Vampire was running amazingly today, from the music (which could be heard from Trail of the Kings) to the ride itself which was probably the smoothest ride I've ever had on it. What's not so amazing is the shop, I assumed theyd have left the Vampire half alone and just changed the bubbleworks side, but Gruffalo takes up about 3/4 now and the Vampire walls have been decorated with a weird purple pattern thing - I think its trees but it's hard to make out. This carries on to the photo shop which is a shame because I liked the old castle bit. Props to Chessie though, I'm not a fan of all the Gruffalo stuff but the shop is quite good. The old windows have been replaced by three Vampire logos on one side and three Gruffalo logos on the other. In fact, while I don't like the change, they've done an alright job of tying Vampire into the area. The announcements have been ditched though, aside from the exit one which has been re recorded by the most unenthusiastic person I've ever heard.

The actual carousel bit isn't meant to be a tree, there's a green bit on the top meant to be land and the tree on top. The music sounded excellent today, very loud and clear. The ride is massive, can easily be seen from Land of the Dragons and Transylvania.

Wasn't open today at all.

So they're opening it two hours after opening time the day after the park opens? Strange...

Tbh that Vampire theming looks awful. I could quite easily have made that. And the chess board is... odd. What is actually replacing Creepy Caves? And why is it called California California California? Apart from that, it looks good. Quite alot has changed.

A single rider queue has been added to Dragon Falls? Odd decision to put it there and not Vampire or Rattlesnake.

The way I see it going is you'll love it if you're two and it'll be quite scary to most above that age.

Am I the only one who has an inkling this ride is going to be unintentionally scary? The size of that Gruffalo hand makes me think it's going to be absolutely terrifying...

I was wrong - you don't have to walk through Haunted Hollow.

In other news, the pathway from Mutiny Bay to Katanga Canyon is apparently closed for SW8 meaning you have to go through Haunted Hollow. Which is good for families isn't it?

Neither have I, I remember when I first visited Towers (2013, before I was really an enthusiast) and hearing the music and reading the restriction boards I thought it was some kind of terrifying horror ride and didn't sleep much that night because part of me genuinely thought "Hex will get me"

Market Square is now called Adventure Point, the hot dog building has been painted purple inside out to be another nitrogenie and the old shooting game is now hot dogs. Creepy Caves is also being renamed. Not a fan of any of that at all. Can't wait for Room on the Broom ?

The Nemesis monster is being finished As well as the Smiler track being cleaned and supports repainted And Golf is getting some TLC too I like to think this is serious whether it actually is or not

Alot of things have changed/are changing at Chessie this year. Firstly the hydration station by Wild Asia has been moved to Skyway's old queue. Literally looks like its been picked up and plonked back down. In its old place is a Nitrogenie stand. Great, I always wanted loud pop music instead of the Wild Asia audio. Across from where the hydration station is now, where the shooting game was, has had some major work done. A shutter has been pulled over the front and it seems like part of a wall has been removed, inside it looked like some kind of photo opportunity. It seems as if all the coasters are having work done to them. There were some workmen on Dragon's Fury's MCBR after the second drop near Canopy, and some hammering going on. Some sounds could be heard from Rattlesnake too, and all of the cars are outside Dragon's Fury, which also seems to have had some new signage in the station. The shack outside Smokehouse is now doughnuts and hot dogs. It looked like Black Bucaneer was being painted or cleaned, the boat is out on the path just behind Sea Storm's queue and looked as if it was being sprayed by something. Speaking of painted, some of Griffin's Galleon's platform looked as if it has been repainted. Work was also being done on the penguin show stage.

Imagine my shock when I walk past Transylvania and hear Vampire's lift hill and second drop. As you can tell its been testing this morning
