flat ride, or as I'd love to see (although not so sure I love the throughput of) an Intamin Zacspin! -
I went on it Saturday and Sunday and noticed no difference in operation, only braking being the lift hill of course and at the end, at one time I seen 3 cars on the outdoor section.
