Been here since '09 but never actually introduced myself
I'm Sam! Formerly known as thorpeparkmad11 (I was young, okay).

19, Student, studying Aerospace Engineering at Herts Uni!

Long time enthusiast, mainly of Thorpe- if you haven't seen me about much it's because I mainly read most and never get
    to replying!
More active when I first made the account- not so much the last few years as life seemed to have got in the way of theme parks but the last year or so I've been getting much more back into it! Can't forget the things which give you a bit of joy in life so... (Think that's enough cringe for here though)

Usually post only when I feel the need to- but am hoping to change that a bit though and be more active/involved so be nice to me

Thanks guys! I've been really into rides/coasters/parks ever since I can remember!

And... well Brighton Pier needs a bit of work in my opinion lol - the best ride is Horatio's Bar!  haha! Especially this time of year when it's cold, wet and windy, with Booster taken down and all the rides needing a certain amount of riders to run - no point going really!

Hi Dean, welcome to TPM! Honestly you'll fit in no matter what attraction is closest to you. All that matters is that you're into the parks and whatnot like we all are.

Hi I'm Dean, I've been following these forums for as long as I can remember, but for some reason I never made an account! So I made one lol.

I'm living in Brighton at the moment, so Brighton Pier is my closest 'park'... but... yeah, it's not really worth talking about! xD

I'm always up for a chat (unless I'm not available, or dead), so.. yeah

Peer Gynt by Henrik Ibsen - that's a good play! It's quite short, but really gets into the idea of 'self' and what it is to be ones 'self'. Deep stuff lol!

Oh! Also, when I was reading it, I couldn't help but notice the 'Dovre Master', or 'Troll King'... King of the Norwegian mountains. It was the play for which Edvard Grieg wrote "In The Hall of the Mountain King"  It was a completely unintentional find which made it more like "oh wow!" Haha!

    Thanks for this great post!

I'm actually quite excited about it now  Not that I wasn't at all, but I did start wondering if all the hype and build-up would leave me disappointed, plus I didn't realise it was such a long ride! And a smooth travelling coaster

Aww and it looks so pwetty

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Gardaland yesterday, well most of it anyway. I'll start of with the bad points as I like getting them out of the way first.
Sequioa Adventure. Why oh why is this coaster still there. I never come off a coaster saying 'that was truly awful', but I did for this. It's more of a torture device than a ride.
Blue Tornado. I've heard many terrible things about SLC's, but I gave this one a chance. It's the worst rollercoaster I've ever ridden. Ever. It's so rough and not enjoyable in the slightest.
This park does have a lot of excellent rides and attractions however! Oblivion The Black Hole was the best ride yesterday; I managed to get on it three times due to short queues in the afternoon. It's essentially a better Oblivion at Towers. Very smooth, nice transitions from element to element. Even the queue line is great! Overall I found it to be fantastic.
Raptor is also a very good attraction too. Definitely a superior ride to Swarm imo. What really makes the ride though is the barrel roll at the end. It's nice and slow, and there are a good 4 head choppers you pass through! Loved it from start to finish.
The park is home to some other fantastic attractions such as Space Vertigo, Magic Mountain; even the laser shooter (Rameses) was really enjoyable. The new Kung Fu Panda area felt rather rushed though; the spinning coaster was great for the family but just a bit average really.
Gardaland is, despite the flaws, a brilliant park, and one that I highly recommend that you check out if you get the chance.
