Scrambled. Fuji Q Highland or Nagashima Spa Land?
  2. For inversions I'd go: Inferno then The Swarm then Saw then Colossus. If you go onto the ride confident and calm you'll end up forgetting about he inversions. On some inversions, such as loops, you don't really realise you're upside down, it just feel like a long straight bit of track! Also, it may help if you go on these rides first time around with your family, or other loved ones as opposed to friends. Friends are likely to be more judgemental and they will have a less calming effect than loved ones. Here are a few common fears that relate to the fear of rollercoasters: Acrophobia- fear of heights Inverseverticalitis- fear of inverting Basiphobia- fear of falling Chlostrophobia- fear of confined spaces (the restraints) ThemeParkCrafte, have you been on any inverting flat rides?
  3. This post is hypocritical, considering the fact that you have now repeatedly critiqued the moaners. What is wrong with moaners? What is wrong with pessimists? Nothing. Moaning is simply a way of verbalising your disappointment for something. People are disappointed that the red warehouse had not been disguised and is largely visible, therefore people moan. In addition, I believe the "Disney don't theme all of their buildings, so why should Merlin?" Argument is invalid as Merlin aren't Disney and Disney aren't perfect. If Disney don't do something, there is no reason to think that other companies won't do it. Concealing the warehouse would have dramatically improved the exterior of the ride and just because other major companies don't theme the entirety of their ride buildings, enthusiasts should not lower their expectations by assuming that "if Disney don't do it, why should Merlin?" I apologise for my rant, but it's ok to moan!
  4. I do think stealth would certainly benefit from a having lap bar. It could aid potential airtime on the top hat.

    Dairy Milk. Chicken or beef?

    Dominoes. Togo or Vekoma?
  7. Stealth doesn't have any inversions and it would not be benefited if one was added.

G force. Heide Park or Hansa Park?
  9. I know that the thing my sister is afraid of is drops. Due to this reason she only goes on Nemesis Inferno and Colossus at Thorpe Park and she skips the 3 others. This fear has not been cured yet but I'm working on it. I shall start with a small drop on something such as The Smiler or th13teen, then progress to the eurofighters and then finally Stealth and the Swarm, both of which have the drops my sister fears the most. I guess this principle could be applied to coasters with inversions. Start with Air, progress to the eurofighters, then inverts, then Colossus and finally The Smiler.

Maths. Tampa or Williamsburg (Busch Gardens)?
  11. Stealth ran 2 trains on the second weekend of opening.
  12. It is no surprise that not all of the warehouse is themed however I'd really like the themed section to hide the warehouse like Duel does. Dual is essentially a warehouse that been cleverly concealed by a facade that only covers a small proportion of the ride building. I just wish this could do the same. It's a shame as in my opinion that red warehouse undoes all the good theming.

    RCT Japan or India?
  14. John Wardley retired.
  15. Level of disappointment.
  16. I have designed my own park with the big six ride names being: Crystalline: launched wing Enchanted:GCI F U J I: dive Shangri-la:4d The underworld:s&s el loco Slipstream: intamin giga
  17. Wearing VR headsets, no one can hear you scream... I haven't experienced it yet, though the reviews so far have been awful. I like the theme, but by the looks of it the VR adds nothing to the experience. It looks like it would have been better with this new theme, added theming, an immersive queue line and soundtrack, but just without the VR.
  18. Great report! It makes me sad knowing Towers is suffering somewhat. More rides are crucial as it feels as of AT only has one thrilling flat ride in Enterprise. I'm not going to lie, I want SW8 to be a coaster, a really terrific coaster that will get positive global attention. Saying this, I'd still love the ride to be immersive, highly themed, charming and leave you with the sense of wonder once you depart. For me though, on this occasion, it's thrills over theming. Come on Towers get your magic back!
  19. No, it was entirely sarcastic. I'm well aware that sarcasm is used commonly on TPM!
  20. Benin was using the little known linguistic device of sarcasm. TPMers don't use sarcasm much do they?
  21. It actually looks quite thrilling with the vertical track. I like how it resembles the Walibi 'W' too. I know nothing about this park,I assume it's not as good as its Dutch counterpart?

As far as I'm aware, no. Before Matt's post I was completely unaware of any rumours saying that there was going to be one.(Unless you meant Heidi as opposed to Heide Park!) The longer the speculation goes on, the more I want this to be an RMC. I've never ridden one before, but I'd absolutely love to. They seem extremely popular and are taking the theme park world by storm. Due to this, I've decided to be pessimistic and have low expectations. Therefore, I'd be overjoyed, amazed and awed if SW8 is an RMC.

No, you're putting words into my mouth. My previous post only talked about how the UK has numerous mediocre rides, and is due something really special. Also, I never opposed investments for things that aren't coasters. I'd love SW8 to be a Chiapas style log flume. I'm really hyped for DBGT as well. I don't mind what the specific ride type or even ride that SW8 is, I just want it to be incredible, world renowned and not mediocre like many other British coasters. Again, I most certainly am not saying that Britain doesn't have any good coasters.
  24. CharlieN replied to EC!'s topic in UK Attractions
I woudn't call Air or Oblivion world renowned for their quality. World renowned for being world's firsts yes, but not for their quality. In fact Air is runowned for its passiveness. Anyway, I wasn't saying that there isn't good British coasters, just that there's so many that really aren't special. In my opinion... Rita, Th13teen, Colossus, Saw, Air, the Drayton Coasters as well as coasters at smaller parks such as Flaming Land, Oakwood, Pleasurewood Hills, are all, at best midiocre. I may just be a tough critic but I want England to get some roller coasters like Nemesis, that are known globally throughout theme park circles and are ranked highly too.
