surely it should be higher shouldn't it? When X had all across lap bars the restriction was high and with the individual ones its lower so shouldn't the same rules apply here??
Those lap bars remind me of the ones on a B&M hyper coaster (the clam shell I think they are called??) they remind me of the ones on Nitro. The lap bars on here don't look anything like the ones used on Iron Shark which I would have expected
If it re-opens that is, if they've had to cut through the restraints then it probably wont re-open will it because to get new ones fitted will be a hell of a lot of money that Merlin wont spend on Chessington. As Pluk said a few posts back.

Is that right? Is it supposed to run with 5 trains?
Yes I think it is but the last train is still not in use yet, and did that actually happen to that coaster or is it a photoshop image
While I encourage the whole family audience thing but remember isn't this what Chessington tried doing and look at the place now.......its not exactly amazing or for thrill seekers IMO. IF this rebrand does go fully ahead could we see another Chessington emerge from Merlin. Also when you think about it if Merlin turned Thorpe into another Chessington it would put the spotlight on Alton making more money there? Could this be another reason for the rebrand or am I just being a bit worried.
Yeah you're right with the big parks not celebrating but the big parks like Thorpe, Alton etc are expected to be open for lots of years where as the smaller regional parks aren't doing so well and its a good thing that they are staying open hence the big celebrations.
they say bad things come in threes, and well the Smiler's three are the groundworks, bad weather and then the valleying or stalling. Surely nothing else can go wrong now
Wicked Witches Haunt, annoyingly I never got to ride it but from what ive heard and from pictures it looked really good. Also Thorpe really needs a decent dark ride/ghost train type of ride maybe a scarier version of Over the Hill at Adventure Island at Southend. I'd love to see CCR make a return in the next few seasons as well. It'd be brilliant if they'd re-grow all of the bushes and make the Flying Fish how it used to be as well.
They're not supposed to leave the station until the other one is on the brake run though is it? Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm still waiting to be corrected (sorry if this counts as the wrong forum-Smiler reference)
Yeah but its not got a great deal that you can do with it. The trains look quite nice and modern IMO and as for the station well its not like the Swarm and cant have something like a wrecked church as a station can it though? Have to admit though from what I've seen the theming isn't good at all but the area looks really nice and modern though.
Just saw this, must be testing as the train that was there yesterday has gone overnight, must be night testing and with the opening day looming they have to be testing it now but just at night.
Credit for this picture goes to Towers Times
yeah but while everyone says that they should bring back the fright night hours from the past, I'm not to sure how the staff would feel about working for that long all day. And it would be like a supermarket at night, creepy and strange at 11:00 with no one but super chavs around.
