Sounds busier than the earlier ones last year. 18 rides seems a bit low compared to what I managed last year of 33 in one night. Ill just hope that when I go its more "dead".
-
It is in a very good location. Good road, bus and train links and the railway line operating the eurostar they do have all of europe to attract. Not sure how they will achieve 15 million though.

I hope the never get pizza and pasta or buger kitchen. They are both horrible and to replace pizza hut and burger king with those would be a terrible decesion.
Also I have no idea how much the price of the bbq is was just stating a bbq is good no matter what the price.
-
Best decision Thorpe have made all year. Nothing beats a BBQ, even if it has merlin pricing on it.

Wooo new information http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kent-business/county-news/paramount-team-construction-19946/
Its nice to see they are optimistic expecting 15 million people in year one. It will be very nice to see merlin's reaction if they achieve that.

In the summer they normally have a load of these stages around. It will be for performers and entertainment over the next 2 months.

My point was the maths behind it and keeping the number of people there the same. So if it was only 1 ride and 500 people were trapped there. So the 500 would still form a 30 minute queue but now it takes twice as long making it 60 minutes but they all get to ride twice. When this is open to more rides and people the same rules still apply. You still have X number of people in the park forming a set lenght of queue which is now twice as long but they all get to ride twice making it the same as it was before just in a different set up.
RnR will cause the average number of rides to stay the same but the extremes to become closer. So great for the stupid people who just join the first queue they see but bad for people who can easily get above the average.
However this system is able to sell more fastracks by turning a dial. Say fastrack sales are down, all they have to do is change the % of fastrack up so the wait becomes longer so more people will buy fastracks to fill the new created slots becuase the queue time has be artifically increased.

Very true. Tower of Terror is one amazing dark ride. I doubt merlin will ever get to that level becuase they cut corners everywhere and claim there the best.

I was more thinking the £150 million of Disney as a large budget. Compared to universal and Disney £20 million is nothing.

I do believe slammer was down this morning.
-
Is that including slammer? or is that for stealth only

I'm in favour of a dark ride. The current restrictions on the next coaster will end up making it rather bad. 20-30 million can still come a way with some decent theming. The ride itself wont cost that much so the rest is just themeing and marketing as they wont have to create and island.
-
So much wrong in this post I don't know where to begin...
SOMEONE GET THIS MAN ON TOWER OF TERROR!
In his defence merlin are not going be using tower of terror budgets.

I'm sure a BBC IP after the success of Alton would be seen as a safe move. I would also agree that if they spend time on it then they could easily pull it off.
-
I do believe the original plan was a mack/woodie but since the new aim they wanted a more family orientated ride because of this and the limited space they are no longer looking at the islands for a coaster as it would be a waste. Also I think that because the main complaint of Swarm was that it was too short they are waiting for the 900m track limit to be raised. Thorpe do have enough coasters for now so I would welcome a dark ride if done correctly and from what I have heard it will be intresting. The ride itself is meant to be quite new and unique to the UK and its not going to be another coaster in a box.

Oh that thing. If it opened yesterday for 15 minutes I dont see how that can be the cause.

Inferno incident?

Oh that makes sense, I thought it had been opened all day and rolled back randomly which called for a full evac. As it was the first train I'm assuming that the problem with stealth for the last few days lies in the launch part. Anyone know exactly whats wrong with it? if its the accumulators again its nice to know the fix lasted exactly a year.
-
Yeah engineers are not the most trusted people in the world. One of the reasons why I mentioned it came from an engineer. £20million for a dark ride seems rather odd thing for merlin to do, is there high investment year so I guess it could be possible.
-
oh I thought evac as in clear the entire queue line and area. I can understand getting people off the train.
-
Despite me saying it would be highly unlikely it would be doctor who it turns out it may actually be A DW themed ride. I'm lead to believe that currently the plans are for a £20million dark ride on the arena site opening 2016 with a BBC IP. Would take that with a pinch of salt mind you as that did come from an engineer on backstage tour of saw, however I have heard others say similar things.
-
Why did they evac the ride for something the ride can pretty much solve itself. Ive seen a video where TTD gets stuck at the top they push it down and continue as if nothing happened. Also I swear they never used to evac after a rollback.

Oh ok, I thought you meant that you couldn't achieve more rides if you tried. Approximately How many trains did you have to wait?
