  1. On that day Pleasure beach had around 6k guests. So 10k less than thorpe. There's a reason it makes a loss.. it's cos they dont get any guests.
  2. Argh which bit is that? I'm thinking coming out of the station.. but I swear that was themed or at least you couldn't see underneath it. This has confused me so much!
  3. Bloody hell the state of that car park...
  4. Note that Towers does the same method as Chessie from Scarefest onwards - Fastrack until 11am on select rides (not The Smiler or CBeebies Land). When they used to have the whole day thing is when it created those MASSIVE Fastrack queues. Far better having the current system, as at least it only affects the first hour of the day.

It can run with one shuttle. Used to when Oblivion opened for Christmas rides back in the days. As with time slots.. it's designed so the team running the Maze make sure people go to the quietest maze first. It's meant to be that both have the same length queue (of not more than 15 minutes), but the team were useless. It's improved recently but still not good enough.

Duel Live lol. There's no Duel Live, hasn't been for years (they were around the ride when it was Duel live) however the Alton Ancestors might appear in the Queue line if it's raining in the early afternoon only. So Alton Towers, due to the forecast weather, was completely and utterly dead today. Oblivion was on two shuttle operation by the late afternoon - the least I've EVER seen it on. Rita barely ran with more than a couple of rows loaded. It was awesome!

'Merlin'. The parks. It's all the parks choice what they do.

Nemesis has no red lights. Ents are trying to source some red bulbs for the generators, Rides might gel up some lights at some point. The valley has almost been left alone unfortunately. Air and Sonic Spinball permanent lighting towers need coloured bulbs, and they need a few more bulbs/variety of colours for the generators. Then everything will look pretty good. At the moment Valley is the worst looking area (as always).
  9. Last train back to stoke (virgin) is 10.40 or something on a weekday. Just after 9pm on a Sat/Sun. Plus advance fares are really good for late night trains!
  10. It's just a generic advert which noone ever looks at changing (the bit with magic pass etc).
  11. They should strongly limit the amount of Fastrack available (kinda can't when they've offered all these fright night passes and unlimited bollocks). They should also have Guest Services issuing tickets out of the fastrack allocation rather than what they have now (which essentially amounts to no limits - you can **** over the park on one day by just providing passes to the same attractions to everyone who you speak to). They really need to sort it out. It's a huge huge issue at Thorpe and all they ever seem to do is make things worse (by adding Reserve..). Sort out the bloody quotas first Thorpe.

So, the park generators seemingly are all blue and green this year. Atmosphere much!
  13. I quite enjoy it - look at the difference of average queue times between a busier Alton Towers on a weekday and Thorpe Park. Thorpe queues are almost double the length on average! Tis interesting and will paint a rather cool picture once you have a lot of data - that's if the parks themselves dont change the code or whatever.

    Slammer

The best thing about slammer is that because it spends more than half its life broken, it means you can never get fully used to riding it!
  15. ALL THAT WILL BE ADDED IS YELLOW PIPEWORK, I BE TELLING YA. It's germany for god sake. That won't happen.
  16. I'm gonna go with another angle now. You do not have a right to stay on.
  17. The reason that it's a blanket one ride policy, rather than a 2 or three, is that not only is it easier to enforce (unless you do what Pluk does - you'll enrage the Nemesis staff if they found out you do this), but it also prevents those issues when people want to stay on but the ride has people waiting to load. A simple "once is enough" is easy to get into the brains of people. Those who demand more, or think it's their right, or those who flout the rules are the reasons why they become more and more draconian.
  18. Ah yes, but how would you know, or know that those around you are in a fit state to continue re-riding? It's only a matter of time until you get someone being sick (downtime) or needing medical assistance (more downtime). I love how it would be a disaster if you have to walk around. God knows how you enjoy a quiet day at Alton if that's the case..
  19. Correct, and therefore the best way to ensure a guests full health and enjoyment is to ensure a blanket no-reride policy.
  20. You've grown, young one. I like them covering the fences.. prefer the barrier covers though rather than that.
  21. Towers blanket no-reride policy yadda yadda guest had heart attack yadda yadda only way of ensuring everyones fit and healthy before riding as they can develop illnesses or realise they'd best not push themselves whilst walking through queueline yadda yadda. I pushed myself whilst riding a ride earlier this year, on a park which didn't have a re-ride policy... I ended up almost collapsing as Benzin will confirm. I felt perfectly fine until I decided to stand up off the ride and walk off.
  22. Lighting looks relatively lovely. Relatively. Shame the ride is utter crap though.
  23. Chessie's screens show last years adverts, that'll be why! (probably cos they haven't bothered turning them off/removing them like the other two parks have).
  24. They're not there on Mondays. Sundays are by far the worst. Towers is pretty good with it.. they have a lot of police and security around. A LOT. It's just easier (and better for everyone) that if something happens to alert the security staff as they eject people being morons.
  25. Acceptable throughput? I've never seen a time that the train is not stacked on the brake run! It can't get much more than 400pph.
