Yes all kmg swing rides like the freakout, afterburner, xxl, inversion, sicko can change the gondola spin direction but a lot of the time it just goes one way or the other but to make a long cycle they tend to change direction like the german kmg rides do

the wipeout ride is more of a funfair ride and all of the funfair afterburners spin the gondolas fast its cause they are much easier to spin faster than vortex due to the 24 seater being much lighter. also I think Speed Wave has finally been taken by James Mellor and its probably heading or is in dubai as we speak!

You'd be surprised that many of the people who were on x factor are actually quite popular. And if the fans hear that they are at thorpe then the fans will flock to the park

Sorry to keep asking so many questions but does the grounds of adventure island open before 11am or does the grounds and rides both open at 11am?

Since we all know the showcase live event at thorpe park this summer has been hugely popular and I was thinking for next year the park could bring in a £10 - £20 wristband/ticket to actually meet the star and get a picture taken with them. This is a win win for the park and the guests. For the park means it brings in more money and the guests and fans would be happy to meet the singer. Bit like what adventure island are doing but do it in the summer instead? What do you think?

Danters is always operated brilliantly! I got the chance to see it testing at the river festival and they showed off what the ride could really do!

Yes they did well on paper they did but luke shufflebottom (who now owns the superstar) is married to one of the bensons so therefore its still in the family kinda and it still does the same fairs as before I think

The funny thing is that Power Tower 2 at a german fair is usually €5-€8 but when it comes to winter wonderland it is £5-£10 which is silly but if you take into account the costs behind the scenes (cost to run, fuel, transporting it around) there are no fairs in the uk that last as long as WW so therefore the showmen really need to make money for them to able to make a living.

Line up wont be confirmed till nearer the time. Its kept a closely guarded secret! But dreams live could attend maybe or a starflyer

Its not up to the showmen who set the prices. The event organisers do. The big major rides are the most expensive, the normal thrill rides are normal to slightly expensive and the small rides are the cheapest

Lol ive heard ride hosts make far worse jokes than that. The ride hosts know that thorpe is a park which mainly adults and teenagers go to so they would understand the joke and find it funny. Now lets get back on topic about Vortex!! Vortex has been running pretty well this season! Each of My three trips to the park vortex has been working and been working well! Let's hope this continues for the rest of the year

Rock Rage is highly unlikely to attend this year due to not being hugely popular last year

Everyone is different when it comes to blackouts/greyouts but when I went on Bomber Mark 2 at goose last year when the ride was at full speed I couldnt see anything apart from grey for the whole time it was at full pelt. If it happens a lot then its worth talking to a doctor about it. No harm in checking

Very true the outside is not perfect but the general public don't really care about the outside appearance they just want to have a comfy bed and a place to chill out once the rides has closed!

am I the only one who likes the shark hotel?! Its decent for an overnight stay and the beds are comfy and it does the job of putting you up for the night since you dont spend a lot of time at the hotel!

Great report james! Danters superstar is number 1 compared to shufflebottoms which is also nice but danters is better run and presented! Oxygen is one of the nicest boosters in the uk!

Saw a video of the Voodoo Jumper funfair ride in germany and noticed in its starting mode they played the smilers theme tune. Has alton allowed this or is it just a case of using the music ? I thought theyd have to get a licence from merlin to play it surely??

Ive noticed on a lot of the saw cars restraints quite a few of them have tape wrapped around the top of the restraint. Why is this?
