  1. Ah fair enough... Does make you realise though how many food outlets Thorpe actually has aha!EDIT: apparently the hot dog stand by Colossus of as open... But guess that was for island beats only as that area was closed off of course.
  2. Lack of food places? fins, KFC, Burger King, Peckish, Amity Kebabs and Amity bites were open which I thought was good... Plus fish and chips stayed open til about half 6
  3. What makes me laugh is how there is basically no queue up the bag drop on the swarm for the physical queues... But reserve and ride are making people wait over 10 minutes til they can ride, I don't get the logic!?
  4. Well initial bit was quite bad but I guess they spread out and most of them left after a couple of rides. Still a nice chilled atmosphere, but no music playing around the park !?
  5. I got scared by the amount of people leaving the island beats area and entering into the rides when it finished just before 9... It's a shame it's not the non existent queues we come to expect after that happened and will happen every island beats night now :/ but a lovely warm evening and quiet up until then!
  6. The stage is facing towards the crust food outlet and Colossus... I remember when they were testing for sound with the decibel readers back in the beginning of the season, and the way the actual stage area is now built would suggest that's the case.I'm going tonight... I'm not looking forward to hearing The Vamps while I'm in the park haha
  7. Alton Towers seem to cope fine with decent capacity and fast track... Why not Thorpe! It just seems logically they don't have the budget for maintenance unfortunately, in turn puts more pressure on the maintenance staff, and eventually (and I hope so Merlin will do something), going to end up regret doin what they're doing and have more and more unhappy guests with the ridiculous queues because of reduced capacity and substantial fast track sales!
  8. It's on a purpose built stage by the crust restaurant in lost city, which the area will be closed off for island beats ticket holders only... I'm not sure of how close you can get as a normal summer nights guest, or how well you could hear it.
  9. admittedly fair enough to be annoyed about several sections closed... but the amount of regular visitors like annual pass holders that would get bored of the same thing; it's good they tweak things from time to time - be grateful!
  10. the queue time on saw said 40 minutes, once and even I could see from the entrance there was blatently not a queue that long, barely anyone waiting in the outdoor queue; so the fast track salesman stood almost blocking the entrancing trying and succeeding selling fast track vouchers to unfortunate guests; when I decided to queue wasn't any more than 15/20 minutes altogether. similar with The Swarm where there was essentially no queue at all before the baggage room, and there was someone selling fast tracks then... so thorpe must pressure their staff so much for sales targets, presumably, that the staff have no morals and will happily sell the fast track tickets knowing the queue isn't as long as advertised (and not inform anyone of the incorrect time! Also in regards to amount of trains... thorpe always seems to be the worst when it comes to one train operation... as far as I'm aware it's down to cost of staff to maintain/check the trains... as when I had a behinds the scenes tour of stealth and Q&A, it was brought up, and apparently it takes 2 hours to check one stealth train every morning, and then every so often more significant checks need to be made, hence why most of the time a second train is added later in the morning, and some midweek days it's on one train so the other can be prepared ready for a busier day(s); which this seems fair enough to an extent, but if more money was spent on maintenance staff, maybe most ride could be on two trains from opening even on quieter days (like alton towers)... as one train operation can turn a nice off peak day into hell!
  11. Funderworld is usually a really big one with a spinning (crazy) mouse amongst loads of other flat rides, a couple of years ago it had this big mine train ride, apparently the UK's largest travelling rollercoaster. like £12.99 for 4 hours I went to one up in Stoke-On-Trent, and it was advertised as one of UK's largest travelling fairs, and at £7.99 I thought wow that's amazing, got there and there wasn't any coasters and probably no more than 10 rides, like a freakout, superstar, sticky wall, waltzers and a fabbri booster etc. it really wasn't that special. but for £7.99 still really good value!
  12. My other favourite flat ride (well at a fair) is the Zeirer starshape - Danters Air. That ride is consistently amazing, unless it's a dead short cycle like a minute or so which is ridiculous but ah well! Funderworld came back to Bristol this year after a year break... They had a Mondial Turbine this year, went to funderworld (a wristband entry fair) must have went on it like 4 or 5 times had a couple of decent cycles, a couple of terrible boring cycles... And my last go, never had such an intense ride cycle in my life, the bloke was manually controlling it and knew exactly what he was doing, stopping the gondola at the top and spinning several times and then swinging back around all the way upside down, I almost fainted, seriously! Need more wristband fairgrounds around!!
  13. Intamin megalite like Piraten or the Mack equivalent... Pretty cheap, not too tall or a massive footprint. Island next to swarm. Spend lots on themeing and effects. Perfect. Or more of a family coaster like Juvelen or even 13... I do enjoy fun rides as well, and I'm thinking practically due to their change in target market and the fact the rides appeal to everyone with a 1.2m height restriction. I do think bigger the better sometimes... Shambhala is my favourite ride after my first of 20 goes in a weekend, I've come to appreciate airtime so much more now! It's a while away anyway, an RMC also wouldn't be bad... Cmon, please me Thorpe, I'm not being that picky haha!
  14. I do love these wristband funfairs... Otherwise you wouldn't go on anywhere near as many rides and spend an absolute fortune! Although I do feel obliged to go on the rides and come away feeling so sick haha! You're so lucky to have rock rage... Only been on it once and that was at Hyde park winter wonderland last year, was literally my favourite flat ride experience ever and lasted a good few minutes and somehow didn't come off feeling ill!!
  15. The problem is, we/you're not most people... I don't bother clicking on the link, but just looking at the comments of these pages that get shared just make me want hit my head against the wall about how misinformed and easily led they are to jump on the bandwagon about things without properly thinking and finding out first; saying that, I blame the newspapers and other organisations on Facebook etc. that share the scaremongering stories more than most of the stupid people on Facebook.
  16. So a bit related to summer nights as well... But just remembered that Colossus isn't going to be open when I went to book another ticket for summer nights. So according to the event brite page, only the swarm, saw the ride (which we know that will be closed), stealth, nemesis inferno and X... Is that all!?
  17. what about sub terra or ripsaw? didn't check ridetimes today... was annoying we spotted sub terra was open for a little bit in the morning and then closed the rest of the day yesterday!
  18. One of the trains was going round empty all day though, or at least on the occasions I went on it, and was around the dark forest.
  19. Well personally to me, that would seem to be the end goal, as when I used it last year it was set up with a purchase button etc. of course it was free as its trials... But I reckon it will be a mobile version of queue bot which you can pay on your phone, and you would also be able to buy single fast tracks as well. But they obviously need some vigorous testing to ensure it works correctly before they start selling the service
  20. When I done a behind the scenes tour... The staff said how essentially it does not roll back any more; it may have a failed launch where it only goes slightly up the hill, but nowhere near the top hat and then roll back.
  21. Can't believe it will have been a whole 7 weeks since my last visit! Quick question: what time has it recently been opening on weekends for annual pass holders and then for general guests... Going this Sunday; and do they still let friends with the £10 annual pass voucher tickets in with the annual pass holder for ERT. Thanks!
  22. Stumbled upon this song while on youtube... has a cool video, if anyone is interested in the park!
