  1. What I mean is that the current physical system could have a 30 minute queue for stealth. Where as with RnR the physical queue will be 60 minutes as will the virtual queue. So if you were to wait for stealth virtually the same time as queueing you have waited 60 minutes for 2 go's. So effectively its the same. The problems with the system arise when fastracks are hidden in the system so the virtual wait becomes longer than it should be and the effect it has on people going round the park. I'm sure people are much more willing to wait 2 hours virtually for a coaster than a flat ride. So the distribution of guests also effect the virtual and real queues much more.

  2. a lot of rides make noises like that. For example a kmg freakout or inversion makes a noise similar to that of slammer but you cant hear it due to the loud noise as a lot of these rides are only at funfairs. You can only hear slammers machines whirring as it does not have loud music to drown it out. :)

I was referencing to the testing video. Thankfully its no longer making the sound of a dying cat in a washing machine.

  3. A normal guest (as we are now calling them) wont get 15 rides. I only got 15 because I knew when the queue times were lying and how to use the RnR system to its maximum potential. It wont have any effect at all on number of rides of the GP because all it does is move the queues. When all the rides are on this system then the queues will be exactly how they were just hidden. what was a 30 minute queue for stealth will now be an hour queue for 2 go's. Hour in a physical queue, an hour virtually. Thats it. Well it does also allow thorpe to get perfect number of fastrack sales and how to maximise them because no one can see how many of them there are.

  4. I would go to alton if it wasnt 3 hours away, and if they had stealth. I know 15 rides for a normal guest would be amazing but going there often has its benefits. I know what the queue times are realitive to the queues end and also know when rides will be quite. RnR ruins that for me and makes queueing even less pleasant than it already is. All RnR is move when your queuing, thats all it does. I would much prefer queuing twice than queue once in a slow queue and get on twice at the end.

  5. All the times ive been to a RnR it has been a terrible experience. Only coming away with about 10-15 rides when I should be easily getting 20+. 2 of the 3 times I have been caught out thinking I'm waiting for saw to go over there to find the system broke and its now a 90 minute queue as they try and get through the remains of the RnR and the masses of people coming over thinking its their time. The day where it made it to the end I was unable to get 4-5 goes in the last 20 minutes as I would needed to have booked multiple times hours ago. The time spent waiting for slots is horrible as all queues are moving slowly and your worrying your going to miss your slot and join the massive queue at guest services full of a load of other people with the same problem. It just adds stress and ruins my day, so I'm not going back to a reserve and ride again. If it becomes a full time thing then ill have to see if I can get a refund on my annual pass.

  6. They had to make the rides have a standby queue as when it was just RnR it didn't work. What happened was 3hr 30min wait virtually so if you didn't book fast there was no ride for you that day and when you got there it was a 50 minute queue because if 1 person is late it builds and builds until at the end of the day the RnR queue is massive. Its a broken system with no solution and I cant tell that I'm going to have to try and get a refund on my summer night tickets because the chances are a trail day is a day I'm there.

  7. We never moaned about it. Its just when they got us off stealth they said that becuase of the wet weather getting us soaked they said that if we headed to the entrance there were tickets to return to the next summer night as the one we were at involved getting stuck on stealth and non stop rain.

  8. I'm sorry.. but all these arguments on the past page and noones pointed out..

He said he had free tickets to the theme park.. so decides to come only for the Summer Night event, an event which is short, has hardly any attractions available, and not worth anywhere near the value of the full price day ticket (and surely also excluded from the terms of the free return ticket).

    Calling bull**** on this one.

They gave me the chance to return to a summer night because that's when it happened. They didn't give me a ticket to return at any time. Also this is not "Bull****" it actually happened so if you want to be ignorant and not believe what I'm saying go ahead.

  9. My story hasn't changed at all, all taht has changed was 60 minutes to 20 minutes. You can continue to believe that I am lying but I am not.

I'm willing to accept that what I was told by the engineer was wrong, but I dont see how I was meant to know that with out being told by someone else.

  10. rain triple wait time? I mentioned rain because it was partly to blame for being stuck on stealth.

Also I criticise merlin as they are trying to be the best, act like the best but in reality they are far from it.

The problem with stealth is that it failed to launch. The train slipped off the catch car backwards by about a foot and was then stuck there. They normally move the train forward to get the train back on the catch however because of the rain the wheels were unable to move the train back to the launch position.

  11. 1. not complaing about traffic just explaing why it took so long to get there.

    2. I often exaggerate

    3. Rocking a train back and forth to try and get the train to catch the catch car isn't exactly complicated, and it certainly doesn't take 2 people.

    4. someone would still have to wait an hour to get in. most of them having paid £15 on top of a day ticket doesn't sound like a good deal.

  12. 1. we don't have a satnav, there is no point. 3 hours there and back, so 1 hour 30 mins both way. 1 hour was a bit of an exaggeration it was more like 20 minutes, but was raining so felt like an hour.  I'm not complaing about getting stuck on stealth, that was actually fun, we learnt a lot about it from the engineers. My only complaint I had was about the hour queue to get in because they had 2 people at the windows.

  13. We travelled for 3 hours because we were given free tickets to return as the first one we were stuck on stealth for an hour because the  catch car didn't line up and the wheels couldn't grip the train. Turning up would have happened if there wasnt a massive traffic jam on the M25 and my point is there shouldn't be an hour queue to get in.

Originally it was advertised as no queues, and was changed to minimal shorty after.

  14. In a 3 hour event when the queue to get in is 1 hour and you travel 3 hours there and back to find 15 minute queues when advertised as no queues, I think I have a right to moan. Last year the ride team changed when summer nights started as we had to wait for stealth to be checked and tested.

I'm sure Thorpe can afford to start summer nights 30 minutes later. First impressions should be the best impression, not oh sorry we aren't ready yet.

  15. I take theme parks very seriously. Any problem no matter how big or small is not acceptable. A 15 minute queue is not acceptable when it was originally advertised as no queues. I guess they did rectify the problem by changing it to minimal queues.

  16. True but ive been to a sold out one and it wasn't what I was expecting compared to the other ones. Stealth and swarm were both 15 minutes, and that is 15 minutes too long. Much preferred the ability to just stay on stealth 10 times in a row.

  17. Some people like me can only visit at weekends. RnR needs to be either a replacement for fastrack or removed completely. Evidently their servers are still not up to standard neither are the wifi spots. The dynamics it has on the park ruin it. If you queue normally its a new league of slow and makes guests queuing quite angry. Its easy to be abused and the park isn't set up for its use. A whole new queue line is needed if they want it to be free and that isn't possible. Also people get annoyed when you have a 3 hour virtual wait for saw to find that when you get there its a 40 minute wait. You may as well scrap the system and have an hour queue but that is far too simple for thorpe to consider because all they want you to do is spend more in shops.
