  1. Mega park like disney destroyed by the system, I am 99.99999% certain Thorpe will have same fate. It cant be done. Physically or theoretically. If they offer enough attractions to get the system working then they wont need the system. Queues cant be removed, 20,000 people in the park will go somewhere. They will allocate themselves where they want to spend their own time. They don't want to be forced into shops. It doesn't increase ride count, it doesn't allow more to be done in a day. It just redistributes people. It doesn't solve anything. The second Thorpe understands that then they would stop the entire idea. If anyone disagrees I'm willing to explain the entire idea of RnR in extreme detail explaining the dynamics of it however I don't think that belongs in a fright nights thread.

  2. I mentioned no limits because you asked if I had ever deigned a coaster. It is design software so the answer is yes. Also I never said I was any good, having ideas is one thing, expressing them is another and as I cant be bothered to put in the vast amount of time required my coasters are normally building less.

The watch tower design in my opinion looks bland and a bit of an eye sore. I am fully aware they are not going to leave it as a 260ft slab of concrete, I was just saying that the building would require a lot of work for me to classify it as nice and that it adds to the ride rather than it being what it currently seems like of being a pointless.

  3. I use no limits 2 a fair amount and no one with any sense would build a 200ft tower of concrete. There is better ways to intimidate people than annoying any local residents that can see the thing. Something tells me its not too easy to keep themeing in a good condition when your slab of concrete is 200ft tall.

  4. There is one pretty easy way which is pretty much bullet proof. Normal queuing plus a fastlane type system cedar fair uses. Its still a queue just a shorter one, with perfect allocation as long as the host counts the right number of people which had been pre-determined. That way ride breakdowns don't effect it, no over allocation to reduce fastrack queue and Thorpe would still make some money. All without the need of a stupid virtual system that makes queues longer, guest miserable, and destroys itself when a ride breaks down.

  5. As it stands - I agree there isn't enough things to do with RnR in full operation, realistically though I think if they can make it work as they want to that is years away, in which time they could add additional things to do to help combat this problem.

If they added things to help combat the problem then RnR wouldn't be needed as the queues would have been reduced by what they have added.

  6. There is so many things I could point out that are wrong with that statement however RnR on just the mazes will probably work. The mazes have a low throughput for the people in the queues to be reduced with little overall effect.  but the impression I get form the site is that there is no card system making any person who doesn't have a smart phone have a bad day. There is still many people with no smartphone so to abandon that part is disappointing.

    With a smartphone:

    1. When you arrive at the Resort, connect to FREE Wifi by registering for ‘The Cloud’ on your smartphone. Go online and register at www.reservenride.com

    2. Select your favourite maze and book your place in the virtual queue. Then it’s time for you to enjoy the rest of the Fright Nights rather than waiting in a standard queue.

    3. Go to the maze at your allocated time and scan your smartphone.

    4. Face the fear, and then reserve your next maze!

    No smartphone?

Don't worry, you'll still be able to join the queue for the mazes.

  7. That is not news that is thorpe paying the daily mail for advertisment. Looking around the park yesterday there wasnt much work going on which was a bit of a dissapointment as I expected them to do more work to studio 13.

  8. Good amount of mist today, it also surprisingly started on 2 trains. The fastrack queue was only filling the back 2 rows, if there were enough people to fill 2 rows. There was hardly any fastrack people today, only the odd people who had wasted their money on a platinum pass. Nemesis inferno was actually pretty quite all day. Only mishap was a lengthy closure and the large ish queue upon its reopening.

  9. Detty, vortex, inferno, swarm, storm surge and saw did break down. However I did forget about the existence of depth charge, rocky, and samurai. So I will change my statement to all rides which anyone cares about broke down at some point.

Detty definitely opened late as we were turned away from it, loggers as usual people were not allowed in the queue until 11 and tidal wave opened late with no water on the drop all day.

  10. Mixed day today. Up until about 1:30 was dire. The park opened with, tidal wave, x, flying fish, Colossus, stealth, dodgems, rush, slammer, loggers leap and detonator closed. Then by 11 slammer, loggers leap opened as usual along with Colossus and tidal wave. X and flying fish were closed all day. Stealth was closed until 1 ish broke down repeatedly and ended the day on 1 train. Dodgems had 8 broken cars by the end and kept closing.  Detonator was on and off all day whilst making some very odd noises. Nemesis inferno was down for about an hour around half 2 ish. Swarm was on 1 train until 1:30. Rush opened with 1 swing at around 1 ish.

However after all the break downs it wasn't too busy and became more enjoyable.

    Ride count:

    Swarm 7

    Nemesis inferno 6

    Stealth 2

    saw 1

Colossus 1 (front row, walk straight on)

    Slammer 3

    Samurai 1

    Vortex 2

    Detonator 1

    rush 1

    rumba rapids 1

    Zodiac 1

    Ride total: 27

    Positives:

    - short queues in the afternoon

    - adding a second train after apologising to me on twitter

    - Nemesis started on 2 trains

    - slammer was working (most of the time)

    Cons:

    - Swarm on 1 train until 1:25!!!!!!! Despite having a 120 minute queue

    - Everything broke down at some point (only zodiac and loggers leap didnt)

    - 20 minute delay at saw to retrieve someone's lost item (surely they could have waited until the end of the day like normal)

  11. Train 2 lives, however it only lived for about an hour before having to be removed again. Stealth was closed until around 1:15 today and kept breaking down repeatedly. Also something I noticed, I dont know if its been like it all season but it appears to me that the last 3 segments of triangular track have been repainted as they look all shiny and new with no wheel marks.
